FUTURE DOCTORS IN LEAMINGTON

Ten first-year medical students at the Schulich School of Medicine are spending time at Erie Shores HealthCare to observe and learn in a hospital setting and the group took the time to tour uptown Leamington on Wednesday, June 1.

The group is part of a program which sends medical students to rural hospitals across the province during Discovery Week, a mandatory placement at the end of the first school year.

Uptown BIA coordinator Jill Nicholson guided the students through the tour, which included stops at the Leamington Arts Centre and other uptown points of interest.

Here, the students meet at the library just before going on the tour. Absent was Amandi Perera, who is from Waterloo. They all agreed that Leamington is a friendly community and the staff at the hospital are exceptional.
