Leamington announces return of outdoor patios

LEAMINGTON — At its meeting held March 23, Leamington Council approved a Temporary Outdoor Patio Program for the second consecutive year in an effort to support the Leamington business community through COVID-19 economic recovery.

The Municipality has developed temporary outdoor patio guidelines to assist business owners in extending existing or establishing new temporary patios on private and public property. In addition, there is no fee to apply and a dedicated staff team has been assembled to streamline and fast-track the review and inspection process.

“We want to support our local businesses any way we can on the road to recovery,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “We want to offer an opportunity for our residents and tourists to frequent our local restaurants and bars in a safe and enjoyable way. The Municipality received 17 temporary outdoor patio applications last year, and with an earlier start, we are hopeful to see more applications this year.”
