Born and raised in southern Spain, Florencia Clement de Grandprey is the daughter of an American mother and a French/Italian father, living and working in Fort Lauderdale, Florida since 2004.

A mixed media artist, whose mission is to empower and inspire through positive and meaningful artwork. Her artistic foray began in late 2014, when she stepped away from her full-time career in the interior design world, to pursue her real passion for painting.

She has developed a style without rules, which gives her great freedom, to combine her love of the classic masters with contemporary design air, to produce mixed media works. Her style and media have certainly evolved over the last six years as she is continuously exploring surfaces and materials.

Initially, Florencia set out to paint on canvas and then incorporated up-cycled and repurposed materials that would otherwise be disposed of. The use of materials such as discontinued fabrics and paper samples provides unique backgrounds and “dress” for her subjects. Three years into her passion, she’s delighted with the results of painting directly on upholstery fabric and area rugs. She’s fallen in love with the e ect that she’s able to achieve in this new medium. The patterns become intertwined with the image and, add “voila” another dimension is revealed. Her unique ability to present these layers as met“Painting is my therapy, and, so, as I heal myself, I also hope that others can recognize themselves in my work and that it may ease their pain, and comfort them as well.” aphors for us to look deeper than what meets the eye, is powerfully evident in her work. At the heart of Florencia’s work is a desire to portray strong and con dent, soul aligned men and women. A yearning to celebrate who we are and everything that makes us unique, perfectly imperfect beings, by bringing out our strengths and our beauty; as a reminder of who we really are and to say “I see you and honor you.” Florencia relishes in portraying all ethnicities and nds it to be the ideal way to celebrate inclusion. It is especially important to her that everyone feels represented in her artwork and to serve as a mirror of society. Her collections are very much a re ection of her life and —Florencia Clement therefore, that exists in every one de Grandprey of her paintings.

“Painting is my therapy, and, so, as I heal myself, I also hope that others can recognize themselves in my work and that it may ease their pain, and comfort them as well,” said Florencia.

Her latest series is entitled “Guardians of Sacred Space” and is composed of her largest pieces yet, ranging between 6’x4’ and 10’x8’, painted on area rugs. They are powerful portraits that command attention and infuse a sense of protection and calm to the space they are in.

“I’m constantly striving to give form to my own feelings and visions, as well as others,” said Florencia. “I welcome commissioned artwork and love working with my clients to create unique pieces that perfectly t their heart, soul, and environment.”
