Two killed in Highway 77 collision

LEAMINGTON — A two-vehicle collision on Friday, December 3 has claimed the life of two local residents.

At approximately 5:38 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment along with Essex-Windsor EMS and Leamington Fire Department responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 77, north of County Road 14 in the Municipality of Leamington.

The collision occurred between a semitruck and an SUV.

Highway 77 was closed for several hours as investigators secured the scene.

The two occupants of the SUV were pronounced deceased at the scene.
