Last month, we proudly announced Mrs. Lee Campbell as the new Principal and Chief Executive Officer of the College, and we extend our warmest congratulations.
Since joining the College’s Executive Team in 2021, Mrs. Lee Campbell has played a key role in shaping the College’s future and driving strategic growth both as the Director of Finance and Planning and recently as Interim Principal and Chief Executive since February 2024.
Mrs. Lee Campbell is dedicated to fostering collaboration and embracing a forward-thinking approach in her role as Principal and Chief Executive.
The Institute of Hospitality Northern Ireland Awards for Professionalism returned for 2024 and lecturer Yvonne McCaghey was announced as finalist for the ‘Lecturer of the Year’ Award.
With over 30 years in the catering industry and 20 years training future chefs, Yvonne continues to inspire students through her passion, dedication, and innovative teaching.
Whilst Yvonne is immensely proud of her nomination as finalist for Lecturer of the Year, she considers her biggest professional achievement is seeing her students grow and succeed in their careers.
A truly deserved reward!

SRC’s Learning Support Team has received the Autism Advanced Award Accreditation by the National Autistic Society.

Huge congratulations to the team!
Our Student Engagement Team organised the “We Stand Together – Anti Hate Training” at our Armagh, Lurgan, and Portadown campuses.
Training focused on defining hate crime, understanding the different protected characteristics of hate crime, trauma and its impact on victims, how to report hate crime and being an ‘active bystander’.
The training was delivered by Victim Support NI in collaboration with the Police and Community Safety Partnership.
The “We Stand Together” campaign is ongoing, and you can follow the campaign via the following links: Victim Support NI and Hate Crime Advocacy Service

PBL officer, Edward Jones has been facilitating PBL induction sessions with Traineeship classes across all campuses. For many trainees, this was their first introduction to Project Based Learning (PBL) and they were excited to enhance their Transversal Skills (T Skills) as well as learning the importance of these skills for potential employers.
PBL has launched a new MS Teams site for staff, designed to serve as a central hub for all PBL-related communications and events. The site will also offer support and resources to help teams improve their PBL planning and delivery. In addition to the staff site, the PBL team have created a student site that will feature information on events, workshops, and upcoming competitions.

The PBL department has collaborated with SRC developers to improve the project planning and review process by introducing the new PBL Project Portal.
This portal integrates data from EBS and the CRM, eliminating information duplication. It helps staff align their projects with the ‘gold standard’ essential criteria for PBL, ensuring comprehensive capture and reporting. This will help highlight project successes throughout the year.

Lee Campbell, Principal and Chief Executive, is pictured presenting the cheque to NI Children’s Hospice
In July, we concluded our charity partnership with The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, bidding a fond farewell. Over the past two academic years, an incredible £13,500 was raised, contributing to essential care and support for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to all the staff and students who fundraised or donated money to the NI Children’s Hospice over the past two years. From coffee mornings and bake sales to golf tournaments, robot wars, movie marathons, and Easter egg raffles, we hosted a wide range of exciting events to support this important cause!
Earlier this year, SRC announced Alzheimer’s Society NI as the new charity partner, aiming for a fundraising goal of £10,000!
Alzheimer’s is prevalent within our society, 1 in 3 people born in the UK will be diagnosed in their lifetime, which means we will all know someone who has been affected. The donations will go towards research, providing support and advice for those dealing with Alzheimer’s and contributing to the charity’s vision of “A world where dementia no longer devastates lives”.
Sarah Jewell, NI Children’s Hospice Representative said:
“I’ve truly enjoyed this partnership. The enthusiasm from staff and students was inspiring, congratulations on raising such a remarkable amount!”
Lee Campbell, further commented:
“I am incredibly proud of the amount we’ve donated and the warm reception our charity partner received from both staff and students.”
Well done to all on this amazing achievement!
Winner Sarah-Jane pictured with her prize
We kickstarted our first fundraiser in September with a Bake Sale and hamper Raffle, raising an impressive £392.00! The lucky winner of the Hamper, generously sponsored by Mount Charles was Senior Marketing Officer, Sarah-Jane McCann!
