Erie Shores Lifewalk Sunday

LEAMINGTON — A long-awaited live event is coming to Leamington on Sunday, June 27 as the Erie Shores Health Foundation presents their Life Walk/Run/Half Marathon.

This year’s event, the 5th annual, will be a COVID-friendly event, with staggered start times and following all health guidelines.

The event will start and finish in the Erie Shores Hospice parking lot with over 150 participants so far, who have raised over $111,000 in pledges.

The 5K course will take runners and walkers from the Hospice parking lot up to Nancy, Fuller and Pearl, through Aiuto Drive and Smith Avenue and onto the Greenway trail and back. There will be a timed event and an untimed event.

The half marathon will travel a different route, starting at Hospice again but with participants heading south on the Greenway trail to Sherk Street, up County Rd 20 (Seacliff Drive) to Ruthven and back.

Masks are mandatory on site with many water stations and conveniently located hand wash stations.

“With public safety measures already in place, this will be a safe, fun and exciting way to raise money for a great cause,” say the organizers. “Whether you’re looking for a recreational challenge, racing against the clock or walking in memory of a loved one, there is something for everyone. All proceeds will benefit our local Hospice Erie Shores Campus.”

Registration is limited, but if you are interested in participating or volunteering, send an email to gloria.cavenago@ eshc.org.
