TALKING SHOP WITH: Hayden Peterson — Cosen Saws Marketing Specialist How would you describe your company's primary business?
What drives customers to make the decision to purchase a band saw or other product from Cosen saws?
Cosen Saws in an industry leader in industrial band saw manufacturing. Cosen North America was founded in 1990 and after 28 years serves as the companies leading market. Cosen offers over 80 different band saw models, with capacities ranging from 8” to 80” round, and in a variety of styles such as horizontal dual column, scissor style, vertical contour and tilt frame, plate saws, and mitering saws.
Service is the major factor. Though our machines are made overseas, (so are the majority of all other major band saw manufacturers) having our North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC with an extensive stock of machines, and a vast parts inventory, has helped in letting the customers know that turn around for your orders will be quicker than our competition. Pair that along with our national network of certified Cosen service technicians, we make sure the customer knows they are our priority and any repair or machine preventative maintenance service needed will be done quickly. We are also proud of the various technologies which we have developed and that can be paired with our products. We use these as selling points as well. The overall design of a band saw is pretty standard across the board, so it’s hard to change anything structural, (Outside of cosmetics) that is ground breaking. That’s where technology and software options such as our V_Drive technology, our predictive computing software, Mechalogix®, and our new material QR code scanners for easier job input come into play.
In brief, what is your history with Cosen Saws? I have served as Cosen’s Marketing Specialist for going on two years.
How has your company changed through the years? Since our founding in 1976, Cosen has grown exponentially over the past several decades. As of today, Cosen now manufactures machines from two state-of-the-art factories in Taiwan. Cosen North America alone has grown in size expanding our facilities and warehouse space three times within the past 20 years. As of today, Cosen Saws North America has an average of 150 machines in stock at our Charlotte facility and over $2 million in parts inventory.

Scott Kessler started with Messer in 2005 as the North American sales manager and is currently the vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas.
TALKING SHOP WITH: Scott Kessler — Messer Cutting Systems How would you describe your company's primary business? Messer Cutting Systems is a global manufacturer of CNC thermal cutting machines. Our machines use plasma, oxyfuel, and laser processes to cut profiles primarily in large steel, aluminum or stainless steel plate. Our customers are processing thicker materials typically between .125” – 8”. A very typical installation would be to process multiple 8’ wide by 20’ long plates. All machines shipped in North America are engineered, designed and built in Wisconsin.
In brief, what is your history with the company? I started with Messer in 2005 as the North American Sales Manager. I am currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Americas. Our facility in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area serves as the Headquarters for North America with additional operations in Ontario, Mexico City and Sao Paolo, Brazil.
plate that is later formed and welded to make a snow plow, or part of a ship’s hull, or the frame of a massive crane. Our machines can do smaller more precise cutting too.
In what ways can you help your customers overcome today’s manufacturing challenges? One of the biggest challenges all manufacturing companies face is labor. Our new machinery is designed to minimize operator involvement in lowering the labor requirement. Another major challenge all manufacturers face is to increase production efficiency and reduce overall cost and time required for production. With today’s technology, less input in time, labor, floor space, and energy now yields greater output than ever before.
What are you excited to bring manufacturing professionals in 2019?
What are interesting applications of your products?
Our biggest investment in new technology is certainly the expansion of IoT and Industry 4.0 applications. Our machines are able to feed important data back to the manufacturing process. It is all about tracking and predicting. Machines can tell us when they will complete a certain task, how long it took to complete a task, identify any metrics affecting performance and even predict when something might fail or when maintenance is required. As we learn more about bottlenecks in a given production process we are able to custom fit automation solutions for most any application. We are really digging into the details and providing the owners of our machines greater value by providing more data and information than ever before.
Our machines are designed to cut thick metal quickly and accurately to create parts that become something else. A good example is a cut

How has your company changed through the years? As we have grown we have seen the need to be more of a global company rather than five unique regional companies. Being a larger global entity allows us to leverage our resources in ways smaller local companies cannot. We have focused more directly on our customer’s needs rather than our competition’s actions. This has lead us to the development of new products, systems, and solutions that better meet our customer’s needs.

GMTA is the North American division of Profilator GmbH located in Wuppertal, Germany. Profilator is a German machine tool builder and our business is the sales, service and spare parts support of these products. Scott Knoy has been with the company since 2005 and was recently promoted to President in 2019.
TALKING SHOP WITH: Scott Knoy — President GMTA How would you describe your company's primary business? GMTA is the North American division of Profilator GmbH located in Wuppertal, Germany. Profilator is a German machine tool builder and our business is the sales, service and spare parts support of these products. Additionally, we distribute for a number of other German companies, providing the same sales, service and spare parts support. These companies include Praewema Gear Honing Technology, Samag Multi-Spindle 5 Axis machining, Rasoma Turning and Grinding Technology, Arnold-RV Laser Welding Technology and BvL Parts Washing Systems. This line up of machinery is built in support of automotive, aerospace, energy, heavy equipment, OTR truck, medical, and hand tool industries.
In brief, what is your history with the company? I began with GMTA in July of 2005 as the head of sales. At this time the company was already in operation for 24 years and well established in the market. Since 2005 we have seen the introduction of the Profilator “Baukasten” series of modular machines, the interest of gear manufacturers to explore “Power Honing” via Praewema, and most significantly the introduction by Profilator of the “Gear Scudding” process to the industry. I have been fortunate to participate in these technological advances in the gear industry. In 2015, I was presented the opportunity to become a company vice president and most recently was promoted to company president in 2019. We are looking at a bright future.
Honing “Vario-Speed” Technology. The Scudding process is a gear cutting process that 5-10 times faster than gear shaping. Scudding is a continuous generating process, meaning no idle strokes on the machine tool, as when shaping gears. Why this is so important is that the slow gear shaping process can be mostly replaced and the increased speed and superior accuracy of the “Scudding” process allow it to compete with gear hobbing and broaching!
What drives customers to purchase your products or services? Generally, people look to purchase our products based on “value added” operations. Of course, the large companies evaluate the cost of make vs. buy but the larger tier 1,2’s and job shops look for ways to add value to what they are currently providing. Our equipment provides mostly niche type operations such as, Gear Scudding, Gear Honing, Gear Tooth Pointing, Laser Additive Manufacturing, finger milling of gears, et cetra, which if positioned correctly in a manufacturing model can provide a large advantage over a competitor that does not have this ability, in terms of delivery speed, knowledge and process control.
What are you excited to bring manufacturing professionals in 2019?
What are interesting applications of your products?
The evolution of the Scudding technology has produced, “Hard Scudding” and “Micro-Finishing”. These processes performed on hardened parts utilize the gear Scudding technology to re-cut (in the case of Hard Scudding) or abrasively finish (Micro-finishing) a gear. These operations are all completed using “DRY Machining!”
As I stated earlier, I think the most revolutionary products are the Profilator patented “Scudding Process” and the Praewema Gear

Forging Forward with Automation
Automation in the forging industry, as shown in this tube upsetter line, speeds production and increases safety
Automation in Forging Industry Speeds Production and Increases Safety By: Stephen Armstrong
T
he industrialization of our economies around the world owes a debt to forging and the men and women who operate forging equipment. Without the ability to forge steel and other metals over the past century and a half, we would not have had the parts needed to manufacture cars, build aircraft, drill for oil, mine for minerals or lay down rail tracks. However, as with any process involving manual labor, automation is changing the game. Despite lagging behind many other industries, the forging industry is now increasingly requiring significant automation upgrades for both new equipment and remanufactured/rebuilt models of everything from horizontal forging machines and vertical presses, to hammers, and solid ball die forgers.

In doing so, tasks that were once performed manually - such as moving heavy steel rods, pipe and other stock in and out of equipment - are now automated to improve worker safety. Gone are the days when three men would lift a heavy steel rod with a glowing end into, and out of, a horizontal upset forging press. Today, many of these manual tasks are instead being replaced with the mechanical “hand” of a robot or by integrating servos that can lift, insert and deposit materials. Even tasks such as automated tooling changes can be completed with the push of a button. Not only does this create a safer environment for forging operators, but productivity is increased. By automating forging operations to perform some of the tasks of a human operator, productivity can increase from several hundred pieces per hour

to up to 3000, depending on the type of products being forged. According to Ken Copeland, president of Ajax-CECO, the vast majority of project requests today involve some aspect of automation. “About 90% of the time we talk to customers today, they want equipment that has an automation component,” says Copeland.
140 Years of History Ajax-CECO, as it is now known, is one of the oldest manufacturers of forging equipment, having begun operations in 1875. In its more than 140 years of history, the company has built and put into production more than 6,000 horizontal and vertical forging presses. In 2005, the company purchased the intellectual property of the Chambersburg Engineering Company and now manufactures and supports both brands of equipment. According to Copeland, most of the automation requests are for control consoles or some type of material handling and conveying equipment to bring the steel into the machine, move it around as needed for heating and forging, then finally deposit the finished item into a bin when completed. In the most advanced examples, entire forging line “cells” can be created that include sophisticated communications that report production rates and machine performance back to company networks. This demand, Copeland adds, applies to both new and existing forging equipment. “It is not uncommon for a customer that has, or acquires, an older model of equipment to send it to us to be rebuilt or remanufactured while adding automation upgrades to it,” says Copeland.
To continue to leverage their investment in their existing equipment, Modern Forge decided to update and upgrade the consoles on its drop hammers to improve performance, given they run their equipment hard and at very tight tolerances. “We had some very good hammer units with some very outdated controls,” said Wade Ferguson, maintenance manager at Modern Forge. “We knew that if any of the parts in the consoles went down, we would be offline for a while.” Aware that the intellectual property of Chambersburg Engineering had been purchased by the Ajax Manufacturing Company, Ferguson decided to reach out to them for the automation upgrade. “Ajax-CECO was able to build the new panels, create the necessary software to run it and calibrate it all to our specific needs,” says Ferguson. According to Ferguson, Modern Forge of Tennessee will also possibly be installing a robot on its trim press later this year to handle production delays that were impacting the quality of the trim removal. After observing operators to determine how long it took to trim each part, they were able to determine that when they got tired, the work would slow considerably and they would get behind. When too much time passed between parts, the platters would cool off enough to making trimming difficult. Now, after the hammer operator completes the forging, the robot will pick up the item and trim it consistently each time.
“Forging companies like us are increasingly considering how we automate our presses to help our operators,” says Ferguson. “There is only so much an operator can do. With automation, robots and other motorized devices can move the part through the various stages of the process with more speed, safety and accuracy.” At the Eaton Corporation forging operation in Kearney, Nebraska, the company operates 26 Ajax-CECO 100 to 1300-ton forging presses. Eaton remains one of the top producers of engine valves and precision gears for the North American automotive industry. The Kearney facility also manufactures precision-forged parts for agriculture, marine, ATVs, automotive and heavy duty. As part of a two-stage process for creating its engine valves, a round steel slug is formed into an “onion-head” shape using a forging die press. The item is then transferred to a re-strike die where it is formed into the final product. For many years the transfer from the first to the second stage of the process was performed manually by an operator at the machine. Approximately 4 years ago, Eaton undertook a project to automate so that the operator only needs to push a button and a robotic arm completes the transfer. The upgrade was applied to 15 of the Ajax-CECO presses that were used specifically to produce the engine valves.
Adding Automation Modern Forge Tennessee is one of such companies. A hot steel forging company that makes motorcycle parts for Harley Davidson among other customers, Modern Forge uses Chambersburg (CECO) die forgers that date back to the 1980’s and weigh between 20 and 50 tons. The company has more than 7000 dies in its inventory.

Automation of material handling plays a key role in today's forging equipment solutions.
The primary driver for automating was worker safety, according to Randy Kreutzer, lead maintenance manager at Eaton. “You have a person sitting in front of a press that theoretically could be injured if something went wrong,” explains Kreutzer. “Now, we have them out of that scenario. They’re still there, but they are behind protective shields and only there in case adjustments need to made.” Kreutzer adds that there was a benefit in increased productivity as well, because it allowed Eaton to run two presses instead of just one. “We are constantly updating our equipment,” says Kreutzer. “The industry is moving past the mentality of having a man or a woman do all the manual labor and instead letting technology take over. That’s the drive in the industry right now.” For More Information: Call 440.497.5637; email info-sales@ajax-ceco.com; or visit them online at www.ajax-ceco.com.

Preventive Maintenance Servicing for Vehicle Scales Saves Time and Money Neglecting your scale can cost you profit By: Mark Conway, Fairbanks Scales Inc.
T
he goal of any vehicle scale service program should be to ensure that equipment stays in working order, with minimal downtime between service visits or the life of the product. The losses to revenue due to a scale failure can exceed the cost of maintenance. Adopting a comprehensive preventive maintenance program ultimately saves money over the long run. Owners should opt for a program with the level that fit their specific needs. The highest level may include parts, service visits and calibrations. For those facing little exposure to significant repairs, a basic option covering only calibrations may be the best fit.
The Difference Between Preventive Maintenance and General Servicing A general service visit is typically more specific in nature – a “tool in hand” service. Preventative maintenance includes this type of service, but also includes more interaction with a customer to understand the business and the role the equipment plays in it. Along with upkeep of equipment, preventative maintenance servicing takes into account such factors as heavy use periods, the value of supplying bench stock on difficult to acquire parts (so as to limit downtime), as well as strategies for repair if a breakdown occurs. In other words, preventative maintenance is a more holistic approach to service. It does not just look at the customer’s equipment in isolation from the operation, but sees the wider picture, including how the proper and efficient operation of the equipment (as well as breakdowns) affects the customers’ business. One final way of looking at the difference: General servicing puts out fires. Preventative maintenance servicing prevents them.
The Importance of Preventive Maintenance Programs In effect, a scale is a company’s cash register. Preventative scale maintenance directly equates to bottom line dollars. Neglecting to account for the longevity of equipment can result in significant future repairs. Problems generally do not stay static or improve over time – they usually get worse. When a small issue morphs into a significant problem, wholesale repairs must be performed.

These are often not budgeted for, so they result in unanticipated downtime, which often comes at a critical time. Downtime can be minimized or eliminated almost entirely by doing proper preventative service. In one case Fairbanks Scales recently worked on, a scale experienced significant structural damage due to rusting of critical components, resulting in the need for a $38,000 full rebuild. This customer had not regularly check his scale; had maintenance visits been performed, the issue would have been caught and small repairs could have been completed.
What To Look For In A Service Program There are two major types of service programs: open-end and closed-end. Open-end service is the type most often provided in the industrial weighing service industry. Service is paid for as required, also known as “pay as you go.” The service may consist of periodic inspections that are pre-scheduled to specific needs and requirements. It is called open-end because there is no limit to the total cost of repairs. When service is required, the customer contacts the service provider, the service provider requests a purchase order (as promise for payment for services) and, when

satisfied with financial arrangements, the service provider sends a technician to make the repairs. Once the service company determines the nature of the damage or failure, they may either give the customer an estimate for the total cost of the complete repair or repair the scale with the final cost of repairs unknown. An advantage of open-end service is that actual service costs may not exceed the amount budgeted. Some scales have a history of near-perfect performance and the need to cover any risks that may occur can outweigh the concern about unscheduled costs. On the negative side, a disadvantage of open-end service is that it is impossible to know what the costs will be. Although it may be possible to know the cost of scheduled calibrations, it is impossible to predict component failures. It is also impossible to prevent failure unless the cause is apparent at the time of an inspection. When there is a failure, policies and processes (work order requisitions, approvals, and purchase orders) may delay getting the equipment serviced. Open-end service can increase downtime, as service providers may have to check credit history for past-due service payments or other problems.
Another disadvantage is that parts and service repairs are typically warranted for a period of 90 days, so repeat failures could be financially catastrophic. Customers often postpone service for known problems with their scale because they do not want to spend the money during financially slow periods. This may result in additional failures, making the repair even more expensive. To make matters worse, these decisions are often made without a complete understanding of the financial impact an inaccurate scale can have. The losses due to a failure can exceed the cost of maintenance, but because they are not seen on an invoice, these actual costs are often ignored. Closed-end service plans are far less common in the industrial weighing market. They involve a fixed price for an annual agreement period. With a closed-end service plan, extra costs above the service contract amount are borne by the scale service provider. Large service providers are better able to take this risk, so this service plan type is less available with smaller scale companies. With a closed-end service plan, when service is required, it can be ordered without purchase order, requisition, or approvals, so a technician can be on site quickly. This is the fastest, simplest way to initiate service. The greatest benefit of a closed-end service agreement is reduced risk for the customer. Much like insurance, closed-end service agreements cover the cost of most failures. This allows the customer to spend less time making arrangements between purchasing and management when service is needed. It also builds a better relationship between the service provider and the end user of the scale because the service process is less cumbersome. Closed-end service can be tailored to provide various levels of service so coverage is customized to the customer’s preferred risk level. Technology has made closed-end service even more attractive. Some companies provide wireless monitoring of weighing system electronics’ accuracy, giving the service provider warning that proactive service repairs are required. Scale owners may receive notification on their smartphone that there is a scale error, but do not even need to call anyone because the service company has already dispatched a technician to fix the error. In addition, because scale owners can choose monthly, quarterly, or annual charges for the service, a closed-end agreement may also help scale owners budget for maintenance costs more accurately. There are few disadvantages of closed-end service. It would not work well for a service provider with limited resources, because the risk can be extreme and requires the company to have many closed-end service accounts in order to survive the bad scale scenario. For example, the Fairbanks Scales Guardian Service Plan is a “no surprises” service program with multiple levels to fit specific customer needs. The highest level of Guardian Service can be all-encompassing to include parts, service visits and calibrations. Customers with little exposure to significant repairs might choose a more basic option just covering calibrations. Revenue losses due to a scale failure can exceed the cost of maintenance. Preventive maintenance ends up saving in the long run. For more information, visit www.fairbanks.com

Optimize Material Handling with Custom Industrial Crating
U
S manufacturers invest time and money to ensure they make a high-quality product. All those resources go to waste, however, if they don't give the same amount of attention to transporting that product. When it comes to material handling, it's important to find a trusted provider who has your best interest in mind and the expertise to get you what you need. Timber Creek Resource is one such partner, providing custom-designed crates for companies around the United States. These innovative variations of the same wooden crating used since WWI are a reliable and cost-effective way to protect exceptionally heavy inventory.
Wirebound Crates Are Uniquely Durable, Versatile Material Handling Solutions Several decades ago, everything from furniture to ammunition was often stored and shipped in wirebound crates. After corrugated packaging entered the market for use in lighter-duty industries,

wirebound crates remained the best packaging solution for storing and transporting heavy materials in harsh conditions. Still today, the classic wirebound crate protects everything from rockets to electrical insulators along global supply chains. So how does a wirebound crate work? It’s a wooden structure held together by slats and a number of wires wrapped around it to secure the cargo. It’s a simple formula that allows engineers at Timber Creek Resource to tailor their designs according to the needs of the customer. That’s one of the reasons the wirebound has stuck around for so long. They’re a favored material handling solution for forging mills, heavy-machinery manufacturers, and the military because of the ability to customize and reinforce their wooden structure as needed. At Timber Creek Resource, one of the nation’s largest lumber wholesalers and custom industrial crating builders, packaging engineers have spent decades designing wirebound
crates to match any size or strength requirement. Using additional wires, ribs, and structural variations, customizing them is typically simple and cost-effective for the customer. Some of the available design variations offer greater storage and material handling flexibility. By reinforcing the corners on a wirebound crate, boxes containing heavy hydronic
boilers or multi-ton metal castings can be securely stacked without weakening the crates. Even when subject to freezing temperatures, intense humidity, or outdoor exposure, stacked wirebound crates maintain their strength for years. Their exceptional durability allows customers to safely implement a wide range of storage strategies for optimal workflow and inventory management.
This is one of the reasons customers in heavy industry prefer wirebound wooden crates to corrugated or OSB options. Even in dry storage facilities, corrugated packaging will lose its strength over time as it absorbs moisture out of the air. As a result, stacked corrugated boxes sometimes fail unexpectedly in storage facilities, potentially damaging warehouse infrastructure, inventory, or worse — injuring people. Wirebound crate expert at Timber Creek Resource, John Tomaino, has unfortunately seen this happen to some of their incoming customers. According to Tomaino, “we had a customer come to us for wirebound crates because of an accident at their facility that almost seriously hurt company executives during a tour of the plant. They were using corrugated boxes to store heavy metal castings, stacked high up. And of course, the day of the tour, those boxes failed and you had these extremely heavy parts fall to the ground just a few feet from the tour group. But one of our wirebound boxes sitting right next to the corrugated one had stayed intact, so they decided that from now on they would need to rely on those instead.” Another key benefit of the wirebound’s customizable design improves shipping and handling. The wooden slats securing the walls of the box can either be tightly sealed to prevent leakage or left open for post-packaging access to the product inside. When intentionally constructed, open spaces in the wirebound crate’s design allow products to be inspected for damage during shipping, allowing material handling operations to address any mishaps before they disrupt the supply chain. Wirebound crating is logistically economical, too. It’s reusable from manufacturer to distributor and can be shipped flat at around 500 pieces to a truckload, making wirebound crating particularly suitable for high-volume, heavy-duty material handling needs. However, the full range of heavy-duty packaging options isn’t restricted to the wirebound design. Timber Creek Resource also leverages its unique engineering capabilities to produce another type of industrial wooden crate to serve the unique needs of their heavy industry customers. The Collapsible Hinged-Corner Crate Streamlines Material Handling When securely crating fully assembled machinery or large and extremely heavy materials, the process can be laborintensive and time-consuming to complete. Hefting the crating components needed to support and store heavy products also requires additional employees per project for safe manual assembly. This is where the hinged-corner crate demonstrates its value: it helps heavy industry streamline packaging processes without the need to invest in extensive automation or additional material handling equipment. Like the wirebound, the hinged-corner crate is reusable, exceptionally durable, and capable of withstanding the elements for long periods of time. Instead of using wires and loops to secure the wooden structure, a hinged-corner crate folds open like a carton. This innovative design allows packaging assemblers to efficiently slip the lightweight crate over the top of a finished product, just needing to nail the top and bottom, saving time and money during the packaging process. When not in use, the hinged-corner crate is collapsible for convenient, space-saving storage. The lighter-than-plywood construction of a hinged-corner crate is also highly customizable. At its location in Wausau, Wisconsin, Timber Creek Resource offers metal tab or ultra-tough nylon strap hinges, depending on the needs of the customer. When crating exceptionally large products, such as heavy farming equipment or utility vehicles, Timber Creek Resource will typically build a variation of the hingedcorner crate called a half-tube design, consisting of two separately hinged pieces. Once slipped around either side of the product, the separate components are then nailed together for a secure fit. Given that the capacity of hingedcorner crates is completely scalable, larger half-tube crates are just as proportionately sturdy as their smaller counterparts. Timber Creek Resource also uses their ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) certified lab for tests that measure how the crates will hold up to the shaking and vibrating that comes with long-distance

transport. For those who truly need to see it to believe it, product demos and samples of hinged-corner crates are also available upon request. According to Dave Thurs, an industrial packaging expert at Timber Creek Resource, the primary reason customers switch to the hinged-corner crate is because, “It's lighter and less bulky than a standard plywood option, but stronger and more durable than OSB or corrugated options.” The uniquely space efficient yet sturdy hinged-corner crate offers the best of both worlds. Finding an effective and cost-efficient industrial packaging solution for heavy industry doesn’t require reinventing the wheel — but it does call for packaging
expertise to find the option that works best for the application. Luckily there are reliable partners like Timber Creek Resource providing quality solutions to protect the product you work so hard to perfect. For more information, visit www.tcrllc.com

Robotic Singulator From MHS
NORTON QUANTUM3™ Rightcut Cut-Off Wheels
MHS combines advanced computer vision, controls, gripping technology and a five-axis delta robot to automate the task of singulating items in preparation for sorter induction. Ideal for parcel processing operations handling bulk quantities of smaller-size packages, the robot uses proprietary vision software and algorithms to pick individual items from bulk flow then properly orient them and place them in a single-file stream for downstream processes. The solution uses a vacuum-based end effector with a variety of suction cups to reliably handle packaging types commonly found in e-commerce and parcel processing environments, from rigid corrugate cases to malleable polybags.
Norton QUANTUM3™ RightCut Wheels add cut-off capability to its Norton QUANTUM3™ (NQ3) line which also includes Depressed Center Grinding Wheels and Combination Wheels. In comparison tests, NQ3 RightCut Wheels have several key benefits over competitive wheels. True to the Norton Quantum3 technology, and its previously released NQ3 wheels, the new Norton Quantum3 RightCut wheels are designed with the operator in mind. It boasts a more rounded grain than precision-shaped ceramic grains found in the market today. Being rounded allows for faster cutting action, with less vibration, which is instrumental in reducing operator fatigue when cutting metal all day.
