Lorraine Jara, Founder of Be Kind to Humankind week, thought of the idea after reading a tragic story of a boater in her hometown who passed away as a direct result of passersby refusing to help. After reading the story, Lorraine shared, "That's when I thought, they have a Be Kind to Animals Week so why not have a Be Kind to Humankind Week. People need people; it’s as simple as that. In order to have the power to make the world a better place, we must first change our attitudes for the better. We can create our own good news if we choose to do so!"

"With your continued show of support and enthusiasm, Be Kind to Humankind Week will continue to inspire, comfort and enrich many more lives. "

And so, Be Kind to Humankind Week was born, taking place for one week each year beginning August 25th. Learn more about Be Kind to Human Kind Week on their website: bk2hk.org/.
