Accident between transport and vehicle claims two lives
LEAMINGTON — On January 27, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Leamington Fire Services responded to a two-vehicle collision on County Road 18 between Highway 77 and Morse Road, Leamington.
The collision was between a passenger vehicle and a transport truck.
The passenger vehicle had five occupants, of which one person was pronounced deceased, one person was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and another had serious injuries. The second person passed away Thursday in hospital.
The two remaining occupants were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The transport truck driver was not injured.
County Road 18 between County Road 31 and Highway 77 remains closed as the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) assist with the investigation.
Further information will be provided as it becomes available. The investigation is ongoing.
