Hot weather greets TT Seniors

On Tuesday, June 29 there were 65 seniors who tested their golfing skills at the Talbot Trail course. It was a very hot, humid day and those who walked needed to keep well hydrated.

In the 70-79y division, Dutchy continued his masterful play by firing a 37. He was closely followed by Pearcie and Rick Thompson who shot excellent 38s. Three shots back was Bobo with his satisfying 41. Chopper and BW achieved impressive 42s. Ron McCracken and Tim Stevenson carded superb scores of 43 and 44 respectively. Other noteworthy results were: Ray La Pierre and Doug Langlois 46s; Bummy, Scoop, Gary Hillier and Wayne Humber 47s; OV 48; Gary Morin 49. There were four nifty fifty scores: Larry Hyatt, Dave Cohoon, Eugene and Mac.

There were 13 birdies: #1 Dutchy; #2 Joe Drummond; #4 Rick Thompson and Tim Stevenson; #5 Ron McCracken and Fred Michano; #6 Pearcie and Gerry; #8 Joe and Dutchy; #9 Gerry, Dave Chambers and Ross MacKintosh.

The closest to the pin was won by Gerry Van Deven, as his scintillating shot ended up 18” from the pin. Ray LaPierre drained a magnificent 18 foot putt to win the LP on #2.

In the under 70 grouping, Fred Michano shot a terrific 38 to nip the brilliant 39 shot by Joe Drummond. Arky and Gerry continued their outstanding play by shooting 40 and 41 respectively. Fuzzy, Len and Ed Fraser also played well.

The 80-85 division was led by Joe Vrtel who scored a spectacular 42. Vic Reynaert and Ed Woelk played very well earning results of 47 and 49 respectively. Walter Balsam produced a nifty 50. Other praiseworthy results came from Gus Brown, Andy Orsini, Neil Adamson, Terry Bee, Conrad Babkirk and Ken Womack.

In the Super Senior Silver grouping both Tom Hyatt and Bob Freure played outstandingly as they shot impressive 47s. Bill Edwards also had a noteworthy result.

The Super Senior Gold division had some very inspiring results. Gerry Becigneul and Dave LaBonte scored sensational 45 and 46 results respectively. Murray Cascadden and Erle Nash shot very commendable scores of 51and 52.

She’ll leave me: “My wife says she’s leaving me if I don’t give up golf. “What are you going to do?” “Miss her terribly!”
