’ve defended DA Larry Krasner in this column on a couple of occasions, but I think it stinks that he owes back taxes to the City. I think it stinks that it’s not the first time one of our city officials has been found to owe back taxes. I would go so far as to propose a change to the City Charter to prohibit any person running for office who isn’t current with their taxes … I’ve never watched the Laura Ingraham Show on Fox News. I’ve seen her a few times as a guest on other news shows. And yes, she annoys me. I read her comments about David Hogg, the studentsurvivor of the Parkland shooting. Not only was she factually incorrect, I found it as just another effort by the gun-loving Right to discredit the Parkland kids themselves. I found it almost as slimy as the similar effort to discredit Sen. John McCain, a genuine American hero (no matter how much you agree or disagree with his political views). I was and am deeply offended. But the last time I looked, I have no constitutional right protecting me from being offended. I am not joining the effort to get Ingraham removed from the air. I also have a message for Hogg. I admire your passion. I agree with your political stance. For the most part, the Parkland kids have asked for a reasonable compromise on the gun issue, not a total ban as some on the Right claim. But Mr. Hogg, you put yourself out there as the spokesman for See CARDELLA, page 9>>

Rendell rallies for Scanlon’s D.C. run Former mayor, gov. backs candidate for U.S. Rep. outside Melrose Diner By Tom Beck SOUTH PHILLY REVIEW
F
ormer Philadelphia mayor and Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell took to the Melrose Diner Wednesday morning to formally endorse Democratic candidate
Mary Gay Scanlon for Pennsylvania’s fifth congressional district. “As we face this election, and I think it’s going to be a historic election, people ask me ‘what do we need? How can we change things?’ Particularly Democrats, but some independents and Republicans as well,” said Rendell. “The answer is
we need to elect people to Congress – to the Senate and the [House] – who are fighters, who are willing to roll up their sleeves and fight the policies [of] President Trump that I think are hurting the nation in some of the ways particularly that are hurting the people of Philadelphia in the city See SCANLON, page 6>>

ow time flies! Was it really 10 years ago that I submitted a piece to the Philadelphia Day News (“Goretti’s Golden Girls) announcing the upcoming 50th reunion of St. Maria Goretti High School’s first class? You read that correctly. The all girl high school, named after virgin martyr Saint Maria Goretti, was celebrating the graduation of its first class in 1958. Dwight Eisenhower was president. It was a time of peace between the Korean War and Vietnam. “Band Stand was the hit TV dance show for teenagers. Popular groups of that time included: Danny and the Juniors, The McGuire Sisters, The Everly Brothers, The Platters and The Chordettes. We also danced and dreamed to the music of stars like: Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, Pat Boone, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Connie Francis, Buddy Holly and of course Frankie Avalon; and the list goes on. “The Blob was one of the hit movies of the year along with Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo. Believe it or not, television was still broadcast mostly in black and white, and we had to actually get up from our chairs to change the channels by hand. Cable did not exist. Cowboy shows like “Rawhide, “Gunsmoke and “Lawman were popular. Who remembers “The Alfred Hitchcock Show and “Father Knows Best? Or the comedy of Red Skelton? One of my fondest memories was “The Legend of Wyatt Earp with Hugh O’Brien in the title role. I did not know it then, of course, but my future husband Stanley looked just like him. In that original column of 2008, I mentioned strict rules of conduct that included the mid-calf length of our jumper uniforms; not opening books in the cafeteria; and making sure we did not wear patent leather shoes to the prom – because you know how they reflect up. Seriously, I got caught surreptitiously studying for a Latin test at the lunch table and received my only detention ever. Active recruiting for religious life was ongoing. Except for gym class, all our teachers were sisters. Father Francis Tracey was our principal. Most of all, I remember how truly empowered we were to be attending an all girls school and being the pioneers who initiated every new custom into the system. Truly golden memories that we shared at our 50th reunion - attended by over 150 alumnae. The South Philly Review sent a reporter and photographer to cover the event. Then there was another gathering five years later. Then in a flash, five more years passed and Gold has been exchanged for Diamonds. We are
now planning our 2018 60th Reunion of the First Class. In June, invitations will be mailed to the existing list of alumnae addresses by The Millay Club, which is in charge of the party. (Since the union of the two schools, Goretti and Neuman, The Millay Club is in charge of all events.) If there are any questions or updates, please send them directly to millayclub@gmail.com. We understand some Goretti graduates have moved or passed away. Those changes need to be noted. So, mark your calendars, ladies. Reservations have already been made for Oct. 17 at Popi’s Italian Restaurant in South Philly. They are handicapped accessible and have parking. The menu is already selected. All you have to do is respond with your acceptance and fee. You may of course bring a guest for an additional fee. I want to make this perfectly clear. This is the 60th year reunion of the 1958 Class of Saint Maria Goretti High School for Girls. Other all school reunions are taking place in the fall, but this one belongs to SMG graduates. Lambs only. Gloria C. Endres

SCANLON: Runs for congress <<Continued from page 1 of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia suburbs. Mary Gay has always been a fighter.” Scanlon is one of 14 candidates running in the Democratic primary, which is set for May 15. The other 13 are Larry Arata, George Badey, Shelly Chauncey, Margo Davidson, Thaddeus Kirkland, Richard Lazer, Lindy Li, Ashley Lunkenheimer, Dan Muroff, Molly Sheehan, Greg Vitali, David Wertime and Theresa Wright. Paul Addis and Pearl Kim are the only two Republicans in the race. “The one thing I can tell you is that saying that a freshman congressman should be seen and not heard, well that won’t be Mary Gay,” Rendell added. “Wherever Mary Gay goes, she’s a disrupter, she’s a fighter, she makes her voice heard and she’ll deliver incredible services to the people of Philadelphia and Delaware County. There are a number of good candidates in the race, but Mary Gay Scanlon is as good a citizen soldier candidate as I’ve seen. Now, we talk about all the time – we don’t want someone from the political system. We want a fresh face who hasn’t been in an elected office, and, well, that’s Mary Gay. She is a citizen soldier in the truest sense of the word. She’ll fight for us, she’ll fight for Delaware County and she’ll fight for Philadelphia.” Pennsylvania’s fifth district is comprised mostly of Delaware County, but does include a large part of South and Southwest Philadelphia. “Certainly a lot has changed in the last three
months,” Scanlon said, referring to the recent redistricting of Pennsylvania’s congressional districts. “Beginning in one weekend in January alone, it went from having an unconstitutionally gerrymandered district to a district that’s been reconfigured and where the incumbent [Republican Patrick Meehan] was no longer running because of a #metoo problem. So that just threw everything up in the air. And the fact that there’s so much change: [a] new district, no incumbent, no one with a $2 million war chest, has made it a wide open race.” Scanlon is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania Law School and serves as pro bono counsel at Ballard Spahr law firm. She has lived in Delaware County for 25 years. “The character of our country depends on how we treat people who are not rich and powerful,” Scanlon said. “As a civil rights attorney, as an elected official, as a mentor, as a community volunteer, and as a mom with public school kids, I’ve been serving people across the fifth district for over 30 years. But what we’ve seen under the Trump administration and the Republican-controlled Congress is that our federal government has gone from being an ally to an adversary for the past 18 months. As the leader of a national legal services program, I’ve been fighting attacks every single day, and those are attacks on public education, fair elections, ethics, the environment, attacks on health care, attacks on women and children, the LGBTQ community, on immigrants, on people of color, [and] attacks on commonsense gun safety.”

REMEMBER WHEN
The days of champions
T
hirty-five years. This is how long Philadelphia 76ers fans have been waiting for a championship parade. Back in 1983, Moses Malone, Julius “Dr. J.” Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Andrey Toney and others were the kings of the NBA. What has happened since? One trip to the NBA Finals in 2001 and a whole lot of tanking. Until now. The NBA playoffs begin this week, and after a very long wait, Sixers fans are excited for what’s to come. The team will close out the regular season with at least 50 wins. The team will have home court advantage, at least in the first round. Plus, with Joel Embiid out of the lineup, the team knocked off LeBron James and his defending Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers last week. Put it all together, and the Philadelphia 76ers are once again a team to be taken seriously. Just like the days when Moses held the championship trophy. NBA Photos

CARDELLA: Add an ‘e’ for shame
<<Continued from page 1 the cause. I get it that you didn’t like Ingraham questioning your scholastic credentials, but gee golly willikers, calling for a national boycott of her sponsors in response? If you want to get into the kitchen – and you already have – you have to be able to withstand the heat – thank you, Harry Truman. I take the idea of getting someone fired – and that’s the aim of the boycott, make no mistake about it – well, count me out. There’s a terrible trend in this country of trying to get rid of people on the air or speaking at colleges from airing points of view different from our own. And it comes from both ends of the political spectrum. My wife’s Facebook page sizzles with calls for ABC to remove “The Viewâ€? from the air because it is claimed to be “anti-Christian.â€? Comedienne Kathy Griffin posted a tasteless photo of her holding the bloody head of the president and she’s dropped from CNN’s New Year’s Eve show and, for the most part, until recently, had become a showbiz non-person. During Frank Rizzo’s first run for mayor, I wrote an unflattering column and a local merchant or two threatened to pull their ads from this newspaper. The then-owner of the Review told me that if I wrote one more negative column about Rizzo, he would fire me. So yes, I take such efforts to halt opposing opinions personally wherever and whenever it happens. There is a remedy. Turn the page. Change the channel. And leave your boycotts for serious subjects where it is warranted like the 1960s civil rights movement‌ How is Gabe Kapler like Donald Trump? Both men were placed in their respective positions as instruments of change. But both men are also inexperienced and lack judgment. And instead of needed change, all they have brought is chaos. There’s a difference. And it’s the last time I compare Kapler with Trump.
One of my pet peeves – health scares promoted as TV news. Coffee causes cancer. Really? A week earlier I heard that coffee helped protect against certain types of cancer. Both points of view were carried on the same TV news shows and presented as exact science. Of course, it isn’t exact science. Just the results of different studies that draw different conclusions. But in the limited time of a television news segment, all we hear is the conclusion which we dutifully present at our next social gathering as fact – “Have you heard the latest about coffee causing cancer?â€? And yes, some group wants to put a warning label on coffee. The result is pseudo-science. It’s the kind of science that prompted manufacturers to place a nonGMO label on their product labels for those who fear GMO items might cause cancer. Studies so far show it doesn’t. Then there’s the “gluten-freeâ€? fad. If you have celiac disease, stay away from gluten. Otherwise, gluten is good, not bad, for you, despite food labels suggesting otherwise. Here’s another one for you: even though there’s conclusive evidence to the contrary, some folks persist in the belief that vaccinations cause autism in children. The result is some parents are not getting their kids vaccinated and childhood diseases that appeared wiped out are reappearing‌ I keep scratching my head over formal religion co-opting pop songs that either have nothing to do with religion or are anti-religion. No – Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujahâ€? is not a call to the spiritual life. The lyrics of John Lennon’s “IMAGINEâ€? explicitly wish for a world where there is no religion. Yet, chances are you’ll hear it played in some church service. “Jesus Christ Superstarâ€? was NBC’s Easter offering. Ironic, isn’t it, that the show ends with the death of Jesus, not the resurrection? Pseudo-religion. Pseudo-medical science. Pseudo-outrage. Pseudo – a prefix defined as “sham.â€? Whole lot of shamming going on.

Local resident lends talents to new Penn Museum exhibit Middle East Galleries – set to open next weekend – highlights artifacts from ancient cultures By Bill Gelman SOUTH PHILLY REVIEW
T
he Penn Museum’s newest Middle East Galleries opens this month and will feature more than 1,200 objects and artifacts that will explore “how ancient Mesopotamian societies gave rise to the world’s first cities – cities not so very different, in many ways, from our own,” according to a museum press release. The new Middle East Galleries is the first of a series of new signature galleries that are part of a building transformation project at the museum. For Lauren Ristvet, a resident of 12th and Wilder streets, the project is a culmination of several years of discussions, planning and research. “It’s a whole new permanent gallery. What we’ve done will remain open for the next 20 RISTVET years,” she said. “It’s a much bigger project than others I’ve been involved with.” Ristvet, Dyson associate curator, is involved with the Near East section of the project. Several years of hard work are about to be unveiled to the general public as part of the opening weekend festival taking place Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22. The suite of galleries, consisting of three rooms, will literally open the door for visitors to travel on a remarkable 10,000-year human journey, from life in the earliest villages and towns to increasingly complex cities. “I like being a museum curator because it’s a way to translate the academic work I do and make it appealing to a broader audience,” Ristvet said. When the doors open later this month, visitors will be able to explore the conditions and the stories they tell through large-scale video projections, made-to-scale models, illustrators’ renderings of scenes from the reconstructed past, smaller interactive stations and

American Swedish Historical Museum set to host special events
T
he American Swedish Historical Museum, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue in FDR Park, is hosting the opening of two special exhibitions on Saturday, April 14 from noon to 4 p.m. that offer a cultural lens for exploring themes of home and heritage: “The
Sami Reindeer People of Alaska” and “Sami – Walking with Reindeer.” The day will include cultural learning that includes live reindeer, samples of traditional Sami recipes prepared by chef Henrik Ringbom, an indoor aurora borealis, and family activities, as well as a lecture and
musical yoik performance by representatives from the Sami Cultural Center of North America. All activities are included with general museum admission and pre-registration is not required. For more information, visit americanswedish.org.
touchable reproductions. Ristvet has been putting in time proofreading labels and viewing the audiovisual components that will be included in the new gallery, which is set in 6,000 square feet of recently renovated space, according to a museum press release. The artifacts and other components in the Middle East Galleries are the first stage of a key feature of the
“Building Transformation” campaign that is underway at the Penn Museum, located on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The goal, the release said, is to transform the way visitors experience the rich legacies of world cultures, providing a compelling interpretative context to better understand past civilizations and the ways they impact our lives today.
“It is especially fitting that we begin our Signature Gallery transformations with these new galleries. The story of how ancient Mesopotamian societies gave rise to the world’s first cities – cities not so very different from Philadelphia, America’s first World Heritage City – is one that we are uniquely qualified to tell,” said Julian Siggers, the Penn Museum Williams director. “Ur-
banization and globalization continue apace today. With this signature exhibition, we are exploring how and why we got to where we are.” “The Middle East Galleries will explore the Penn Museum’s collections from the broad region between the Mediterranean Sea and the highlands of Afghanistan, from the Black Sea to the Arabian Peninsula, emphasizing diverse settlement sites now found in the contemporary countries of Iraq and Iran,” according to the release. “Beginning with a more than 4,000-year-old human footprint discovered on an ancient mud brick used in construction at the royal city of Ur, the exhibition will follow the expressly human journey through millennia—from village life in early settlements, to larger towns, to complex, multifaceted cities and their relationships with neighboring cities, emerging empires, and far-flung trade regions around the world. Ristvet, who earned degrees from Yale and Cambridge universities, has learned about many of these regions from her own explorations around the world, including summer trips to Azerbaijan, which was part of the Soviet Union. These journeys come with the territory of being associate director of excavations at Tell Leilan, Syria, and co-director of the Naxcivan Archaeological Project in Azerbaijan. Another one of Ristvet’s contributions to the Penn Museum has been serving as co-lead curator, with fellow South Philly resident Salam Al Kuntar, on Cultures in the Crossfire: Stories from Syria and Iraq, which is on display through November and curator of Sex : A History in 30 Objects. The latter exhibit closed in 2016. There will be more projects to come, but opening a new gallery is very time consuming, as the group needs to have everything on display by this weekend. The massive task has involved bringing in an outside exhibit planner to help with the display layouts. “Right now, I am very much focussed on what I am doing,” she said. For more information, visit penn. museum.

Local troupe set to present Gilbert and Sullivan production Savoy Theater Company to present comedic operetta locally and abroad later this summer By Tom Beck SOUTH PHILLY REVIEW
P
hiladelphia’s Savoy Theater Company is gearing up for several upcoming performances of “Iolanthe, or the Peer and the Peri,” a comedic operetta written by famous English playwrights W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. The production, which contains several actors from South Philly, plans to perform three shows at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre on May 18 and 19, and two shows at Longwood Gardens on June 8 and 9. Additionally, the Savoy Theater Company is planning to take its version of the opera to Harrogate, England, for the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, which takes place from Aug. 8-27. In the opera, Iolanthe, who is a fairy, has been banished from fairyland because she married a mortal – something forbidden by fairy law. Her half-fairy-half-mortal son, Strephon, is an Arcadian shepherd who wants to marry Phyllis, a Ward of Chancery. All the members of the British Parliament’s House of Peers also want to marry Phyllis. When Phyllis sees Strephon hugging a young woman (not knowing that it is his mother – immortal fairies all appear young because they do not age), she assumes the worst and sets off a climactic confrontation between the peers and the fairies. The opera satirizes many aspects of British government, law and society. The confrontation between the fairies and the peers is a version of one of Gilbert’s favorite themes: a tranquil civilization of women is disrupted by a male-dominated world through the discovery of mortal love. “It’s a farcical plot involving the English British government lampooning politics and fairies,” said actor Susan Weinman, who plays the Fairy Queen character in the production and also resides in South Philly. “It puts the fairies and the peers directly head to head, and it sets them in a world
of a fairytale. And I guess that’s about as simple as I can put it. It’s very bright and happy and lots of jokes on various different levels.” “It’s a wonderful score,” said Tom Faracco, an actor who plays a character called Lord Tolloller in the opera and who also resides in South Philly. “Of all the pieces that come across, this one has the most wonderful music, wonderful orchestration, the solo parts as well as the core parts are funny and exciting and also very moving. There’s lots of militaristic march type music for the lords, and the peers and the fairies music is very ethereal. It creates a wonderful atmosphere. Many, many beautiful melodies. You’ll be humming them on the way home.” The production “is couched in wonderful humor and great music,” said Alize Rozsnyai, a South Philly resident who plays the sought-after Phyllis. The audience “can expect to laugh a lot, but also feel a very sincere sense of humanism. There’s a lot of really touching moments in the production.” Rozsnyai noted those who enjoy witty British humor would particularly enjoy the production. “If you’re a Monty Python fan, the operatic version of that is Gilbert and Sullivan,” she said. “It’s a really great work.” Two of the Suzanne Roberts Theatre performances will occur at 8 p.m. on both Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19. An additional Saturday matinee will occur at 3 p.m. on the 19th. Tickets for the Suzanne Roberts Theater production are available at philadelphiatheatrecompany.org and range in price from $35 to $50. The Longwood Gardens performance, which will take place at 8:30 p.m. on June 8 and 9, will cost $29 to attend; however, admission also includes entry to the grounds. If you’re looking to make the trip across the pond, tickets to the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival performance, which will occur at the Royal Theatre in Harrogate, England, on Aug. 13, will run you £20 – roughly $28 and change.

We’re looking for ‘Rising Stars’

t’s that time of year in which high school seniors are finalizing college decisions. Younger students are likely proud of the strides they have made in the classroom from September to now. Others may have faced personal hardships that presented unexpected challenges in and out of the classroom. No matter what the story is, each of these students is very deserving of recognition. Teachers, counselors and administrators, do you have a Rising Star in your classroom? If yes, it’s time to share the stories of these first graders through high school seniors you feel are worthy of Rising Star consideration. The South Philly Review and Grays Ferry-based Young Chances Foundation are once again teaming up to recognize your standout candidates. The only requirement is the student must reside in South Philly or attend a South Philly school in the 19145, 19146, 19147 or 19148 Zip Codes. Parents and guardians, we know you believe your child is well deserving of being included on this list, but nominations need to come from the school.
Being a straight-A student or valedictorian are both strong points, but not the only criteria being taken into consideration. We also want to hear about the talented individuals who excel in the classroom as well as numerous extracurricular activities. It can be anything from athletics to school clubs to volunteer work. If you have a Rising Star who fits the bill, send us a nomination letter, 250 to 350 words, describing what makes your candidate stand out from the pack. What is the reason(s) for nominating this student? What academic achievements has this student earned during the 2017-18 school year? What does this student hope to be when he/she grows up? These are just a few questions meant to help get the conversation started. All of the nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee, with the winners appearing in the special June 6 Rising Stars edition. Please submit nominations by Tuesday, April 30. Nominations can be submitted via email, news@ southphillyreview.com.

South Philly’s own Morris twins ready for NBA playoffs By Bill Gelman SOUTH PHILLY REVIEW
T
he Philadelphia 76ers are opening the postseason at home, with the who and the when still to be determined. As of press time, the stage was set for a first-round match against the Miami Heat. But no matter who the Heat face, they will be taking the court without the services of Dion Waiters, a native of 19th and Carpenter streets. The shooting guard has played in just 30 games this season due to injury. He was ruled out for the remainder of year back in January as a result of ankle surgery. Prior to the injury, he was averaging 14.3 points and 3.8 assists per game. Prep Charter High School, 1928 Point Breeze Ave., is going to be wellrepresented in the NBA playoffs, by not one, but two former players. Granted, they’re twin brothers playing for separate teams. Marcus Morris, a 6-foot-9 forward, and his Boston Celtics are holding

Markieff Morris, a 6-foot-10 forward, and his Washington Wizards were sitting in the eighth and final spot in the east. The twins may or may not meet in the postseason, but their respective teams did meet last night in the nation’s capital. The postseason schedule will
released following tonight’s conclusion of the regular season. In 53 games for the Celtics, Marcus Morris is averaging 13.7 points and 5.4 rebounds a game. Markieff Morris, through 71 games, is contributing 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest. Now that the postseason is here, it’s all about doing whatever it takes to ad-
vance. Switching gears to baseball, Albert Baur, who played high school baseball for Ss. Neumann-Goretti, has opened the 2018 Minor League Baseball season with the Bradenton Marauders, the Advanced A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He had two hits and an RBI in Sunday’s 7-6 victory over the St. Lucie Mets. The Pirates drafted Baur in the
28th round of the 2015 draft. This is his first season playing on the Advanced A level. For his career, which includes 232 games, he has a .287 batting average with 244 hits and 128 RBI. His team will travel to Clearwater this weekend for a three-game series against the Threshers, the minor-league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
EAGLES INSIDER
Doug Peterson: The man who turned doubters into believers
D
oug Pederson walked out to the pitcher’s mound at Citizens Bank Park as the Philadelphia Phillies prepared for their home opener of the 2018 baseball season, with thunderous applause ringing the stadium and “Fly, Eagles, Fly” playing as the fans sang along. It was, for everyone, an incredible moment. Pederson then stepped up for the first pitch and delivered a fastball down the heart of the plate. A former baseball pitcher and, of course, NFL quarterback, Pederson showed he still has an arm. Truth is, the man is on a roll the likes of which few coaches ever enjoy, and he’s taking full advantage of the moment. “You’re only as good as those around you and I’ve got a great support staff,” Pederson said. “We enjoyed a Super Bowl season in 2017. Everything fell into place with us even with so many injuries and adversity. We stayed the

course. We believed in ourselves and in each other and that’s half the battle right
there.” A year ago, Pederson faced his share of skeptics after a 7-9 season (after a 3-0 start, the Eagles went 4-9). Mocked when the Eagles hired him prior to the season, Pederson’s status 12 months ago was seen, on the outside, as shaky. At best. His critics wanted him gone at the first blown play call. But as the Eagles rolled through a 13-3 season and overcame a slew of in-
juries that would fell most teams, Pederson united his team. His genuine likability endeared him to the players. His trust in his locker room and the leadership there created a winning bond. And Pederson’s performance on game days – the daring, the creativity, the ability to gain matchup advantages — helped the Eagles become the top-scoring offense in the NFL prior to quarterback Carson Wentz’s injury, and then hang 41 points on New England to outscore the Patriots in Super Bowl LII with backup Nick Foles at the helm. So here is Pederson now, getting standing ovations wherever he goes, basking in the adoration of a fan base
that reluctantly shows its love on the outside to its sports heroes. “It hasn’t changed me in that kind of way. I know that we’ve won the Super Bowl now, so you know how to get it done. Doesn’t make it any easier. If anything, you’ve got higher expectations every day,” he said. “I want all of us to get used to this and to reach and attain this every season. I know that isn’t going to happen, but the blueprint is there. We’ve gone down that path before. But I certainly recognize that we have a lot of work to do this season. The NFC is loading up and going after us. We’re the hunted team. We’ve got to be ready to take every team’s best shot.”
Pederson’s Super Bowl victory instantly vaults him into the pantheon of all-time Philadelphia head coaches. And who saw it coming two years ago when the Eagles, according to media opinions, hired the “worst head coach” in the NFL? Life moves fast in the NFL. Turnarounds require some magic, and Pederson’s approach of keeping it real and honest and unassuming plays perfectly in a city that wants, desperately, to love its sports icons. Especially those who win it all. Pederson, in only his third season as the Eagles head coach, is at the very top of his game, and the region’s fans have fallen for his good-guy personality.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Holy Spirit, You who make me see everything and who shows me the way to reach my ideals, You who give me the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and You, who are in all the instances of my life with me, I, in this short dialogue want to thank you for everything and affirm once more that I never want to be separated from you no matter how great the material desires may be. I want to be with you and my loved ones in your perpetual glory. AMEN. Thank You for your love towards me and my loved ones. Pray this prayer three consecutive days straight without asking for your wish. After the third day your wish will be granted. Promise to publish your dialogue as soon as your favor has been granted. Thank You St Joseph for Favors Granted.
