The Chain O’Lakes
FISHING
ADVENTURES FOR ALL AGES
“Fishing on the Chain O’ Lakes is more than just a pastime – it’s a tradition.”
The Chain O’Lakes’ interconnected waterways teeming with bass, walleye, and panfish are a paradise for anglers of all skill levels. Whether you’re casting off at sunrise or dropping a line in the stillness of dusk, the Chain O’ Lakes promises unforgettable moments and the thrill of a great catch.”
To make your fishing trip to the Fox Chain O’Lakes both enjoyable and successful, take time to learn about the art of fishing, choose the right bait and tackle, and understand the best times, locations, and techniques for casting your line.
The Fox Chain O’Lakes, spanning 7,200 acres, is the largest inland wateroriented recreational asset in Northeastern Illinois. Located about 40 miles northwest of Chicago on Illinois Routes 173 and 12, near the towns of Antioch and Fox
Lake, it offers easy access to the cities of Chicago and Milwaukee.
In addition to hotels, motels, and resorts with cottages in the marina area, you’ll find numerous marinas, restaurants, pubs, bait and tackle stores, and recreational lakefronts.
When enjoying the Chain, safety should be your number one concern. Make sure all your equipment is in working order, avoid overloading your boat, and refrain from running it at high speeds in unfamiliar areas. Be courteous to everyone around you and help where needed.
According to a survey conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard, the Chain sees an average of 60,000 people on weekends and up to 100,000 people on holidays.
The Illinois Department of
Conservation is closely monitoring the future of the Chain, recently expanding both the walleye and muskellunge populations throughout the area.
With over 40 species of fish in desirable sizes and numbers, the Fox Chain provides the best fishing experience in Northern Illinois, attracting anglers from all over.
As a public navigable waterway managed by the Department of Transportation, Division of Waterways, the Fox Waterway Agency, Department of Conservation, and Division of Fisheries, all state boating, hunting, and fishing regulations are applicable and enforced.
For more information on the Chain O’Lakes, you can contact the Fox Waterway Agency at 847-587-8540 or visit FoxWaterway.com.

Antioch Area Healthcare Accessibility Alliance offers multiple services
The Antioch Area Healthcare Accessibility Alliance (AAHAA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to creating a healthy Antioch.
AAHAA initiatives that make this possible include partnerships with local healthcare organizations, who then work in conjunction with our Network Nurse and transportation services to ensure that each Antioch resident in need has access to healthcare resources, and confidence in navigating the healthcare system. Please see the organization’s website at aahaa4health.org or call (847) 395-2809 if you would like more information about AAHAA’s programs, would like to volunteer, or would like to donate to the organization.
