Waterfront Master Plan available for feedback on town website

LEAMINGTON — Through a recent public input initiative, the Municipality of Leamington now has several options and features to mull over as they finalize their Waterfront Destination Master Plan.

Among the ideas floated in the waterfront re-design, are a winter skating loop, public square for outdoor concerts, shipping container markets, an elevated public boardwalk along the beach, food truck areas and a pocket park along Foster Avenue.

The Lakeside Marina would also get a facelift within this development, which would include raised viewing platforms along the water, an extra entrance for dropoffs, and enhanced event space where the current pavilion now stands.

It would also include a revamping of Gold Coast Road, with three options to choose from.

Plans are in the preliminary stage at this point and drawings of all the options available can be seen on the town’s website at leamingtonwfmp.ca, where you can give your opinion on each option.
