Nervous tissue: Nervous tissue is the primary tissue of the central and peripheral nervous systems and conducting nerve impulses and is composed of neurons.The nervous system regulates and controls bodily functions and activity and consists of two parts: the central nervous system (CNS) comprising the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS) comprising the branching peripheral nerves.

The function of nervous tissue is to form the communication network of the nervous system by conducting electric signals across tissue. Neurons are the basic unit of nervous tissue. They are responsible for sensing stimuli and transmitting signals to and from different parts of an organism. In addition to neurons, specialized cells known as glial cells serve to support nerve cells.

he dome at Krøyers square, named Dome of Visions, is designed by the Danish architects Kristoffer Tejlgaard and Benny Jepsen and constructed by NCC. Dome of Visions is a new, temporary space in Copenhagen. The Dome will encourage and create life in one of the city’s prominent open spaces which is temporarily put a side behind construction cranes and freight containers.

This is done by talking to and showing the representatives from the Danish building sector the benefits of building in breathable materials, the benefits of the wind and frost-free climate of the greenhouse dwellings and finally the benefits of integrating nature with our homes, which is possible in the greenhouse dwelling.

A

ll construction is temporary; it is only a matter of perspective. The fact that Dome of Visions is ‘more’ temporary than many other buildings provides a stronger invitation to think about the circuits the materials are a part of and to contemplate how the building is constructed in order to be disassembled again as well as the ways in which the constituent- elements can enter the world in new ways. However, the thoughts are equally relevant and required in all other construction.

When the dome is clad with polycarbonate in rhombus shapes, instead of hexagons or triangles, waste is reduced from the sheets and at the overlapping joints. When the curved CNC-milled beams can be assembled in a simple laser cut steel node, the amount of steel is reduced and the production is optimized in a way that makes it easier to assemble and requires less energy.

his achitecture is in the shape of a bamboo basket. It is built on a joint system called “Jiigoku-Gumi,” traditional method used in Japanese wooden architecture (often observed in Shoji: vertical and cross pieces in the same width are entwined in each other to form a muntin grid)

he focus of the project is a parallel bottom-up design strategy for the biomimetic investigation of natural fiber composite shells and the development of novel robotic fabrication methods for fiber reinforced polymer structures. The aim was the development of a winding technique for modular, double layered fiber composite structures, which reduces the required formwork to a minimum while maintaining a large degree of geometric freedom.

During the investigation, the Elytron, a protective shell for beetles’ wings and abdomen, has proved to be a suitable role model for highly material efficient construction. The performance of these lightweight structures relies on the geometric morphology of a double layered system and the mechanical properties of the natural fiber composite. The anisotropic characteristic of this material, which consists of chitin fibers embedded in a protein matrix, allows for locally differentiated material properties.

or the fabrication of the geometrically unique, double curved modules a robotic coreless winding method was developed, which uses two collaborating6-axis industrial robots to wind fibers between two custom-made steel frame effectors held by the robots.

The effectors are adjustable to various component geometries, leading to only one reconfigurable tool setup for all 36 elements. Coreless filament winding does not only save substantial resources through the needlessness of individual molds, but in itself is a very material efficient fabrication process since there is no waste or cut-off pieces.

3019 piece non-hierarchical surface structure extends in three parts through the atrium of the architecture school,forming the spatial design element of the exhibition the structure snakes through the space, enclosing and framing the students’ works.

Each of the 3019 unique pieces in the structure is made of custom milled plywood. Each piece has 4 notches through which it is attached to 4 other pieces.

hrough development of computation and prototyping a simplified way of assembly and fixing techniques, using notches, was identified. This also allowed the team to achieve flush edges at the joints, as the depth of each notch was half the width of a piece.

Because of the complex variance in three dimensional intersection angles, it was realized that a single notch dimension would not be sufficient for the entire structure. Consequently, the Grasshopper definition was edited to include a variable notch size so that each notch would be loose enough to receive its neighboring pieces yet tight enough for the overall stability and rigidity of the pavilion
