You want a college that has a rich tradition and will prepare you for life after basketball. You want solid leadership with a vision, to succeed academically, be in a great location, and be part of a pillar in the community. A Note From Coach Willis My vision is that basketball would be a light that prepares young men for life by applying concepts learned through the game. We will be scholars in the classroom, leaders in the community, and competitors on the court. Energy, effort, and execution are what you will see every day from this program. We are recruiting YOU to join the South Puget Sound Community College Basketball family and our pursuit to become great.

PROGRAM GOALS We are here to build this program • Develop student-athletes, on and off the court. • Support the academic goals of our young men as they earn a degree and get ready to continue their academic journey. • Teach the importance of discovering self-identity so that our student-athletes can be positive contributors to society. • We believe in giving back to the community, being a familiar face, and a positive representation of SPSCC everywhere we go.
MEET ANTHONY BRAGGS, CLASS OF 2020 Anthony Braggs appears laser focused when he’s on the court. And while Braggs may not chatter too much when he’s playing, his actions speak volumes. His dunks are powerful, intimidating, and usually change the momentum of a game, but Braggs isn’t just all about the explosive offensive play. In fact, his defensive prowess may do more to hype up his teammates. Braggs, a native of Tacoma and graduate of Lincoln High School, was named to Northwest Athletic Conference’s All-Western Region second team in 2020 in addition to receiving all-region defensive team honors during his sophomore campaign with the Clippers. Coming out of high school, Braggs was on the radar of every NWAC school. He had plenty of options, but knew he wanted to stay close to home. At the same time, he wanted to put a little distance between himself and the City of Destiny. South Puget Sound turned out to be the perfect fit. But if you ask Braggs, it’s his off-the-court skills that have increased the most during his time at SPSCC. “How I improved as a player is I really improved my leadership skills,” Braggs said. “I was always known as a quiet leader, but for being one of the returners this year I had to step up and be that guy.”
SPSCC’s new Health & Wellness Center features a renovated gym, expanded weight room, and a new auxiliary gym.
