Erie Shores HealthCare produces Low German video
LEAMINGTON — Erie Shores HealthCare is using a unique method to reach another group in the area who may be experiencing a language barrier when it comes to testing for COVID-19.
ESHC has teamed with the Windsor Essex Community Health Centre to reach out to the Mennonite community via video message done in Low German, urging the community to come to the COVID Assessment Centre located at the hospital.
Helen Quick, from the Community Health Centre, explained the process of getting assessed and tested at the centre.
The video is about five minutes in duration.
“It’s phenomenal that we can rely on and support each other,” said Arms Bumanlag, Director of Communications and Public Relations at Erie Shores HealthCare. “Thank you to our friends at Windsor Essex Community Heath Centre for helping us and our friends in theMennonite community for helping us to get the word out.”
The video message is another example of how local agencies are being innovative in the battle against COVID-19.
