GENERAL SERVICES

A p p a r a t u s Fo a m S y s t e m I n j e c t i o n Te s t i n g TSI’s experience with industrial apparatus foam systems is unsurpassed in the industry. Our 200-plus years designing, fabricating and testing gives our technicians the upper hand on foam injection calibration. Is your apparatus injecting properly?

F i x e d a n d S e m i F i x e d Fo a m S y s t e m Te s t i n g TSI will come to your facility and check your fixed and semi- fixed foam systems. This inspection covers liquid concentrate inspection, piping and valve operation, prime mover/ pump and panel controls. Injection tests will be done as customer requests.

Apparatus Specification Writing TSI will assist the truck committee on spec writing to assure everything from bumper to bumper is included. After an inspection of plant, hazards and logistics, a complete specification can be drafted for the bid process.

N F PA A p p a r a t u s T e s t i n g TSI will come to your facility and perform the annual NFPA water pump testing procedure. Any deficiencies will be corrected, new fluids replaced and the customer will receive a printed document of the complete service and testing that was done, certificate of pump test and RPM plate.

Ta n k C h a m b e r P r o g r a m TSI will make an assessment of your tank farm. Each tank will be shown as well as hydrant access, local roads and overall view of tank relative to farm. Flow calculations may be included in this program along with setup procedures.

Supply new pump rate & engine speed plate per test results. 2. All tests are performed from a draft condition Foam Concentrate Injection Testing: NFPA 1901 requires foam system accuracy testing be performed prior to delivery of new apparatus by the manufacturer. Even though NFPA does not required yearly testing, a yearly system check is recommended. Just as fire pumps and fire hose is tested, IFSTA recommends a yearly system check. Designed to check the foam system accuracy at the design parameters according to the apparatus manufacturer. Each foam discharge is tested for proper flow and accuracy, assuring the customer the apparatus is accurately flowing foam at a fixed percentage, and that each discharge is proportioning foam concentrate at the set percentage, according to NFPA 11 standards for foam system operations. TSI will check each discharge at 1% - 3% - 6% using the water equivalency method. Every discharge will be flowed at the manufacturer’s recommended nominal flow. A calibrated flow meter will be placed into the aux. liquid suction connection and the above injection points will be verified. TSI can make field adjustments on National Foam Servo Command and Pierce Husky units.

PUMPS

NO PRIMING The Godwin Dri-Prime® family of automatic self-priming pumps are always ready to go. No priming, no worries—our unique design means you can start dry and run dry without any damage. The Dri-Prime self-priming system has no moving parts and requires very little maintenance. All Dri-Prime pumps have a number of features designed for longer life: a cast chromium steel impeller, oil-bath mechanical seal, 25 percent cast chromium steel wear plates, and more. You can also set Dri-Prime pumps to run automatically, so that they kick on when they’re needed and shut off when the water level is down. That’s true for both diesel and electric models, thanks to our PrimeGuard controller, a state-of-the-art control system with automatic start/stop. If you’ve ever had to venture out in a late-night rainstorm to prime a pump, you’ll appreciate the automatic self-priming features.

HL-260M Dri-Prime® Pump The Godwin Dri-Prime 10" x 10" HL260M is a heavy duty, fully automatic self-priming pump specifically offered for pumping under discharge pressure conditions or high discharge lift applications. The HL260M offers flow rates up to 4,760 gpm, total dynamic heads up to 500 feet, and solids handling up to 3" in diameter. Like all Godwin pumps, the HL260M includes the Dri-Prime air ejector priming system for fully automatic priming up to 28 feet of static suction lift.

RUPTURE DISC SUBSURFACE INJECTION National Foam rupture discs are designed for sub-surface applications where expanded foam is injected into the product, either at the base of a product storage tank or through the pipeline supplying product to the tank. Foam lines are normally open to atmosphere and require a positive barrier to prevent product from entering the foam supply line. The check valves normally installed in the foam supply line cannot assure a positive barrier against product leakage into the foam line. Product leakage into the foam line may result in a product spill outside the dike area. Installation of the rupture disk insures a positive method to prevent leakage into the foam line. FEATURES • Easy installation even on existing tanks. • Assures positive shutoff of foam line. • Ease of maintenance. APPLICATIONS • Foam systems using sub-surface injection for application of expanded foam.
