Welcome... to the Autumn & Winter edition of What’s On in South Derbyshire and The National Forest Amid rolling English countryside dotted with picturesque villages you will find so much to enjoy; from historic houses and gardens, to meandering rivers and canals, to archery and snowboarding. All set in the heart of The National Forest, Britain’s most ambitious environmental project. Linking the ancient forests of Needwood and Charnwood, more than eight million trees have already been planted. The woodland is being created on a scale not seen for more than a thousand years, creating stunning landscapes and wildlife habitats. Come and enjoy it this season.

Highlights... Bursting with Autumn colour and Winter thrills, there is a great line-up of seasonal events to look forward to in South Derbyshire‌
Celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with bonfires and firework displays in our villages, including events at Overseal and Mercia Marina. Explore the past with a chance to see the hidden garden at Calke, to enter the Gothic Hall at Elvaston and to marvel at the Staffordshire Hoard at Repton Church. Get out for a walk and try the new National Forest Way or the First World War commemorative walk at Lullington. Try something completely different with Djeme drumming on The Delph, ballroom dancing at Willington, stargazing at Rosliston or freestyle at the Ski & Snowboard Centre. Indulge with cooking demonstrations at Calke Abbey and wine tasting at Sealwood Cottage Vineyard. Enjoy great performances with Cinderella at Aston, Gresley Male Voice Choir at Swadlincote and live theatre beamed to the cinema at The Pipeworks. Delight at the Autumn colours on show at the Bluebell Arboretum open days. Groove on with live jazz at Milton, folk at Hilton, Netherseal and Repton and Umpah at the Ski & Snowboard Centre.
