Fiery Mersea crash kills three

LEAMINGTON — Leamington OPP are investigating a fatal single vehicle accident that occurred Sunday, March 13 around 8 pm on Mersea Rd. 8.

A lone vehicle was travelling on Mersea Rd. 8 about one km east of County Rd. 37 when it left the roadway and hit a bridge embankment, catching fire. When Leamington Fire Services and Essex Windsor EMS arrived on scene, they discovered three deceased persons inside the vehicle.

The road was closed for nine hours as OPP investigators attended the scene. At press time, no names had been released. Any witnesses are asked to contact the OPP at 1-888- 310-1122.
