Fire prompts cannabis investigation

KINGSVILLE — On April 19 at 4:15 am, OPP Kingsville was called to the 1300 block of Road 3 East in regard to a fire. Kingsville Fire Department attended and has since contacted the Ontario Fire Marshal office, which is investigating the fire as arson.

The OPP Major Crimes Unit is also assisting with the investigation.

Preliminary investigation discovered a Cannabis Act violation and the Community Street Crimes Unit and Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team have been called in to assist further.

The investigation is in its early stages and further information will be released when available. Anyone with information regarding this or any other incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-800-210- 1122, or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
