Alhambra Instituto Alhambra Instituto opened its first school in Málaga in 1980. It is one of the greatest centres specialised in Spanish as foreign language. At Alhambra Instituto Malaga all of our programs are aligned with and based on the Instituto Cervantes. The curriculum and teaching plans are framed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You will participate in 20/25/30/35 lessons per week held either in the morning or the afternoon. Combi Intensive Course
This course consists of 20 or 25 lessons each week. It’s the perfect course to choose if you want to combine a stay in Spain with language classes or if you have business obligations. The Intensive Spanish course has 4 lessons a day and it allows students to complement holidays with language study. We recommend this course for those who wish to combine an intensive language course with practical and comunicative Spanish in real life situations. Super-Intensive PLUS Super-Intensive Course This course consists of 30 lessons each week. It is designed to encourage quick progress in Spanish communication. Classes are small with 6-10 participants per group. The course duration is 1 weeks or more. The level of Spanish spoken in class is adjusted to fit the abilities and needs of the students. This course is especially suitable for: a) Students who need to prepare for and pass their examinations in their countries, or those who want to pass the DELE exams (from the Spanish Ministry of Education). b) Professionals (secretaries, engineers, stewardesses, pilots, lawyers, bankers, etc.) who only have a short time to study in Spain. D.E.L.E. Preparation Courses
If you require Spanish language training that is truly focussed on the particular needs of business, then you have come to the right place. All our business courses are intensive, dynamic, practical and skills-based. Our teachers are very experienced - and they recognise that not all businesses are the same. So our courses are flexible enough to reflect the needs of participants.
Upon successful completion of the D.E.L.E. exam the internationally recognized “Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera” (D.E.L.E.: Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) is awarded. The D.E.L.E. exam takes place in May and November in Málaga, Sevilla, Salamanca and 15 other cities throughout Spain, as well as at the Spanish Embassy and Cultural Institutes of Spain in your home country. There are over 100 testing centers all over the world. The Alhambra Instituto Internacional offers an intensive 2 to 4 week preparation course to obtain this internationally recognized diploma offered by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. The exam is offered at three levels; inicial, básico and superior. To obtain the ‘inicial’ diploma, students require at least a pre-intermediate level, for the ‘basico’ diploma, an intermediate level and for the ‘superior’ an advanced or superior level to begin the course.
This course is designed for people who already speak and understand Spanish. The goal is to learn how to structure your speech correctly, how to define concepts and how to speak and write properly in the Spanish business world. Individual Course Our Individual Spanish Course offers our participants a flexible individual learning programme. The course is dedicated to the personal and specific needs of each student. Lawyers Spanish Course
Flamenco classes are a great way to get in shape and have fun, and tuition is suitable for all ages and abilities, beginners to advanced, children and adults. You do not need to be a trained dancer, nor do you have to be young and streamlined - no matter your age or shape, our flamenco dance classes will have something for you!
The main objective of the course is to build participants’ legal vocabulary, classroom discussion skills, and presentation capabilities. Our Spanish for Law course covers many different types of law, for example, commercial law, family law, criminal law, intellectual propertylaw, medialaw, to name but a few. The course consists of 5 hours daily of general Spanish in a group (max. 10 students in the class) and 1 lessons of Legal Spanish in special group for Legal Spanish (max 5 students in the class)/ or Individual lesson in type B).
This class will introduce students to Flamenco dance technique with special atention to arms, hands and movements of the body. We will study a flamenco style through a choreography. We will learn how the rhythm goes and how to play palmas. Internship + Spanish Course Alhambra Instituto offers a professional internship experience in sunny Malaga and other cities of Andalucia. Each program begins with full time intensive Spanish language training in a group environment with other international students from all over the world. Special Courses II - Courses for Teachers ELE Alhambra Instituto Málaga runs a range of development courses for Spanish language teachers working in Spain or Overseas. Courses are aimed at non native Spanish speakers who are teaching Spanish as a foreign language, or who want to train to teach Spanish as a second language. Teacher development Spanish courses are very practical and interactive, and will give you lots of ideas that you can use in your own classrooms. The maximum group size is 10, and by working alongside other Spanish Language teachers you will also increase your confidence and knowledge of teaching practice. Refresher Course for Teachers Spanish Language and Methodology Refresher Improves competence in Spanish; enhances techniques and activities for use with students; helps to evaluate published materials for young learners. The target of this course is to give teachers of Spanish as a foreign/second language an update of the latest teaching methods from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Combi Teachers course + Web 2 + Virtual This course will enable Language Teachers of Spanish to use Web 2.0 tools to support teaching and learning: Communication, Cultures, Comparisons, Connections, and Communities. The Spanish for teachers Course consist in 5 lessons daily divided in 2 modules: a) module of refresh Methodology for teaching Spanish from 9:00 to 11:00 and b) module of New Technologies applied to the classroom: we will share reviews of educational technology resources you can use in your classroom, from 11:20 to 14:00. Participants will explore tools such as blogs, social bookmarking, asynchronous text and audio discussions, multimedia sharing sites, and videopodcasts. They will also be expected to complete and submit a final product consisting of a lesson plan that incorporates at least four of the Web 2.0 tools introduced in the course. Spanish Family Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture by having us arrange your accommodations with a host family. Almost 80% students choose to live with a host family during the first weeks of their program.. Staying with a host family is an important and rewarding part of the student’s learning process. The students receive their own house key and are only required to bring their own towels. Students can choose half-board or full-board, as accommodation in a single or a double room. If there is more than one student with a family we will look for an international roommate in order to encourage the use of Spanish 24 hours a day. To select the type of accommodation that suits you best or to inform us of any special (nutritional) needs, you can indicate your preference on the bottom of the registration form. Living with a Spanish host Family: we ask that you reserve your accommodation at least 2 weeks in advance. Malaga and Alicante are popular tourist destinations and if you are booking your accommodation during high season we advise you to make the reservation as soon as possible. We do accept last minute reservations if there is space, please check accommodation availability with us. What means to live with a Spanish family? * Sleeping in a single or double room, sharing the the rest of the flat/house with the family * Half board - morning and lunch meals. * You’ll be integrated in the daily life of the family, you’ll form part of them, they’ll treat you as their friend * They’ll support you with your exercises as well the can (they are not teachers, but they’re living the daily Spanish).
Apartments, students flats Appartments : the possibility to live in shared furnished apartment, in individual rooms (or double if you come with two friends). The minimum duration is 2 weeks. The students or the participants of our courses can reserve an apartment for them or search by themselves another type of accomodation. Thus you shared your life with 3, 4 or 5 people of the Institute. You have in common: a living room where you can meet or watch television, a kitchen to prepare your meals and one or more bathroom. That means that you will live with people of different nationality and that you will endeavour to speak Spanish.
Hotels, Pensions or No Accommodation: If you wish we can help you find a hotel or pension which meets your requirements. If you prefer any other accommodation or arranged your own accomodation this of course is no problem at all.

Alhambra organizes barbecue/paella once a week. The students get the opportunity to cook typical Spanish food and of course enjoy eating it afterwards.
At the weekends, the students can visit nearby places on one of our well organized excursions. These excursions can be a half or full day, including entrance to tourist attractions and guided tours.
We take our students on cultural activities like guided tours through the city centers to visit the theatre and festivals, carnivals etc. Anything which will make our students familiar with Spanish culture and history. Our students get the pleasure of typical Spanish tapas on one of our Tapas safaris, a guided tour into the world of the “Bares de Tapas”. We visit the best tapas bars and hopefully the night continues into the early morning!
Some excursions take place over a weekend (Morocco), depending on the city where you study.
Salsa and Flamenco are latin dances that are appreciated all over Spain. At Alhambra we offer courses in dance and music for anyone who is curious. Our schools offer movies in our modern media halls. The movies are shown in Spanish with English subtitles. All the activities help students to improve their Spanish in their free time. everything to improve the Spanish even on the free time.
Each school also organizes outdoor activities in the afternoons like, beach volleyball, football, basketball, walking, cycling, horse riding and much more. Alhambra Instituto Internacional knows that it´s not only in the classroom that our students improve their Spanish. We want them to take part in activities which give them the opportunity to combine pleasure with work. We also want our students to get to know each other, and to make friendships with others from all over the world. Some of the activities are included in the price, others not. The success of our activities is due to the fact that we are open to the suggestions from Agencies, teachers and students. It is clear that extra-curricular activities and excursions are greatly appreciated by students , not just as an opportunity for all the students to get to know one another better, but also to gain a better understanding of the culture and way of life of the country. By Airplane The Málaga Airport is accessible from most of the mayor European and International airports. You can take the Bus from the airport to the centre of Málaga (Paseo del Parque stop) for 1 euro. Every 20 minutes.

How to get the School By Bus
You will find the bus stop on the forecourt outside the new Malaga Airport Terminal 3. You will also see a new booth/ticket office there where you can purchase your tickets for the journey. The Malaga City Bus line A goes right into Malaga City (but stops quite a few times, the last stop is “Paseo del Parque”). The first bus leaves the airport around 07:00 on most days and the last bus leaves the airport around midnight. From Paseo del Parque, take the bus nº11 to “El Palo”. Buses run every 25-30 minutes and from Malaga bus station start at around 06:30 with the last one departing at 23:20. The new suburban train station in the new Terminal T3 building links Malaga Airport with the city centre in one direction and the resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol in the other. The new train station is situated underground, but it is very spacious with plenty of natural light as it is partially built with glass walls and roof. Trains run every 30 minutes from 07:03 to 23:49. The trains from Malaga City to the Airport leave every half hour between 05:33 to 22:33 . The train fare costs between 1.20 € and 1.30 € depending on the day of travel.
