Defeating the odds like a warrior J.D. Rivera’s rough upbringing has become the subject of Coors Light’s “My Climb. My Story series

dedication by Coors Light. Although when Rivera first arrived in the city, he was alone and had nothing to his name, his stamina and persistence has led him to achieving things he would have previously thought unimaginable. Reflecting upon his childhood nickname, “El Guerrero, meaning “the warrior, the brave and experienced fighter channeled his energy into making a better life for himself, and ultimately others in the process. Dedicated to celebrating those who “live their lives to the fullest and always find a way to climb on, the beer company developed a campaign called “My Climb. My

Story. Through the first installment of this series, Coors Light sought to feature hardworking people around the country who have climbed to success, despite their odds. Fitting the campaign’s mold, Rivera’s journey to realizing his dreams and ultimately benefiting his community began in Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised until age 11. Here, he grew up on a military base as his grandfather, Capt. James Rosado of the special forces Green Berets, one of the most decorated Puerto Ricans from the Vietnam War, was stationed there. “Growing up in Puerto Rico was an experience with a clash of cultures, Rivera said. hat started as mere training for the 2nd Street 5k to benefit local churches back in 1999 soon became an addiction to running and competing for South Philly native Jacqueline Eells. Now 36, she has competed in more than 42 races and has no plans to stop striding toward success anytime soon. Before embarking on her first 5k at

age 17, Eells, who grew up at Second and Greenwich streets, remembers thinking what an accomplishment it would be to have completed such a race. Thus, she would go out and run as far as she could, and then walk a little. Although she had no idea what she was doing, she knew roughly 12 city blocks was the equivalent of a mile, so that’s what methodology she used to determine how far she had run. Seeing as this race was right in the heart of her neighborhood, and the course ran right by her house and supported her

church, she knew she wanted to continue running it in the years to come. Ultimately, she went on to secure first-place finishes in her age group three consecutive years. “There is no better feeling in the world than crossing a finish line and getting a medal,” Eells said. “You may not even come in first place, but the adrenaline that pumps through your body while racing and especially at the finish line is one of a kind.” Around the same time, Eells began her

college career at Widener University where she decided to run track, participating in the 5,000 meter run. Yet, as life changed and she graduated college advancing into the working world, her running style also transformed. From what started as a sole focus on competition and increasing her speed and finish times slowly progressed from being about speed to focusing on distance and stamina. To help keep up with her passion for running, Eells helped form the Second Street Running Society in 2016, and credits the

Supporting a Phan-worthy cause The Phillies, Philabundance and Citizens Bank are teaming up to ďŹ ght hunger â– By Lindsey Nolen R e v i e w S ta f f W r i t e r

Given that every $1 donation provides two meals, the ballpark and its platform have the potential to again make a large-scale impact on the organization’s ability to increase the number of meals it can provide. “We are proud to once again partner with our friends at the Phillies to make an impact on the region’s hunger problem by raising money and collecting food for our neighbors in the Delaware Valley,â€? Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, regional president of Citizens Bank said “Phans Feeding Families has been a tremendous success over the past few years, helping Philabundance and other local hunger relief programs provide food for families during the summer months.â€? Marking its 2017 efforts, the Phillies, Citizens Bank, Phillies coach Mickey Morandini and Phillies sponsors, including Aramark, Goya Foods, Hatfield, SEPTA, ShopRite, Sunoco and Toyota, announced this year’s Phans Feeding Families partnership with Philabundance to fundraise and collect food on May 23. To date, with fan support, more than 850,000 meals have been provided to families in need. Stepping up to the plate this year, Citizens Bank made the first donation to the cause, donating $40,000 that will provide approximately 80,000 meals to the 2017 Phans Feeding Families campaign. “Thanks to Citizens Bank and the Phillies, Philabundance is able to help feed more of our neighbors in need through the Phans Feeding Families partnership,â€? Glenn Bergman, executive director of Philabundance, said. “This generous donation of $40,000

will go a long way to make summer more fun for the 300,000 children in our area who lose their school meals during the break. We’re truly grateful for the generous donation, which will provide 80,000 meals for Delaware Valley children who face hunger year round. TO FURTHER ENSURE this year’s program is a success, fans are being encouraged to contribute on their own in a number of ways. First and foremost, they are encouraged to attend the June 14 game (7:05 p.m. start) and to purchase a special Phans Feeding Families Theme Night ticket, available at a special $4 discount in locations regularly priced $53 and less. Out of each ticket sold, $8 will be donated directly to Philabundance, a contribution that will put 16 meals on the table for local community members in need. “There are far too many families in our community who are at risk for hunger,

Dave Buck, Phillies senior vice president of marketing and advertising sales, said. “On June 14, during Phans Feeding Families Day at Citizens Bank Park, we look forward to once again joining our fans and corporate partners in making a difference and providing hunger relief to those in need. In addition to purchasing a ticket and attending the game, “phans are also being urged to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item. Upon the donation of one of these items, which could include but are not limited to plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna and pasta, each supporter will receive a buy-one-get-one ticket offer eligible to be used for entry to various upcoming games. Furthermore, to help raise money for the Phans Feeding Families, which began in 2011, ballpark attendees can participate in the Phillies Charities 50/50 raffle, where a portion of the proceeds will benefit

Philabundance, or bid on one-of-a-kind, new or game-used, signed memorabilia during the Phillies Charities Auction via the MLB Ballpark App. Proceeds from the auction will also benefit Philabundance and all items will be on display at the First Base Gate Plaza. If unable to attend the game or to complete one of these methods of contribution, online monetary donations to the campaign can also be submitted at Philabundance. org. Also, food donations will be accepted at the ballpark during the ShopRite Partners in Caring Food Drive on Sunday, Sept. 17. SPR Complete program details are now available at phillies.com/feedingfamilies, and fans can also help spread awareness and stay updated on the cause by following @ Phillies on Twitter, using #PhansFeed.

RIVERA

continued from page 1 “Yet, it was very difficult in achieving your goals financially. It was difficult to make money in that economy, especially with the poverty and crime. In hopes of a better life, in 1988 Rivera and his mother relocated to Brooklyn, N.Y. After nine years in New York, at the advice of his uncle, Rivera and his mother again relocated, but this time to Merced, Calif., where they had pictured themselves living beside beautiful beaches and like the lives of the characters in the popular show “Saved by the Bell. However, lest did they know this city was actually worse socially than New York, filled with a variety of troubles. “I was in gangs and raising myself, Rivera said. “My mother had an alcohol problem at the time, and after 10 years she chose to move us back to Puerto Rico. Her mother had passed, and she was given a house, and I went out and got my own apartment for a year. During this year, Rivera became friends with an English vacationer, Brent Sebrer, who was living in the hostel next to his apartment. The two became good friends and would find time to skateboard together, later becoming pen pals when Sebrer moved back to London. “One night after he had left, I realized I had to get out of Puerto Rico when there was a shootout at a club I went to, Rivera said. “One of my friends was shot and killed right in front of me. I had to get out of there when that lifestyle was thrown back in my face. But Rivera’s roots were calling him back to Puerto Rico, where he met his wife. He credits her as the driving force that changed his life for the better and encouraged him to stay on a straight and narrow path — leading him to boxing as an outlet. “Around that time, I was sitting in my living room with my stepfather watching the show, ‘The Contender,’ on ESPN. After, a boxing match featuring Emanuel Ya’kov Burton came on I said, ‘One day I’ll become a professional boxer,’ Rivera recalled. “My stepfather laughed at me, and I told him he’d see. DESPITE BEING 30 years old at the time, he began training every day at a gym. Eventually, the trainers put him in the ring against one of the other fighters there who had a strong reputation. Although Rivera took many hits, after one strong punch to his op-

ponent’s face, he knocked him out. “I gained attention at the gym after that and they began sending me to camps,â€? Rivera said. “Soon I began getting training with Puerto Rican trainer Freddie Trinidad, the uncle of Juan FĂŠlix ‘Tito’ Trinidad GarcĂa, considered one of the best professional boxers in Puerto Rico’s history.â€? While bartending to support himself in addition to his training, one day Rivera met a man from Philadelphia who promised him a job in the city if he ever chose to move. Knowing about the city’s rich boxing history, and hoping to use the available

“One of my friends was shot and killed right in front of me. I had to get out of there when that lifestyle was thrown back in my face. - J.D. Rivera resources there to build upon his own skill set, he sold all of his belongings and moved to Philly by himself at first. Later, after boxing took off, his wife, Ly Mari Latimer, and three children, Leonel, J.D. and Alicia joined him. Although there was no job lined up as promised when he got to Philly, he was soon after hired as a bouncer at Lucky Strike and started working with boxing promoter Joey Intreiri, known as “Joey Eye. While working with Intreiri, Rivera was introduced to trainer Jimmy Washington Jr., the son of the great, late Jimmy Arthur, hall of fame Philadelphia trainer, who became his mentor and taught him the Philly shell boxing style. “After seeing many gyms, I decided it would be better for me to open my own, old-fashioned boxing club, rather than the gyms where all they care about is the money, Rivera, who resides at Ninth and Dudley streets, said. “I opened Warrior Boxing Academy on top of Eddie’s Auto Garage at 12th and Mifflin and later had to expand to Ninth and Mifflin in a basement-level gym. With the goal of making sure both kids and adults who wished to train here could do so for free, Rivera opened his gym to anyone and everyone interested. This was because he still remembers when he first came to Philly, he felt as though someone

without top-notch boxing skills couldn’t find a gym willing to train them. Thus, through his own Warrior Boxing Academy, named after his Puerto Rico nicknamed, “el guerrero, and after the 1979 cult classic film, “The Warriors, he was able to give everyone that chance, while leading by example. But Rivera continued to struggle financially while back in the U.S. Looking through his bills, he remembers a time not that long ago where he thought to himself ‘God I need some help.’ In what he can only describe as a miracle, days later he received a phone call that would change his life. “An agent named Chloe from the advertising company, 72 and Sunny, called asking if I knew anyone from my gym with a great story about his or her journey and life in the community, Rivera said. “I told her she could look up myself since I came from nothing and was 39 years old and still fighting. The agent found Rivera’s story to be so compelling he was selected by Coors Light as one of the “My Climb. My Story campaign features. Not long after, Rivera participated in his individual short film for the series, which can be viewed on YouTube, and in response Coors Light donated to him a new ring, gloves, mouthpieces and more. “[Rivera’s] story was so inspirational to us that we wanted to go beyond just telling his story, and do what we could to help him continue to support his community, Pando said. Rivera explained that their decision came out of the blue, like a miracle. Additionally, since working with the beer company, more people have joined the gym, and it has helped put more attention back on boxing. He believes that lately, eyes have been on UFC and MMA, but boxing has become somewhat forgotten. Aiming to reverse this notion though the “Climb on platform, Rivera, whose current record is 9-2-0, and his come-fromnothing story hope to inspire others who are or have been in similar circumstances that they too can succeed. Proving that nothing will hold him back, Rivera will participate in his next fight against Dominick Monzoin taking place on Monday, June 20 in Massachusetts. “When I chose to start boxing it became like a religion and ultimately made me a better person. It has brought me everything from the shirt on my back to my gym and the food I eat every night, Rivera, who always represents Philly when fighting, said. “It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. SPR

CARDELLA continued from page 1 ing for us in the dining room were cousin Ange, his wife Angela and family and friends. “Dysfunction has given family get-togethers a bad name. Hell, dysfunction is what makes families interesting. The hugs and kisses lingered. Circumstance had kept us from seeing one another for the better part of a decade and, in some cases, even longer. But with the impetus provided by Rob, we had finally run out of excuses. It was the first time Fran and I saw Rob’s two young children, a bolt of energy named Amy and the littlest guy of all in the family, Alex. We dined on manicotti and chicken parmigiana. The Sonestown Country Inn graciously accommodated Italian tastes on this evening. Rob took his children to Sonestown about a year or so ago at the suggestion of his Uncle John. John is a transplanted South Philadelphian, who plays a mean guitar as well as other assorted musical instruments at Sax Daddy’s in nearby Forksville a couple of nights a week. He lives on Main Street — right across from the Inn where Rob and his kids reside. Sax Daddy’s is located inside Big Mike’s General Store and Restaurant.“Big Mike is also from South Philly. Purchased the restaurant in 1999. Makes authentic Philly cheesesteaks served on Amoroso rolls. The cheesesteaks at Big Mike’s were recently ranked among the top-10 cheesesteaks in the state. And cheesesteaks aren’t the only reminders of Philly on the menu. One of the omelets is named after the Philly Fanatic. The eggs go great with Mike’s garlic home fries. Our entire gang ate breakfast at Big Mike’s our last morning. I still have the garlic breath to prove it. Eagles memorabilia adorns the walls. Did I tell you that Sonestown is not very big? The population is barely over 100. George Sones came to the area in 1843. You can say that he and his sawmill were responsible for there being a community here at all. Sonestown depended on its lumber industry. And for awhile, the place was booming. Ask your parents about the old wooden clothespins they used to hang out the wash with in the backyard in South

Philly. Chances are those clothes pins were made in Sonestown. But then time — rarely a friend to most small, one-industry towns in America — ushered the boom out of Sonestown. The population keeps dwindling. The Inn gets its regulars, but depends also on occasional tourists and bikers. The room rate is cheap enough. Sixty dollars a night for a clean room, $65 if you prefer a Queensized bed. Some of the rooms like ours sloped more than a bit in spots, but hey, we had just come off a cruise with some rocky seas so we felt right at home. What made the trip worthwhile had nothing to do with the sloping rooms or the Italian cuisine. The long weekend was all about family. Rob arranged a barbeque for all of us in a 60-acre field on Saturday. He saw to every detail. There were pony rides for the kids and the rest of us took a ride through town in a horse and carriage. My daughter provided face painting for Amy and her friend Randi. The kids then turned the tables and did some face painting of their own on some of adults. The young - Tom Cardella the people whacked a whiffle ball all day long. Rob served the pulled pork while hamburgers and hot dogs sizzled on the grill. The women provided cookies, peach and cherry cobbler, and pound cake. Soda and beer were in the cooler. Hell, if this were any more of an American classic, Norman Rockwell would’ve been nearby painting it. Storytelling was popular. As we sat around a fire pit, the family stories continued into the night. Retelling of stories is the way we’ve kept families alive through the years. There was the time my son dropped a fake fly inside a plastic ice cube into some stranger’s cup of soda at Opryland, then dipped his hand into the guy’s soda to retrieve it. Stories like that never grow old. There are stories we could recite word for word each time, but they never grow old, even though we recite them word for word each time. They never grow old because the only thing in life that never grows old are family and friends. Someday, I hope, my grandkids will be sitting around a fire telling the story of their Uncle “P and the fly-in-the-ice cube. May those stories never die. We left Sonestown on Sunday after breakfast at Big Mike’s. Swear to God we’ll do this again next year. Sang “Ripple all the way home. SPR

hat started as mere training for the 2nd Street 5k to benefit local churches back in 1999 soon became an addiction to running and competing for South Philly native Jacqueline Eells.

LIFESTYLES at first word-of-mouth organized group as what has largely made her into a better runner. What started as just a group of runners, soon transformed into an amazing bunch of friends who constantly encourage and motivate each other to do their best, without ever leaving anyone behind. “These past few years with the group have been some of the best runs I’ve ever had,” Eells said. “Running with a group creates a much better and fun experience, and the Second Street Running Society is truly the best.” Although running is initially what brought this group, which Eells now considers her “running family,” together, she explains the friendship that has since grown keeps them going. Grateful every day to have met a great group of people through her sport, she noted they are not just there for each other during runs, but after as well, scheduling happy hours, brunches and dinners a few times a month to simply enjoy each other’s company. However, from a running-perspective, the commitment each member of the Second Street Running Society exhibits undoubtedly contributes to their individual successes in performing. Engaging in

what they refer to as the “5 at 5 a.m.,” the runners have no problem with waking up early and taking to the streets. “Our typical route consists of leaving at 5 a.m. every day from Second Street and Tree/Jackson streets,” Eells said. “We then run north up Second Street picking people up along the way, and our last pick up is at Second and Market. We then run to Race Street and over to Delaware Avenue, finishing by running Delaware Avenue back to Second Street and Jackson Street which is typically five miles total.” While she explains that she has so much fun causally running with this group, it is still the thought of race day and the excitement that it brings that is what makes all of the miles worth it. She encourages everyone to experience a race at least once in their lives, as she believes there is nothing like it. ALTHOUGH SHE IS the first to share her excitement for these races, Eells admits often people will tell her she’s crazy for running as much as she does, or ask her why she would ever have the desire to do so as it doesn’t sound fun at all, for Eells it provides a release. For her, this is just time

to focus on her thoughts and burn some stress, in addition to helping her shape as this has always been the easiest workout for her. “After I had my sons, Mason, 7, and Maddox, 1, running was a way for me to get back in shape,” Eells, who now resides at Second and Jackson streets, said. “Now it’s me time. It’s time away from school, work and home, as well as time for myself and to hang out with great friends who share the same passion for running.” While some people don’t understand this passion, Eells added her family has always been there to support her. For example, her parents, Jacqueline and Ronald Eells, and her husband, Marc Holmes, always ask how she does, tracking her throughout her races to see her splits and finish times. Additionally, her husband will come to the finish line with their sons at times to show support, and her son, Mason, always wants to be a part of races with her or wants her to teach him how to run. “One of the main reasons I run is for my kids, and so I have the energy to play with them and be there for them,” Eells said. “I even encourage my 7-year-old to run with me sometimes and he has completed a few

races with me. I want them to get as much joy out of fitness as I do, and teach them how important it is.” Setting an unbelievably strong fitness example for her sons, since downloading and beginning to readily use the Nike running application on her phone roughly four years ago, Eells has been able to track 274 runs and more than 1,455 miles. One of the more recent, larger-scale races Eells entered took place over two days in November 2016. It started with the Rocky Challenge, which consisted of 13.1 miles on a Saturday followed by a 26.2-mile marathon a day later. She is training for two fall marathons — the Baltimore Marathon in October, and the 39.3-mile Rocky Challenge in November. “Back in 1999 when I trained for my first 5K, I would have never in a million years thought I’d be able to run a marathon,” Eells, who is in grad school, said. “Running is a constant challenge, and some days you feel great while others you struggle to finish a mile. Through the years I’ve learned it’s not always about finish times or speed, it’s miles over minutes that matters most to me.” SPR

Zoom, he did it again The former player makes history in his return to the Saints ■ By Bill Gelman Review Editor

LNH ´=RRPµ =RON NQRZV ZKDW LW WDNHV WR ZLQ WKH &DWKROLF /HDJXH EDVHEDOO WLWOH He won one as a member of the Neumann-Goretti Saints during the 2011 season. He also watched his father, Mike Zolk, lead the Saints to a league championship the following season. Fast-forward to present day, and Zoom is back in a new role as head coach of the NeumannGoretti baseball team. For those wondering if the former second baseman has what it takes to be a successful Catholic League coach, the answer would be a resounding yes. The proof comes in the form of Saturday’s (May 27) 6-4 title win over Archbishop Wood at Immaculata University. “It’s always the coolest thing to win a Catholic League championship,” Zolk said. “It’s awesome feeling to do it in my first year.” He made history in the process, becoming the first player in Catholic League history to win the baseball crown as a player and coach. Call it a winning tradition that includes back-to-back league crowns and five over the last seven seasons. The latest victory included plenty of nail-biting drama. Wood opened the game with a three-spot in the first inning, but the Saints matched the number in the bottom half of the frame. Brian Reynolds knocked in two via a single. Wood added another run in the third before the East Passyunk Crossingbased squad pulled away for good with more runs in the bottom of the inning. The winning effort included

The Neumann-Goretti baseball team successfully defended its Catholic League crown with a 6-4 victory over Archbishop Wood.

SP O RT S B R I E F S Bunning passes away One of the all-time greats in Phillies history, Hall-of-Famer Jim Bunning, passed away on May 26 at the age of 85 due to complications of a stroke he suffered in October. He pitched 17 seasons in the majors for the Tigers, Phillies, Pirates and Dodgers, compiling a career record of 224-184 with a 3.27 earned run average. He retired with 2,855 strikeouts, which at the time ranked second behind only Walter Johnson (3,509). When Bunning, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996, chose to wear a Phillies cap on his plaque. “Jim was an incredible competitor and was determined to maximize his ability and make the most of everything he did in life,” Phillies Chairman David Montgomery said in a statement released by the Phillies. Bunning is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary, nine children and 35 grandchildren.

key contributions from the senior leaders. Pitcher Phil Sanborn, a Second Team All-Catholic honoree, got his first taste of varsity action this season, played like a veteran last weekend with a complete-game effort in which surrendered six hits while striking out four. He is 5-1 with a 1.81 ERA. Classmate Jared Healey, who is the Catholic League Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Catholic selection (making just two errors on the season), went 3-for-3 at the plate, which included a double, and scored a pair of runs. In the postseason, the senior shortstop is batting .667 (6-foor-11). But the 17-4 Saints success story would be incomplete without mentioning staff ace George Masciulli. He is 7-0 with one save and a .89 earned run average. His record includes a

4-0 semifinal victory over Archbishop Ryan, which took place on May 24. He turned in 6.1 innings of work. Other players have been recognized with All-Catholic recognition. Aidan Baur and Joe Messina received second-team nods while RJ McGettigan made the third team. Like his playing days, Zolk is in his comfort zone at NeumannGoretti. When former head coach Kevin Schneider resigned last spring to become the head baseball coach at Immaculata University, the former All-Catholic standout wasted little time expressing his desire for the vacant post. “It was a no-brainer,” he said. If everything goes according to plan, the Saints season is far from complete. They return to action this afternoon against MaST Community Charter (1

p.m. at La Salle High School) for the AA city title. With a win, Neumann-Goretti will get a chance to defend their PIAA AA state crown. A loss will signal the end of the season. Sounds like pressure, but Zolk, assistant coaches Joseph Messina, Nicky Nardini and Ron Malandro along with the players are up for the challenge. “We love the pressure,” Zolk said. But no matter happens the rest of the way, Zolk will always be able to say he coached Neumann-Goretti to a Catholic League title, just like his dad. “It’s awesome,” the younger Zolk said of the accomplishment. “I am glad I could do something similar to what he has done. It’s a pretty cool feeling repeating something at the same school.” SPR

Neumann-Goretti wins state title The Neumann-Goretti High School girls track and field team capped off a banner season by winning the PIAA Class 2A state title on Saturday at Shippensburg University. The Saints finished with 56 points, five more than second-place Hickory. SPR

e’s done it quietly, so maybe that’s the reason Jordan Hicks hasn’t gotten the appreciation he deserves for being one of the NFL’s up-and-coming middle linebackers. Entering his third season with the Eagles, Hicks is poised to gain some recognition. “He is the heart of our defense, end Brandon Graham said of Hicks, who in 24 career games has an impressive seven interceptions, four fumble recoveries, two quarterback sacks and one forced fumble. “That’s the guy right there. He takes control of everything in the middle. Hicks, at 236 pounds, isn’t cut from the same

mold as some of Philadelphia’s most renowned big boppers at middle linebacker. Chuck Bednarik was an all-time, all-timer, a beast of a man who imposed himself on the rest of the league. Bill Bergey was the thumper with a big heart and courage and great athletic ability. Jeremiah Trotter played smashmouth football, and if you got in his way, well, you paid the price. Hicks plays a cerebral game that blends well with his great instincts, feel for the game and penchant for somehow always being around the football. A third-round draft pick in 2015, Hicks was forced into the lineup as a rookie and then shined for half a season. In his first NFL start, for example, Hicks recorded 14 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery to help beat the New York Jets.

In eight games in 2015, Hicks had two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. But late in the eighth game, after he had picked off a pass and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown against Dallas, Hicks suffered a torn pectoral muscle and was lost for the remainder of the season. He bounced back in 2016, playing 95 percent of the team’s defensive snaps and growing into the leader of Jim Schwartz’s attacking defense. And as the Eagles continue to add pieces to the group to improve, they think Hicks is prepared to take the next step. “Staying healthy last season was huge for me, Hicks said. “It was really important. I came into

this offseason able to train and build strength and get better, instead of recovering from an injury. I feel great and I love this defense. I think you’re going to see us make some big steps. Hicks is the kind of player Eagles fans should come to love. He’s a bright, personable young man who keeps his head down. He’s active in the community. He’s a leader in the locker room. Hicks cites his mother’s message to “stay humble as the best advice he’s ever received. “I know how fast things can change, he said. “I’m appreciative of being here, in this great city and doing something I love to do. I come in to work with a smile every day. His name isn’t one that is gathering the most headlines in this offseason, and that’s a good thing. Jordan Hicks is just a really good football player, even if not too many people know about him. If all goes according to plan, however, the word will get out soon: Hicks is in line to be the next great Eagles linebacker in a town that thrives off the play from the man in the middle. SPR

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT Holy Spirit, You who make me see everything and who shows me the way to reach my ideals, You who give me the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and You, who are in all the instances of my life with me, I, in this short dialogue want to thank you for everything and affirm once more that I never want to be separated from you no matter how great the material desires may be. I want to be with you and my loved ones in your perpetual glory. AMEN. Thank You for your love towards me and my loved ones. Pray this prayer three consecutive days straight without asking for your wish. After the third day your wish will be granted. Promise to publish your dialogue as soon as your favor has been granted.
