The Burlington Water Utility will be flushing hydrants on Thursdays during the months of May through July, to reduce and remove the accumulation of rust and iron in the City’s water main distribution system. This flushing may cause discolored water in your system. This discolored water is bacteriologically safe and will not harm you.
City residents should check their water supply on Thursdays before engaging in any work that could be affected by the City’s flushing of hydrants. Your cooperation and understanding during water main flushing is greatly appreciated.

Summer Vacation Letters
SUMMER 2024 ACCORDING TO A 7 YEAR OLD
By Elliott Alger
My summer has been fun. I won a fish at the carnival. I went kneeboarding. I sorted Pokemon cards with my dad. I’m really good at my scooter. My friend caught the same fish I did! I had a couple of days with my Grandma. Booth lake is fun. They have good popscicles I hope yours is fun!
Elliott
Hi, I’m Ashlyn and I’m 12 years old. During my summer vacation, I loved riding my horse through sunlit meadows, feeling the wind in my hair. The bond with my horse grew stronger with each gallop. My horse, Boone, made my summer unforgettable. Other days, I also spent afternoons hanging out with my family on the boat. I sometimes walked my dog outside on the sidewalk in front of our house, her name is Clara. My summer went by fast.
Ashlyn
Hi, my name is Autumn, and I am 14 years old. This summer, I had an amazing time. My summer was filled with a bunch of amazing things keeping me busy. To start off, every weekend consisted of a different softball tournament in a different location, because of that I traveled a lot. On the weekdays I spent a lot of time going to the beach and tanning and spending a lot of time with my friends. Occasionally, on a nice day, my family and I would take our boat out on the lake, and I would have fun tubing. Those are some of my favorite things I did during the summer.

A WONDERFUL SEASON IN LIFE
By Lucas Rodriguez
At last...the school year ends and the fun of the summer season begins! I don’t have to worry about homework, waking up early or taking tests anymore. Instead, I can hang out with my friends, go to the beach, stay up late, and so much more! Furthermore, this summer was even more of a blast in my hometown, East Troy, Wisconsin!
First, it is a great feeling waking up in the morning, looking out the window, and seeing the sun shining that God made for us! Summer can be so fun how you make of it, and I sure did! I love inviting best friends over to the beach and going on the inflatables.
Next, the 4th of July is quite eventful in my hometown as well. My family and I go up on the roof of my house and get the chance to watch booming fireworks that light up the night sky. Also, riding bikes with friends through the square is another adventure I won’t forget. Besides just having fun, I volunteered my time to help my grandma mow her lawn and my elderly neighbor, cleaning up her garden by pulling weeds. I did a lot this past summer and I feel lucky to live in this eventful town! I certainly love the season of summer, and I am already looking forward to the next one.
