Typ. A typical workflow for architectural rendering typically requires at least two in person meetings. The first to communicate the project and overall intent of the final rendering, exchange digital material etc. and second to review the rendering options prior to postproduction.

Environmental Modeling

Client provides digital model in any .dwg format. This model is comlete and contains all geometry to be rendered.

Client provides direction on the desired scene, camera angle, scope, cropping. Information is provided on the desired materials. These can be physical samples, photographs, poetic descriptions etc. A "mock up" is created and reviewed with the client.

Client provides direction on lighting, context and environment. A series of renderings are created and reviewed with client. After selecting the desired rendering, the image is refined further, formatted and delivered - ready for print, web hosting, tee-shirt printing...

Typ. When more sophisticated modeling is required, BIM softwares like REVIT may be the best modeling option. A BIM model can be geolocated, providing accurate sun angles and other environmental information over a length of time.

Client provides CAD plans, sections as well as important site information like setbacks, height limits, site access etc.

Based on this information, a BIM model is created and geolocated. The scene can then be accurately evaluated on environmental conditions like daylighting a plaza at various times of the year.

Client provides direction on lighting, context, materials and entourage. A series of renderings are created and reviewed with client. After selecting the desired rendering, the image is refined further, formatted and delivered - ready for print, web hosting, tee-shirt printing...

Ex. The client in this example was an Architect. One of her projects required a 3D rendering to present during a neighborhood review and to provide her client to assist in their fundraising efforts. The client provided a preliminary set of CAD drawings and a series of sketches outlining the overall intent of the image, material, and camera angle. The timeline was 1 week from innitial meeting to final delivery.
