4-Wire Access Reader Module Series ER 600 Intercom modules in analogue 4-wire technology, for speech and access solutions in entrance or transit areas. Designed to match the design of the Siedle Vario series. The modules can be mounted on their own or assembled into several Intercom stations. This way doors, gates and similar areas are included in the Intercom System. Sophisticated, modern and in contemporary design, for inside and outside areas. The access reader module for contactless reading of access codes is based on Mifare® technology. Available as build-in PCB
or integrated in an attractive housing. A ring of red, green and blue LEDs is used for visual user guidance. The reader modules are equipped with three inputs for floating contacts as well as one relay output. With the dedicated software, ComAccess Light, the electronic key IDs (TAG IDs) are read-in, administered, assigned to access codes and allocated to the users. You can also set the brightness of the reader LEDs and the buzzer volume. 5. TAG-1

Installation PRECAUTIONS
CONNECTION
• Per door station a maximum of 123 access codes can be programmed. This means, also when an ER 661A / ERT 661A (storage capacity of up to 1,700 TAGs) is in use, there is a restriction of 123 codes per door station (but it is possible to allocate one code to multiple TAGs). • The buzzer of the access reader module is only audible when reading a valid TAG/code. In case of an invalid TAG/code, an error tone is given out at the analogue station. This means, if the module is operated without an analogue station, then no acoustic indication is possible when reading an invalid TAG. • If an access reader module is connected to an analogue station, the button resp. keypad of the station cannot be used anymore (because of the data transmission over the lines A,B,C,D). A required button thus has to be connected to one of the three inputs (IN1, IN2, IN3) of the access reader module (“Input initiates dialling“). • An access reader module of series ER 600 cannot be combined with a display station (this means stations with display controller, e.g. ET 411, EE 411)! • During an operation of an analogue station with a connected access reader module, the conversation lamp of the station is blinking in a time interval of 8 seconds (because of the “alive message”). • Observe the precautions for handling of electrostatic sensitive devices. • The modules may only be installed by authorised service engineers.
OUT OUT
Subscriber Central 12–35 VDC 12–24 VAC
D C B A DC– AC AC/DC+
IN1 IN2 IN3 GND
Subscriber • If an access reader module is used in combination with an analogue station (e.g. ET 661), the terminals A,B,C,D of the access reader module are connected directly with the terminals A,B,C,D of the station. Door opener contact • Due to security reasons, it is recommended to use relay outputs of the Intercom Server. But it is also possible to use the relay output (changeover contact) of the access reader module.

Access Control SYSTEM OVERVIEW
LED INDICATION
Access control via the ER 600 series access reader modules operates as depicted in the following diagram:
The 3-colour LEDs on the ER 661/ER 661A and ERT 661/ ERT 661A indicate the current operating state.
• ComAccess Light and CCT administer all access rights
Note: The brightness of the LEDs can be set via the program ComAccess Light.
• Intercom Server controls the door opener contacts (CCT) • Translation table of the electronic key IDs (TAGs) and access codes is stored in the access reader (ComAccess Light)
Following example shows an access control system with the following components: • Intercom Server GE 700 • Analogue Intercom module ET 661 (Siedle design)

ACOUSTIC SIGNALS TAG
The available acoustic signals (buzzer of access reader, error tone at analogue station) are signalling “access accepted” or “access refused”.

Acoustic Signal
There is a setting in the ComAccess Light program to enable the device for offline operations. This means that even in the event of a defective or non-existent connection to the Intercom Server, the access control works via the ER 600 series‘ access reader modules. This means that even in the event of a mains power failure, emergency operation is available.

Attention: • For an offline operation, the relevant door opener contact has to be connected to the relay output (changeover contact) of the access reader module. • In offline mode, access refusals are not indicated visually and acoustically.
