Street sweeper, front-end loader purchased

Helps Public Works provide efficient, reliable service in South Fayette

South Fayette Township has purchased updated equipment for the Public Works Department.

The $275,000 street sweeper truck vacuums road debris for responsible disposal, plus helps clean stormwater inlets.

Public Works employee Dale Kirkpatrick holds a remote control that tilts the street sweeper receptacle for emptying.

The $153,000 front-end loader, below in the salt shed, has versatile attachments to excavate, sweep, lift and move material such as road salt.

Public Works can use the new front-end loader to move loose material such as road salt from the salt shed, pictured, into trucks. The equipment also has versatile attachments to excavate, sweep and lift.
