#Shelfie House Designed for a client with a vast collection of music equipment, records, and cameras, this house was developed with display in mind. The walls are lines with display shelves that give meter to the building on the interior and ex terior via the change in CMU color. The display shelves, not only ser ving as shelves, become marks for usable space such as railings, counter tops and steps. The form draws inspiration from the Phoenix Grid which is heavily delineated. The orange path that winds through the house is analogous to the Phoenix Canal system which weave through the cit y Programs: Rhino, V-Ray

Ritual of Collecting The client has a extensive and growing collection of items that she hold dear to her heart. Therefore the design was partly driven by the ability to showcase her collection.

20’ x 20’ cube based off of the WORKING GARBAGE serves as a base for the generation of the form The 20’ x 20’ cube is then repeated to create the LIVING and KITCHEN SPACES The CIRCULATION path enters as a weaving line bisecting the cubes The circulation path expands and begins to modify the cubes OPENING them up to views SOUTH, NORTH and EAST. Terminating at the bedroom/garage volume, the circulation path reveals itself on the facade as a BALCONY oriented for views WEST, while freeing a small COURTYARD between the living and garage spaces.

Thorncrown Visitor Center In response to the need for a visitor center for Thorncrown Chapel this project was designed to act as a gateway. There is a controlled visual approach to the chapel with views being granted and denied as one maneuvers the project. The foundation and retaining walls are ar ticulated in such away as if they had been pulled from the rock face to create a plinth, upon which a wood clad volume rests. programs: Rhino, V-ray
