what’s changed in this timetable? We have made a number of improvements to routes across our network following feedback from our customers including the reintroduction of Sunday services for the summer, new and improved evening services and changes to times to improve reliability. Below is a summary of changes to our routes: There will be a new evening service as an experiment for the summer following requests from customers.
The St Cross Business Express has been withdrawn following the end of the trial period, with the last day of operation being 1st April. There are no changes to routes 1, 22, 24, 32 and 38. Our popular seasonal routes return again this year with the Downs Breezer, Island Coaster, Needles Breezer and Shanklin Steamer offering spectacular views across the island with unlimited travel on all routes included in our Rover and Freedom tickets.
Minor timing changes. There will be a new Sunday morning journey to connect with ferries, plus minor timing changes in the evenings. Timing changes throughout the day to improve reliability. Reintroduction of an hourly frequency during the day, Mondays to Saturdays and an additional journey on Sundays for the summer. Route changed to operate via High Street instead of Whitepit Lane. Additional journeys added on Monday to Saturday evenings.

Whippingham village was the centre of a royal estate supporting Osborne House and Barton Manor. Whippingham, and St. Mildred’s Church as its parish church, are known for their connections with Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria took a great interest in ‘her people’ in Whippingham. This is shown in the many memorials in St. Mildred’s Church which commemorate members of the Royal Family and household. It is believed Queen Victoria’s Consort, Prince Albert, took an active role in the redesigning of the church building.

the isle of wight zoo The Isle of Wight Zoo is a family-run zoo with a special interest in tigers and lemurs. The zoo was built within the ruins of a Victorian Fort built to guard Sandown’s coast, and one of the Isle of Wight’s nicest beaches at Yaverland. Go and visit their newest addition, Simi, a rescued circus tiger or take the kids on one of their daily Walking Safaris!

Serves Woolverton Road on request
This friendly minibus service operates in the Ventnor, Bonchurch, and St.Lawrence areas, serving many roads too narrow for conventional buses. Away from Ventnor Town Centre, it will stop anywhere on its booked route where safe to do so. Free bus passes are accepted, otherwise the adult fare is 2.50 single ( 2.00 Esplanade) and 3.00 day return for any of the three loops. We regret that pushchairs cannot be carried. As this route is not operated by Southern Vectis, if you have any enquiries, please phone 01983 853775 during normal office hours. This service is financially supported by Ventnor Town Council.
