Local winners among honourees in Best of Windsor-Essex

REGIONAL — Thirteen local businesses within the Sun readership area were honoured at the recent Best ofWindsor-Essex Awards by Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.

“For the past seven years we havecelebrated the Best of Windsor Essex bylistening to you – the voters, through this social media campaign,” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex. “We recognize thatthere have been a lot of setbacks these past two years, along this path to reopening, but there is much to celebrate and recognize in our tourism and hospitality industry.”

Point Pelee National Park garnered three awards to lead the local pack. The park was awarded Best Outdoor Attraction, Best Beach and Best County Photo Op.

Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens took the honours for Best Family Friendly Attraction, while John R. Park Homestead won Best Historical Attraction.

Pelee Island Winery won Best Winery Experience and Jack’s Gastropub Best Burger Joint.

Little House of Cupcakes in Essex took the Best Bakery Award and Dairy Freez Best Ice Cream Parlour.

Leisure Lake took top honours for Best Campground or Cottage, while Kingsville Golf and Country Club was voted Best Golf Course. Cindy’s Home and Garden was voted Best Boutique Shop.

Best Shopping District went to downtown Kingsville. And Best Unique Stay went to The Grove Hotel.

Harrow’s Walnut Grove Bed and Breakfast took the vote for Best B&B.

As well, two local businesses with multiple locations won awards. Armando’s won for Best Pizza Pie and Jose’s Bar and Grill won for Best Patio.
