REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
HOW TO REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS:
You must have an account set up in our Recreation system in order to register for programs.
If you already have an account in our Recreation system you may register online at www.southamptonrecreation.net, by phone or in person during business hours at the Parks and Recreation Office, 6 Newtown Rd., Hampton Bays, (631) 728-8585.
If you do not have an account in our Recreation system you may open one by submitting proof of residency, proof of age for children and your phone number to ParksandRec@southamptontownny.gov. Please call (631) 728-8585 if you need to verify whether you have an account with us already. Non-Residents may also open accounts however may not be eligible to register for all programs.
PROOF OF RESIDENCY:
To open a Resident account in our registration system, residents and/or taxpayers must provide one of the following: current driver’s license with Southampton Town address, current Southampton Town tax bill, recorded deed showing purchase of property within the year, or utility bills (electric or cable) with a Southampton Town address dated at least 12 months prior to application date. Children’s proof of age, birth certificate or passport are acceptable. Leases are not accepted as proof of residency.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Pre-registration with payment is required for all recreation programs, except where noted in program descriptions. Program fees cannot be pro-rated. A program refund will be granted only if the request is made at least five (5) business days prior to the start of a program, or if we cancel a program due to insufficient enrollment or other reason. If payment is made with a credit card, your card will be refunded automatically. If payment is made with cash or check you must request a refund in person. A $25.00 service fee will be charged for all checks returned by the bank.
All persons participating in Town of Southampton sponsored recreation programs participate at their own risk. Participants are advised to consult with their physician prior to enrollment and participation in activities which may be strenuous. Participants must meet age requirements prior to the start of the program.

2. Enter your email address and click reset password.
3. An email will be sent to you to create a new password.
4. Once you create your new password you can begin to register for programs.

NEW Functional Mobility - No more body aches
Functional mobility training aims to improve both flexibility and mobility ensuring that our bodies can move freely and efficiently in various activities and tasks, ultimately enhancing our overall physical performance and reducing the risk of injuries. Mobility includes physical stamina, strength, balance, coordination, and range of motion. This may help old injuries and arthritis. No more stiff or clicking joints. It will be adapted for all fitness levels and safe for all adults. Participants need to bring water; sneakers are required. ALL LEVELS WELCOME!

Pickle Play - A Social Round Robin
Pickleball League is intended for a level 3.0 or 4.0 players. Must have ability to volley at a medium pace. Must know rules of the game as well as basic ability. Participants must bring their own paddle. This is a Beginner social league. Each game will be 12 minutes long and then rotate around mix and match. If weather conditions cause a cancellation, every effort will be made to schedule make-up games; however, due to unpredictable weather, make-up games cannot be guaranteed.

After School Programs Flanders Youth Center
• Advanced Chess Club - The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s Advanced Chess Club will be held on Tuesdays (September 17th – December 17th) from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Rd. Program is $40 for a 12 class session – space is limited and pre-registration is required! Students in grades K – 8 will be taught to challenge themselves, build self-confidence, meet new friends, reduce stress, and learn strategy & discipline through the game of Chess.
• Kids Cooking Club - The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will host “Kids Cooking Club” on Thursdays (October 24th – December 19th) from 4:30pm – 6:00pm at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Participants in grades 4 – 8 will learn the basics of culinary and kitchen safety skills with Chef Keith. Chef Keith has a Masters Degree in Social Work along with decades of experience working with youth. His curriculum will also focus on the principles of social and emotional education. Program cost is $125 for a seven-week session - scholarships are available. Space is very limited and pre-registration is required!
• Basketball Clinic at SYS - The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will be sponsoring a Basketball Clinic at Southampton Youth Services (SYS), 1370a Majors Path on Fridays from 5:00pm - 7:00pm (September 13th 2024 – December 20th 2024). Program will not be held on October 4th & November 29th. Clinic is open to grades 7 - 12 and the cost is $50 for all 13 sessions. • Extreme Rec Day - The Southampton Youth Bureau and Southampton Youth Services will be teaming up to host their annual Extreme Rec Day on Monday, November 11th from 10:00am – 3:00pm (Sign-in at 9:45am) at Southampton Youth Services, 1370a Majors Path. Children in grades K - 6 will enjoy a day filled with inflatables, arts & crafts, board games, movies, basketball and much more! Admission is $25 per participant which includes lunch, snacks, and refreshments. Early morning drop off at 8:00am is available for $35 (breakfast not included). Space is limited and is available on a first come first, first served basis - Register Early! Pre-registrations must be submitted by Monday, November 4th. Walk-in registrations will not be allowed and refunds cannot be issued for this event.
• Lights Out! Glow Night at SYS - The Southampton Youth Bureau will host a Glow Night on Friday, December 6th from 7:30pm – 10:00pm at Southampton Youth Services, 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. The illuminated gym will feature glow in the dark games such as basketball, Capture the Flag, soccer, volleyball and more! Event is open to grades 6 – 12 and participants are encouraged to wear white or bright neon colors to see the full effect from the UV black-lights! Admission is $10 per person and transportation is available from select locations. Preregistration is required if transportation is needed. Space is limited!

Start Earning Community Service Credits Open to Middle & High School Students
• Youth Advisory Committee - The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau is recruiting new members to join their Youth Advisory Committee for the 2024 - 2025 school year! If you are in grades 7th through 12th and interested in planning trips and events, participating in community service projects, and making friends with students from other schools, then sign up for YAC! As a YAC member, you can make a difference in your community. Community service projects may include leaf raking for senior citizens, hosting a clothing or toy drive, participating in fundraisers for other youth organizations, meeting with elected officials for youth causes, or other activities that can make a difference in our community. Areas of involvement may include legislative change, civil liberties, environmental activism, and music and arts. Youth Advisory Committee is a great way to get involved and to earn community service credit hours during the school year. Meetings will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The first official meeting begins September 10th at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue. Pre-registration is required!
• Youth Court - Southampton Town’s Youth Court is a great way to earn community service credits and build your college resume! High school students from local schools work together to hold real trials for juvenile offenders, where all the facts of the case are heard and the jury decides on a disposition, or “sentence”, for the offender to repair the harm that they have caused to the victims. Cases range from trespassing, driving without a license, underage drinking to harassment, possession, and theft - among others. Students in grades 9 - 12 living or attending school in the Town of Southampton can participate. Those who are interested in becoming an attorney, improving public speaking skills, learning about the justice system, building their college/job resume or just enjoy community service are invited to join. General youth court meetings are held on Mondays from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at the Southampton Town Justice Court, 32 Jackson Ave – Transportation may be available upon request. New member training will be held on Monday, October 7th!

• Teen Views - The Southampton Youth Bureau is currently accepting new member registrations for their “Teen Views” program. Participants will learn how to interview, create credible stories, film & edit video, and produce content for television and other media. Program begins Thursday, October 10th – Pre-registration is required. Meetings will be held on Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Ave. Teen Views is open to grades 7 - 12 and community service credits are available! Transportation is available upon request..
• Youth and Government - Registration is now open for The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s “Youth and Government” program sponsored by the Alliance of NYS YMCAs. Students in grades 9 - 12 will have the opportunity to develop their own bills to amend legislation as well as discuss and debate issues that affect citizens of New York State. The program will culminate in a three-day statewide conference in Albany where students will deliberate in the chambers of the NYS Legislature. The Southampton Youth Bureau’s Youth & Government program begins Wednesday, October 16th. Meetings will be held every other Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue.

Senior Shuttle
The Town of Southampton Essential Services/Handicapped Transportation Program is designed to aid homebound persons and non-driving residents of the township with transportation to and from such basic essential services as shopping, banking, non-emergency medical appointments, visits to governmental agencies, and hospital visitation of a sick spouse. Advance reservations are required.

Senior Centers and Home Delivered Meals
Meals are provided in the bright and cheerful setting of our own facilities. Many social, cultural, educational and recreation opportunities are offered at our centers. Additionally, an appealing, nutritionally balanced meal is served daily at noontime for a suggested donation of $3.50. Computers are available at all 3 centers for your use.
Round-trip transportation is available.
Meals can also be provided to your home on a temporary or long-term basis five days per week for homebound seniors for a suggested contribution of $3.50

**NEW PROGRAM - Shopping Assistance Program
We are pleased to announce our new Senior Shopping Assistance Program. This service is for seniors who are essentially homebound, with mobility issues and those who lack the support to meet their shopping needs. Seniors will be assessed to determine whether the shopping program is needed and the level and/or frequency of the assistance. Please call Randy at (631) 728-1235 for more information.
“Vial of Life” Program
The Vial of Life program is a free program designed for seniors and individuals with serious medical conditions to provide pertinent medical information to emergency personnel who respond to home emergencies. A “Vial of Life” contains the medical history needed by the responding emergency personnel, such as existing medical conditions, allergies and medications currently being taken. “Vial of Life” participants complete a Medical Information Form that is placed on the refrigerator. A “Vial of Life” decal is then placed on the front door in plain view for emergency personnel to alert them that medical information is located inside the home. Residential Repair Program
The Town of Southampton offers a Residential Repair Program for residents age 60 and over, who are homeowners or renters. This program provides household assistance with chores that do not require the skills of a licensed craftsperson. This is not an emergency service. Call (631) 728-1235 for a list of the types of repairs that can be provided and to schedule an appointment with our repairperson. You pay for needed materials only.

Mah Jongg Club
The original Mah Jongg game is a board game for four players somewhat similar to the card game “Gin Rummy”, but played with tiles instead of cards. Recently a growing number of people are realizing the intellectual challenge Mah Jongg poses and the beauty and excitement of the game itself. Come and join the fun of the ancient Chinese Tile Game. Knitting & Crocheting Circle
We knit infant caps and blankets for local hospitals and the Stony Brook University Hospital NICU. We are looking for you to share your creative talents and invite you to knit, crochet, quilt or sew a blanket or hat. Your generous gifts will envelop a child in love. Please bring your own knitting/crocheting needles and current projects. You can also work on other projects as well.

Defensive Driving Course
Senior Services in conjunction with Empire Safety Council is offering a 1-day 6hr defensive driving class. Completing this course may save up to 10% on your insurance. There will be a break included.
