SOUTHPOINT HOSTS 44 TEAMS

LEAMINGTON — The Breakaway Winter Classic was held over the past weekend at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre, as 44 Under-7 and Under-8 hockey teams descended upon the Highbury and Unico rinks.

Each age group was divided into two skills levels, with U7 Tier 1, U7 Tier 2, U8 Tier 1 and U8 Tier 2 teams playing 26-minute games on half ice.

In the top photo, A Tier 2 game between the Southpoint U8 Capitals and the South Kent U8 Lightning. In the bottom photo, Tier 1 teams play on the Highbury rink, where Mount Brydges U8 Cougars take on the Brantford U8 99ers.
