Trigger Adding Intelligence to Video Surveillance
Embedded Processor for Video Detection and Transmission Product Description
TriggerTM converts surveillance cameras into smart real-time sensors as the front-end of a perimeter and site protection systems. The trigger answers the need for a compact, low-power and affordable video detection and transmission product. Trigger 4 is a powerful video content analysis engine, using a pair of Digital Signal Processors (DSP) to concurrently analyze 4 video inputs with audio-video encoding Trigger 2 uses a single DSP for 2 video inputs. Trigger primarily targets remote locations, enabling video capture, image sequence analysis for automatic event detection and video transmission over an existing IP infrastructure. Trigger intelligently processes video, hereby increasing detection accuracy and fault tolerance while reducing network bandwidth. Video may be streamed to the control center on event or on demand. A virtually unlimited number of Trigger units can be managed by Cortex Video Analytics Management System
Basic Video Detection Features
Trigger video detection rules comprise six key features found most useful in building video-based perimeter and outdoor site protection systems: >> Motion Detection >> Static Object Detection >> Path Detection >> Presence Detection >> Directional Motion >> Object Started Up to five video detection rules (any of the above) can run concurrently on any video input, with the detection zone for each rule as large as the entire field of view.
Video and Audio Transmission
With its high computational efficiency, Trigger not only performs video content analysis, but also supports video and audio transmission.Dual audio ports allow not only listening but also passing voice commands to local security and warnings to intruders. Video in the form of MJPEG images can be sent to multiple clients upon demand. Trigger can be configured to send alarms and video images in MJPEG format to the IntellexTM IP network video recorder (NVR). The video images are recorded on the NVR with the corresponding alarms and optional alarm tags that can be used to facilitate search for a specific event. This integration between the Trigger and the NVR creates a complete video capture, analytics, encoding and 24x7 recording system with advanced capabilities for after the fact event search and playback.

Networked Alarm Video Storage
TriggerÂ’s ability to store alarm video images is extended with the Alarm Video Clip Server (AVCS) PC. When an alarm occurs, the pre and post alarm video images, with object tracking overlay, are sent to the AVCS for later review by the video management system.
Data and Control Interfaces
Trigger connects to the security information network via an Ethernet port that it used to receive video detection rules and other setup information, It also transmits video images with or without object tracking overlay, sends alarm pictures and descriptions as well as bidirectional audio. The Ethernet port is used to perform software updates and upgrades. GPIO alarm ports allow the Trigger to receive external alarms from sensors, and to activate external devices such as sirens via relays upon event detection. The Metadata Server implemented in the Trigger helps technology partners integrate information from the Trigger into their application. The level of integration varies from alarm notifications up to system monitoring capability, alarm snap-shots and video clips.
Management Software
CortexTM is a video analytics management system used to simultaneously manage numerous live video alarms, from multiple Trigger units or from other Video Detection Units (VDUs). Main Cortex capabilities include: >> Remote setup of detection zones, video detection rules and time-based schedules. >> Live video and alarm display with object tracking overlay >> Event table for alarm browsing with alarm snap shot image >> Event review and search tools >> Management of viewing policies and permissions >> Multi site status display with indication of disconnected or alarmed sites >> Bi-directional audio transmission >> Map based alarm display with multiple map and zooming capabilities
