The Parks & Recreation Department also offer a wide variety of recreational programs for residents of all ages, from preschoolers to senior citizens, at locations throughout Southampton Town. COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTERS
& Town Buildings
PINE NECK MARINA PARK: Josiah Foster Path, East Quogue
This facility features 14 floating dock slips, vessels not to exceed 30 feet. Power and water available away from docks. Pine Neck Marine Park Off Leash Area for dogs which consists of 6ft fenced area for large dogs' 6 ft fenced area for small dogs ( under25lbs), double gated entrance with transition space, dog waste bags and receptacles, water fountain with dog bowl (to be installed Spring 2021).
BAY AVENUE MARINA: 33 Bay Avenue, East Quogue
Purchased by the Town in 2007 with Community Preservation Funds, this facility features a newly renovated bulkhead, 12 floating dock slips for boats 25 feet and smaller. Power and water available away from docks.
SQUIRETOWN PARK: 62 Red Creek Road, Hampton Bays
This facility is home to the Squiretown Lodge, where many recreational programs are held each year.
PARKS & RECREATION OFFICE: 6 Newtown Road, Hampton Bays
Located on the Shinnecock Canal, this facility houses the administrative arm of the Parks & Recreation Department. Beach permits distribution, recreational program registration and a variety of additional services are available at this facility. It is open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
TIANA BEACH ACTIVITY
CENTER: 72 Dune Road, Hampton Bays
With access to the Atlantic Ocean, this seasonal facility is used for town recreational programming. It is also available for rent to residents wishing to host events at this location. The facility can accommodate up to a total of 150 people inside and out combined. The facility has a prep kitchen, bathrooms, stage, gas fire pit and wrap-around decking.
TIANA BAYSIDE RECREATION FACILITY & MARINE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH CENTER: 89 Dune Road, Hampton Bays
Located across the road from Tiana Beach Oceanside, this facility is presently the main site for Town sponsored swimming lessons, sailing, kayaking and wind surfing instruction programs. The Town has also partnered with Cornell Cooperative Extension on a marine stewardship and education center. Also offering oyster gardening program. Features: Boat tie-up facilities on Tiana Bay (max. boat size 25 feet), weekend daytime docking for boater access to Tiana Beach Oceanside (5-hour limit), restrooms, 156 parking spaces. Unsupervised waterfront. No Lifeguard on duty.
RED CREEK PARK ACTIVITY CENTER: 102 Old Riverhead Road, Hampton Bays
A heated building with access to restrooms, kitchen and 2000-sq.-ft. of activity space. Tables and chairs are available for use. Town residents may reserve the building for a fee. See section on Red Creek Park for details. Call the Parks & Recreation Department (631) 728-8585 for building use.
SOUTHAMPTON RECREATION CENTER AT NORTH SEA COMMUNITY PARK: 1370A Majors Path, North Sea
This 55,000-sq.-ft indoor sports facility was built by Southampton Youth Services (SYS lnc.) on 5-acres of Town-owned land within North Sea Community Park. The Recreation Center houses basketball/volleyball courts and a soccer/lacrosse/roller hockey field that also can be utilized as a collegiate size basketball court. Golf cages, batting cages, aerobics and exercise studio, fitness room and a little league room with a pitching area are also available. The Town’s Youth Bureau operates a drop-in youth center within the recreation center and a “Community Room” is available for public use. Another 10 acres of land has been designated for sports fields to be built by the Town. For more information about use and programming at the indoor Recreation Center call SYS at (631) 287-1511.
PARKS & BEACH ORDINANCES
Rules For Facility Use Permits For Town Beaches, Beach Parties, And Gatherings
It is the Town of Southampton’s goal to encourage our residents and taxpayers to enjoy beach access areas as much as possible. However, this use must be controlled in order to ensure that our resources are properly protected. All Town bathing beaches are closed to the public between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 am, from May 15th through September 15th, unless a Facility Use Permit or an after hours Fishing Permit is issued by the Parks & Recreation Department. Other regulations may apply to access roads designated as “Parking by Permit Only” areas.
GUIDELINES FOR FACILITY USE PERMITS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• Permit will be issued only to Town residents and taxpayers 18 years and older. Proof of residency and age are required.
• Events needing Facility Use Permits at beaches and access roads shall not begin before 6 p.m., and shall not last beyond 11 p.m.
• Injurious substances, bonfires, fireworks, and glass bottles are prohibited at all times. Alcohol beverages are prohibited except when a permit is issued in writing by the Parks & Recreation Department or Town Board.
GUIDELINES FOR OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
TENTS: Other than small sunshade, or small 10x10 portable units, tents are prohibited without a Facility Use Permit from the Parks & Recreation Department and the Southampton Town Fire Marshal. At no time shall tents, large or small, be erected prior to 6 p.m., when duly authorized.
MUSIC: Music, bands, DJ’s, or any amplified sound systems are prohibited. Small portable stereo units are allowed if volume is maintained at a reasonable level.
FIRES: Bonfires on the sand are prohibited. Small charcoal or wood fires, in a metal container, are allowed by Facility Use Permit. Gas grills are also allowed. All charcoal and wood fires must be put out with water and be disposed of properly. Fires, of any type, are ONLY allowed after 6:00 p.m.

CLEAN-UP: All litter shall be removed from the beach and disposed of properly. If Town garbage cans at the beach are full, garbage must be removed from the location by the Facility Use Permit holder and be disposed of in a proper manner.
VEHICLES: Unless otherwise permitted in writing by the Parks & Recreation Department, all vehicles parked at Town bathing beaches between 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. are required to have a valid beach-parking permit. 4x4 vehicles are prohibited on any Town beach without a valid 4x4 permit issued by the Board of Trustees.
CATERERS: Permits will not be issued to caterers/event planners for beach parties, all permits MUST be submitted by the resident/ taxpayer only and proof of such status is provided. Resident MUST be in attendance of party. A 4x4 permit from Trustees is also required.
RESTROOMS: Will NOT be available after 5 p.m., Groups of over 50 people must contract for a porta-lav at their own expense. The unit must be delivered the afternoon of the event and removed the morning after the event.

Residents may obtain a Facility Use Permit for beach activity after 6 p.m. Beer and wine for events after hours permitted only under a separate Alcohol Permit.
DOG POLICY AT PARKS, BEACHES & TRAILS
Rules and regulations governing dogs and other domestic animals on Town property are as follows:
BEACH RECREATION FACILITIES: Permitted at Town bathing beaches “off-season” from October 1st until April 1st. Dogs must be under control of owner or other responsible person at all times and any animal waste must be removed. Dogs are prohibited all other times at all Town bathing beaches, except for the Foster Memorial Beach (Long Beach) parking lot in Noyac and all access roads.
“PARKING BY PERMIT ONLY” ACCESS ROADS (BOTH TOWN AND TRUSTEE): Dogs are prohibited from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from April 1st through October 1st. Dogs must be under control of owner or other responsible person at all times and any animal waste must be removed. Additional restrictions may apply if posted as a Special Management Concern Area.
UPLAND PARKS: Permitted at all times if animal is leashed and under control of the owner or other responsible person and any animal waste is removed. Exception: At Red Creek Park where dogs are permitted on marked “Dog Route” walking trails only and at Pine Neck Marine Park off leash area. Dogs are prohibited in picnic areas, sports fields, playground areas and other areas where posted by the Town Parks Director of Parks & Recreation at any Town Parks Recreation Facility.
TRAILS: Permitted at all times if animal is under control of owner or other responsible person and any animal waste is removed. Leashing is not required on Town trails.

PIKES BEACH: 769 Dune Road, Westhampton
Acquired by the Town in July 1952 and operated as a bathing beach until 1994 when a hurricane washed away road access. Pikes was reopened in 2001 after the parking facilities and comfort stations were restored. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, handicap beach access, 57 parking spaces for the ocean, 129 parking spaces for the bayside.
TIANA BEACH OCEANSIDE: 90 Dune Rd., Hampton Bays
This bathing beach facility was purchased in December 1957 and has over 1,000 feet of shorefront. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, food concession, large outdoor deck with picnic tables, beach volleyball courts, 847 parking spaces.
PONQUOGUE BEACH: 276 Dune Road, Hampton Bays
Acquired by the Town in July 1952, this picturesque bathing beach is one of the most popular family spots in the Town with over 600 feet of ocean shoreline. Ponquogue Beach is often filled to capacity during summer weekends. Facility fully renovated for 2019 Summer season. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, food concessions, large outdoor deck with picnic tables, beach volleyball courts, 478 on ocean side/ 84 bayside parking spaces, handicap beach access, a beach wheelchair available.
FLYING POINT BEACH: 1055 Flying Point Road, Water Mill
This popular bathing beach facility has 250 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline. The original parcel was donated to the Town in March 1952 by the Burnett Family. No daily parking permits are available at this bathing beach. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY FULL-SEASON PERMITS ACCEPTED AT THIS BATHING BEACH. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, mobile concession, beach volleyball courts, handicap parking, 178 parking spaces.
W. SCOTT CAMERON BEACH: 425 Dune Road, Bridgehampton
This beach was dedicated for the use of the residents and taxpayers in March 1968. In addition to its 300 feet of ocean frontage, this bathing beach also overlooks Mecox Bay. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, beach volleyball court, 58 parking spaces. PLEASE NOTE: RESIDENT ONLY FULL-SEASON PERMITS ACCEPTED AT THIS BATHING BEACH.
MECOX BEACH: 535 Jobs Lane, Bridgehampton
Mecox Beach was acquired by the Town in July 1952. Nestled amid some of the East End’s premier architecture with over 250 feet of ocean shoreline, this bathing beach is a popular spot for residents and non-residents alike. Features: Lifeguard protection, outdoor shower, restrooms, mobile food concession, beach volleyball court, 122 parking spaces.
SAGG MAIN BEACH: 315 Sagg Main Road, Sagaponack
Acquired by Southampton Town in 1958, the facilities at this bathing beach were completely renovated in 1993 and upgraded again in 2006. This is the eastern-most of the Town’s beaches, as well as the largest with over 1,500 feet of Ocean shoreline. Features: Lifeguard protection, outdoor shower, restrooms, deck with picnic tables, mobile food concession, handicap parking, 170 parking spaces.
FOSTER MEMORIAL BEACH: 1000 Long Beach Road, Noyac
Commonly known as “Long Beach,” this bathing beach offers visitors over one mile of shorefront on scenic Noyac Bay. The parking area is a popular spot for walking, biking and in-line skating. Long Beach was acquired by the Town in December 1949 from the family of Clifford J. Foster. Town sponsored sailing, kayaking and windsurfing instruction offered at selected times during the summer. Features: Lifeguard protection, restrooms, outdoor shower, mobile concession, separate sailboat and power boat areas, marked swim area, 419 parking spaces, handicap beach access, a beach wheelchair available.

HAMPTON WEST PARK: 700 Stewart Avenue, Westhampton
Located across from Suffolk County Gabreski Airport in the Central Pine Barrens area, this 15-acre site has been developed as an active park recreation facility for the western areas of the Town of Southampton. Home to Little League and youth soccer clubs, this community park is open to all Town residents and taxpayers. Features: Playground, 2 basketball courts, 4 asphalt tennis courts, a turf little league field, and soccer fields, 2 pickelball courts, ample parking.
LUDLAM AVENUE PARK: 239 Ludlam Avenue, Riverside
Acquired by the Town in 1982, this neighborhood park was developed to provide active recreational facilities for the Flanders, Riverside and Northampton area. Features: Playground, 2 basketball courts, irrigated soccerfields, restrooms, picnic tables, ample parking, Youth Bureau program site.
FLANDERS MEMORIAL PARK: Route 24, Flanders
Small hamlet green dedicated as a memorial to deceased members of the Armed Services and deceased members of the Flanders Volunteer Fire Department. Features: Benches, monuments, parking.
FLANDERS COMMUNITY PARK AT IRON POINT:

Purchased by the Town in February 2002, this 144-acre property is adjacent to the Great Peconic Bay. Located between Evergreen Avenue and Wood road Trail, this park recreation facility has a lighted championship Little League field, playground, and restrooms.
WILDWOOD LAKE PARK: 3939 Lake Avenue, Northampton
This property, located adjacent to Wildwood Lake, was acquired by the Town in 2003 with Community Preservation Funds and is a neighborhood park. Features: Restrooms, PARKING BY PERMIT AT ALL TIMES 6AM TO 9PM, NO PARKING 9PM TO 6AM. PARK CLOSES 9PM (Town Code Chapter 312-62), Unsupervised waterfront. No lifeguard on duty.

The development of this facility began in 1980 with the construction of the Town’s first lighted softball field. Centrally located in the Town of Southampton, this regional park facility is easily accessible from most parts of the Town. Red Creek Park is comprised of 45 acres dedicated to active recreation. Features: 5-ball fields, 2-lighted championship softball fields, lighted Turf Little League field, lighted hockey rink, 4 pickleball courts on hockey rink , skate park, 2-volleyball courts, 2-basketball courts, 6 tennis courts, a soccer/football field, 2 playgrounds, walking trails, restrooms, an indoor activity center and an outdoor covered picnic pavilion.The Southampton Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is also located at the park.
Residents may reserve the athletic facilities at Red Creek Park by completing a Facility Use Permit application and payment of the application user fees. Reservations are subject to the availability of facilities and all fees are to be paid at time of reservation. One free scheduled rain date is allowed. No refund of fees paid.

RED CREEK PARK ACTIVITY CENTER & PICNIC PAVILION
The Activity Center and the Picnic Pavilion at Red Creek Park are both available for rent to residents only under a Facilities Use Permit. For more information on reserving facilities, please call the Park & Recreation Department at (631) 728-8585.
ACTIVITY CENTER is available for parties or gatherings. In addition to a kitchen with refrigeration (no stove), there are tables and chairs available for use. Accommodates up to 98 people. Rental fee is $200 up to 50ppl and $250 for groups 51ppl and up. A $100 security deposit required. You may choose one 5-hour time slot either 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
PICNIC PAVILION accommodates up to 100 people for outdoor parties in a covered area. Gas grill can be brought to Red Creek Park for cooking at the picnic pavilion. The rental fee is - $125 up to 50ppl and $175 for 51ppl and up. You may choose one 5-hour time slot from either 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

EDWARD J. WARNER, SR. OLD PONQUOGUE BRIDGE MARINE PARK: 275 Dune Road, Hampton Bays
When Suffolk County completed construction on the new Ponquogue Bridge in 1986, the north and south approaches of the old drawbridge, built in 1930, were left for fishing access into Shinnecock Bay. The piers were nearly destroyed by Super-storm Sandy in 2012. With funding from FEMA the fishing piers were rebuilt. Open for use 24-hours per day, 12 months a year. Permits required for boat launch and for south side parking, from May 15-Sept 15. Park in designated spaces only. Features: Boat launch for boats up to 19ft. Fishing access to deep water through the Shinnecock Inlet, scuba diving area, picnic area, scenic overlook, gazebo (donated by the Mark Sinclair Foundation). Parking for vehicles and boat trailers, handicap access. Unsupervised waterfront. No lifeguard on duty.
SHINNECOCK CANAL PARK: 6 Newtown Road , Hampton Bays
Purchased by the Town in 2003 with Community Preservation Funds, this 3-acre waterfront park is located at the historic Shinnecock Canal with a view of the oldest working lock system, which connects the Peconic Bay and Shinnecock Bay. Features: Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, rock monument, maritime sculpture, park benches, landscaped areas, parking lot, with additional improvements planned in 2021.
SQUIRETOWN PARK: 62 Red Creek Road, Hampton Bays
(Formerly Girl Scout Tekakwitha Camp) This 65-acre facility is home to the Squiretown Lodge, where many recreational programs are held each year. Features: Picnic tables, nature trails, scenic overlook of Peconic Bay.
BAY AVENUE MARINA: 33 Bay Avenue, East Quogue
Purchased by the Town in 2007 with Community Preservation Funds, this facility features a newly renovated bulkhead, 12 floating slips for boats 25 feet and smaller. Power and water are available away from the docks.
NORTH SEA COMMUNITY PARK: 1370A Majors Path, North Sea
This 10-acre park located adjacent to the 55,000-sq.-ft. Southampton Town Recreation Center. Facilities includes bathrooms, ball fields, playgrounds, picnic pavilion, walking trail, skate park, bocce courts, 4 pickleball courts. Please see Community Center section of brochure for additional in formation on Recreation Center.
EMMA ROSE ELLISTON PARK: 40 Millstone Brook Road, North Sea
With over 100 acres of preserved woodland on the shores of Big Fresh Pond, this park was deeded to the Town by the Elliston Family in July 1952 for the enjoyment of Town residents and taxpayers and use as a nature preserve and recreational area. Features: Terraced beach area, picnic tables, marked nature trails, access for hand launched boats for fishing. Unsupervised waterfront. No lifeguard on duty. Resident seasonal parking permit required.
CONSCIENCE POINT PARK: 1976 North Sea Road, North Sea
Purchased by the Town in January 2003 with Community Preservation Funds, this 5-acre parcel has a 64-slip marina on North Sea Harbor. A project is underway to restore the Historic Tupper Boathouse. Features: Restrooms, boat Slip Rentals, Boat Storage, Gas Dock, other common marina facilities.
SOUTHAMPTON MEADOWS/ TUCKAHOE PARK: 16 Summer Drive, Tuckahoe
Donated to the Town as a condition of the subdivision approval for the “Southampton Meadows” development, this 3.5-acre neighborhood park features a toddlers playground, 1 tennis court, picnic pavilion, walking trail

Situated on 39-acres amongst the farm-fields of Sagaponack, the Town-owned Poxabogue Golf Center offers a nine-hole public golf course, pro shop, driving range, and year-round restaurant. The operation and maintenance of the course is overseen by Pin High Golf Management and head golf professional Steve Feder who was named among U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 instructors and the popular Fairway Restaurant at the facility is under a separate agreement with long-time manager Dan Murray. In an area renowned for world class private courses, Poxabouge offers locals and visitors access to a beautiful and affordable venue to play golf on the East End, and was featured as one of the “Top 10 Short Courses in the Country” by the Golf Channel.

SAYRE PARK: 156 Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton
This 7.8-acre parcel stretches from Snake Hollow Rd to Long Pond in Bridgehampton. This park is used by numerous charities for fund raising events and also is available for waterfront access to Long Pond.
TROUT POND: 3200 Noyac Road, Sag Harbor
Acquired by the Town in 1984, this 35-acre upland property includes a 7-acre freshwater lake. Trout Pond is designated for passive recreational use, which includes hiking over marked trails and fishing. Unsupervised waterfront. No lifeguard on duty. Swimming not recommended due to irregular water depths and hazardous bottom conditions.
GOOD GROUND PARK: 9A Squiretown Road, Hampton Bays
This 36-Acre Recreational Park was purchased with Community Preservation Funds in 2014. Features an amphitheater, picnic tables, restroom facilities, benches, playground, nature trails, seasonal live event and parking spaces. Go to www.southamptontownny.gov/ON-STAGE for an updated event schedule.
In addition, Southampton Town has a number of other Hamlet Greens including: Settler’s Field in Water Mill; Militia Green and Historical Green in Bridgehampton; Jones Road Gateway Green, Bellows Pond Road Gateway Green, Rt. 24 Central Gateway Green, Flagpole Green. Most of the aforementioned properties were purchased with Community Preservation Funds.

BERWIND MEMORIAL GREEN (BEEBE WINDMILL): Ocean Road & Hildreth Road, Bridgehampton
One of only 11 remaining windmills, built in 1820 for Lester Beebe, the smock windmill has a stone foundation and a four-story tower. A national state and local landmark bequeathed to the Town as a memorial to John Berwind, the grounds and mill are maintained by the Parks & Recreation Department as a historic site.
TOWN-OWNED HISTORIC BURIAL GROUNDS: Under State Law, Southampton Town maintains abandoned cemeteries and colonial period burial grounds as Memorial Parks including: Westhampton Burying Ground (Quiogue): Pleasure Woods Cemetery (Flanders); East Quogue Burying Ground; Indian Preacher Gravesite, Hubbard Cemetery and Fournier Cemetery in Hampton Bays; Old Noyac Burial Ground, North Sea Burial Ground, Old Southampton Burying Ground and North End Graveyard in the Village of Southampton.
Additional Historic Sites owned by Southampton Town include: Nathaniel Rogers House (Bridgehampton), Canoe Place Chapel (Hampton Bays), Prosper King House (Hampton Bays), Ellis Squires Sr. House (Hampton Bays), Lyzon Hat Shop (Hampton Bays), Tiana Life Saving Saving Station (Hampton Bays), Blue Barn (Flanders), Tupper Boathouse (North Sea), Noyac Schoolhouse (Noyac), the White Collins Mulvihill House (Sag Habor) and the Remsenburg Academy (Remsenburg-Speonk).

Features: Three marked trails through upland areas of pitch pine and mixed hardwoods, fitness trail and exercise station, trail maps available at Red Creek Park Office or Parks and Recreation Department.
VINCE CANNUSCIO WAY: 30 W. Montauk Hwy, Hampton Bays
Paved walking trail located behind the pocket park on Main Street dedicated in 2011 in honor of Vincent Cannuscio, former Southampton Town Supervisor from 1995 to 2001. Trail connects to Good Ground Park. Features: Seating area, large rocks, lattice fence and a reflection garden.

All Southampton Town Parkland is NOT to be used for hunting; however, trail users should always be aware of hunters on adjacent lands during hunting season: November-January.
Fire, Alcoholic Beverages, Littering, Traps, ATVs are prohibited on Town Property. Dogs are not required to be leashed on trails, but must be under the control of owner or other responsible person. See Section on Dog Policy for more information.
