On July 2, 2019, Dan and Kari Newcomer transitioned the business to Jarod and Tania Williams as the new owners. Dan and Kari will start to enjoy a little more traveling and time at the lake house but will still be available to families as needed. As Jarod and Dan continue to serve the community together, we will ensure families are and will be treated with the respect and dignity that the Newcomer family has provided in the past.
Jarod with run the day-to-day operations and will assist with families as the funeral home continues to grow and serve Brodhead and the surrounding communities.
Jarod was born and raised in the area and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1998. He has been licensed for over 20 years as a director and also is licensed insurance agent to assist families with prearrangements and pre-funding solutions with Homesteaders Life Insurance. Tania is currently a kindergarten teacher in the Brodhead School District.
Brock graduated from MATC Milwaukee mortuary science program, has passed his national board exams, and as of 2024 is now a fully licensed funeral director. Brock formerly attended Blackhawk Tech in Janesville to finish up his required general curriculum before attending mortuary science school. He also attended Winona State in Minnesota as a computer science major before changing fields to pursue a career in the funeral service.
Brock enjoys driving his restored 1984 “Jake Ryan” Sixteen Candles porsche, spending time with his family, but especially loving up and spending time with his dogs - Louie, Turkey, and Herschey.
Tad was raised in Brodhead and he and his wife McKenna are working on moving back to Brodhead. His great grandfather was Dwight Newcomer, and he is a great nephew of Daniel Newcomer. His grandfather Tom Newcomer was a funeral director and owner of his own establishment in Orfordville for around 60 years. Tad is a 4th generation funeral director and is excited to be back home. Tad knew since a young age that it was his dream to be a funeral director and be able to help families in a time of need. Tad went to UW-Stout to get his general study credits. He then started his career by serving his apprenticeship in Menomonie with Rhiel Funeral Homes.
After completing his apprenticeship, Tad attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science, where he graduated from. After college Tad worked for Gunderson Funeral Homes in Madison for over 4 years. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife. If Tad is not at work, you can bet that he is somewhere outside embracing all that nature has to offer.
