VIOLENCE Aaron Wilson WTVP - Public Television at WTVP

A well- known principle describing the connection between a father’s active development of his children and how these kids interact with their own surroundings as they mature is, “an apple doesn’t fall too far from its tree.” Overwhelming evidence has been gathered from many social experts as to how children who engage in violence grow up in families with missing fathers and damaged family structures. Studies have been presented that show how delinquent activity of these youth have ravaged the broader ‘community support system’ that makes up what we consider to be the ‘American Way.’ In an effort to re-establish the basic communal code that structured families into functioning as assets to a more broad public, members of Congress and other legislators are seeking out the root causes of the disintegration of the ‘family tree’ that rooted all societies and pressed forth fruitage that furthered new generations toward greater social function. Violence is defined as: strength of

Page 8

emotion or an unpleasant and destructive natural force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something. The most dramatic cases of violence can be found among the youth. Adolescents moving into adulthood without a father’s direct involvement tend to engage in aggressive criminal activity that pains themselves and society in general, with little to no regard for the costs. In 2008, U.S. law enforcement agencies 2.11 million youths under the age of 18, while the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported youth violence to be the second leading cause of death for people between the ages of 10 and 24 in 2010. Intervention is being worked toward through some common sense initiatives and accountability. And with all social groups realizing how these incidents somehow eventually ‘hit home’ for everyone, more detailed factors can be looked at through a shared lens.

life. The concept of discipline, both proactive and reactive, is generally administered through the father’s seemed natural authority. When children encounter conflict more frequently as they grow without parameters to help them to understand how to manage situations through prevention and communication methods, some simple disagreements can appear to them as threats to their being. Especially at times in their lives where peer acceptance and obtaining material resources become more important and pressing, many kids value their personal ‘space’ in direct relation to their world as a whole. Behaviors seen and experienced are implemented while navigating through daily social functioning. These are sometimes perceived as their only defense mechanisms from becoming victims of violence. Also, some violent acts come to be thought of as being acceptable A father’s physical absence from an ‘handling’ of circumstances. aging household, alone, adds to the Basically, a balanced empathy and understanding of what makes up likelihood of a child cultivating healthy relationships are impeded by violent tendencies on into his adult lack of consistent training.

Where children look to for social membership also plays a big role in them becoming violent citizens. Recent figures show illegitimate birth rates in many urban neighborhoods to be up to a staggering 80 percent. As children move into adolescence just before becoming adults, a very forceful invisible ‘push’ is made toward their accepting some sort of established role in the public they’re aware of. This is where groupings like gangs take firm holds on neighborhoods. Misguided energy must still seek a place to thrive. In efforts satisfy wants and needs, those who end up in these affiliations take a callous approach to human interaction. Some youths are attracted to these settings in seeking some alternative structure in their livelihoods. Some simply participate in the activities that go along with these groups in order to feel as though they are the hunter, rather than the hunted. Who can truly distinguish between which youths are looking for protection and those who truly feed off of another person’s pain? The acts caused by the effects easily form a curtain between public sectors that can become solid as steel sometimes.

within the very fabric of society. After all, having the ability to live among a group of people with shared and unique ideas about what healthy lifestyles are equals out to what we deem to be freedom and liberty. But even these qualities that mark us as being most civil come with personal obligations that keep a fine grid in place that we can all knit toward. It is an issue that’s being placed on everyone’s laps here lately, due to some crimes being daunting enough to capture instant and automatic national attention. As a whole, the American public is realizing that all backyards paint the front grass green. We are witnessing these crimes collectively, even if only through observation. There is almost no real choice in believing what we can now see more of ourselves.

The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, supported by President Clinton’s Administration and enacted recently, provides billions of dollars toward fostering new social programs designed to curb violence resulting from social decay. President Obama signed into law the Claims Resolution Act of 2010, authorizing $105 million for programs that promote healthy marriages and responsible fathers. The idea is to vaccinate the roots of the problems in order to refurbish the ‘garden’, so to speak. What is just as fascinating as these domestic observations is the fact that research shows these issues to be unilateral across all racial lines. Different faces wind up in the same places when they see the same images and sense the same surroundings. Intervention of violent crime by official authority figures does patch the bleeding some on a running red waterfall, but some acceptance of responsibility has to come from

Dr. Nathaniel J. Williams was a orphan and foster child who is now a noted author, lecturer, TV talk show host, trainer, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. Who says you can only do one great thing in life. Dr. Williams has notably shown that not to be true. My interview with Dr. Williams has simply been observant, no conversation on how he stared working toward his vision. I ‘ve purely observed him take people under his wing (both children and adults )encouraging and empowering them with the necessary tools to attain their personal best. Reflection, Discovery and Action are all great attributes I’ve seen in his character. His smile represents the sincerity of his personal and professional development. His firm hand shake shows you how committed he is in helping others realize their full potential. I sat in awe I one day as he aided someone in making a balanced decision through self discipline. His walk highlights his managerial leadership gifts with each step being prompt, as well as pristine. He choose to use the three P’s as prompt, pristine ,and particular methods, whereas my visual of him is prophet, priest, and person who has great power. His energy is robust as he a de3votes great deal of time to providing training and workshops for employees and community members in areas such as stress management, time management, ethics, conflict avoidance and resolution, and customer service and loyalty. His achievements are outstand and have inspired me to learn how to be joyful everywhere I go. Something Wrong With Being Single? Recently I was asked by a fellow minister

There is a blessing in being single. One of the blessings in being single is that you can ac-

him was yes it is an issue and it is growing bigger achieve your goals. The other side of being single is that you get tired of the waiting process and the and bigger, in this article I will attempt to show you why being single is an issue. There is a growing epidemic of singleness in the black community now days that has taken a life of its own. One of the main reasons single life is growing In our community is because people are not seeking marriage, they are seeking shacking up or living with each other for years, which is sad. If you living with a person for 2 or more years simply go down to city hall, get a marriage license, and make it legal,. Society is depicting that marriage is outdated and that is for grandma and grandpa era. However, I am sorry to say that marriage is a great institution that has been around since the beginning of time and I think that it should still be used in 2013. As we watch on television and the movies that come out now, you see more people living together rather than married to each. Society has depicted that a woman should have a child by a man instead of being married before marriage.

process of elimination. I tell people now days that dating in this day in time is a like a full-time job do not apply if you are not ready for the challenge. Dating now means, you have to truly get to know someone in and out. Also, look at all the red flags that pop up when someone truly show you who he or she are.

So in closing there is

nothing wrong with being single in this day and time especially when you keep running into people who are not on your level or have nothing to offer your or themselves. In closing in the words of Don Cornelius‌.Love, Peace and SOUL!!!!!

According to Webster’s imagination is “the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality. Sounds like faith, although the definition is accurate there is something more astonishingly revealing about what imagination truly is. All things exist in the human imagination. Everything in the world had to first be imagined and then executed, Thereby leaving a more definitive definition of imagination which is creation. We are still exploring vision but we have to conceive the blueprint first. An experience in prayer which is the subjective appropriation of the objective hope is the way to successfully fulfilling your vision. This allows God to reveal himself to you freely because it frees itself from anything that limits you or

Love Notes Lets Talk About It, Love, Hate, Abuse, Simply The Matters of the Heart.

Poetic Justice or Share Your Mind Let’s take a look at this thing called matters of the heart, which is a very dangerous place to travel when you want to share advice about situations involving love relationships, good, bad, or abusive, how does one deal with the matters of the heart? Above all we must understand what types of offenses we are dealing with. Always remember it’s not flesh and blood that we often fight or disagree with but we wrestle against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness in high places. Principalities are ruling devil spirits possessing executive authority or governmental rule in the world. We easily see this daily in our media. “There are evil angels ruling the kingdoms of the world that oppose the truth of God, and of which Satan is the chief prince or ruler, of both the world system and its organization of demons, as noted in the gospel of Matthew.” Evil is always present and introduces itself through these type of forces. If we are going to understand life and how to live in this world, we have to be a believer in other sources that infiltrates the minds of the nonbeliever as well as make suggestions to the believer. The Greek word for "powers" is exousia which means derived or conferred authority, the warrant or right to do something, or delegated influences of control. We must continuously make our request known unto God and understand that the minute you asked him to come to your assistance he did. If you know the history of the bible when Daniel prayed to the Lord it took 21 days before the answer was received because of the fight going on between the heavenly

The Greek word for wickedness is ponēria and means depravity and particularly in the sense of malice and mischief, plots, sins, and iniquity (Strong's Gk. Dict.). Women Beware the beastly nature in man will tear your heart asunder, leaving you severely aggravated, growing into a mild state of depression, because they don't understand their emotions nor the pain they send to the brain, tormenting your mind with anguish and disgust. You as a woman can only take so many punches before your fall. Besides if God made choice of your life you must come to grips with self and realize that not just any man can partake in your life as your partner. Keep your eyes on the stars and be observant of the beastly nature in man. The beginning of our Love Notes

Questions I Asked And Answered To Develop Personal Awareness Most people are not aware that developing personal awareness is an important factor to success. Personal Awareness In my last post, I talked about pausing to reflect. And to reflect, require asking yourself questions. I know for some people it will not be easy to ask relevant questions that will help them grow in personal awareness. As Anthony Robbins says, successful people ask better questions and as a result, they get better answers. What Is My Biggest Asset? I believe that my greatest asset has been my attitude to think positive. People who know me good, always think that I don’t have problem. Well I do have my ups and downs, but I don’t allow the problems I have get me down or distract me from what is important. Answering this question will not only encourage you to cultivate positive attitude, but you can also extend it to others by talking positively into their lives. 2. What Is My Biggest liability? I do have unrealistic expectation and naturally optimistic, I underestimate how much time, money and effort that endeavors will require, and that can get me into trouble. Answering this question, in my journey to personal awareness, it has modified my Expectations to be realistic and creating more realistic goals that I can meet.

3. What Is My Highest High? I cannot imagine life without my family. Without a doubt, my family is the source of my highest highs in my life.

What Is My Lowest Low? My lowest low has also come as a result of family. Because I love my family so much. I almost never say no.. I love to please my family and sometimes they mis-use it. I’m definitely not an egoist. 4.

How has this help me to grow in my personal awareness? Knowing that the best and worst of life is related to family. It has helped me to enjoy the time I have with my family, and also learn sometimes to say no and think f or myself. 5. What Is My Most Worthwhile Emotion? To me, I think there is nothing like worthwhile emotion than love.. We are at our best when we love what we do, love our family, friends etc. Love is a choice and often requires effort. So to love others as I would like to do. I must be intentional about it and choose to love every day. 6. What Is My Least Worthwhile Emotion? The least attractive emotion not only for me, but for any person is self-pity. It is destructive and self-serving. A sentence taken from Eugene H. Peterson in Earth and Altar. Self-pity is incapacity, a crippling emotional disease that severely distorts our perception for reality. So knowing the negative effects of self-pity reminds me to avoid it. It cannot help me to grow in my personal awareness, it will always harm me. So I learn to avoid it. 7. What Is My Best Habit? I work hard to follow through on daily discipline because I believe a person’s secret to success is found in his/her daily agenda. I continue to work hard to grow in this area.

8. What Is My Worst Habit? Without doubt, my worst personal trait is impatience. It is part of my nature. As a child, my mother will be happy if I would sit still. I have learned now that there are things in life that you have to work for and there are things you have to wait for. I’m still growing when it comes to waiting.

The above ten question where one I actually asked myself to prompt me to reflect and help me grow in the area of personal awareness.

You can ask yourself any question in any area of your life to help you pause, focus and learn.

9. What Is The Most Fulfilling To Me? The thing I enjoy doing most is communicating to people. When I communicate, I know I am in my strength zone. I feel most fulfill and I make the greatest impact. I was almost 20 years selfemployed hairdresser and sometimes see myself as Counselor. Some people would come to me not because they wanted to do their hair, but that they could talk to me and I listen and tell them my opinion. However, I continue to try to grow as a communicator. The value I receive from asking this question today is that it helps me to stay focus to growing my personal awareness in this area. 10. What Do I prize Most Highly? I value nothing as highly as I do my faith. It forms my value. It guides my actions. It is the foundation of my leadership and what I teach my Team. It is my source and my security. Mother Theresa said, faith keeps the person who keeps the faith. And I found that to be true. Faith is trusting in advance what will only make sense in reverse. Philip Yancey. Having faith and knowing its value in my life helps me to keep a divine perspective every day. Self Awareness As a network marketer, there are areas in your life that you would like to grow.. Motherland's Gold I Can RUN Since I Started Taking Motherland's Gold Moringa...

I sustained a knee injury about 4 months ago. So, 2 weeks ago, I started taking Motherland's Gold Moringa to help with it. I am a frequent public transportation rider, so of course I'm always on the go. Well today, I had to run for the train. I literally flew down TWO flights of steps just to make it. I haven't been able to walk fast, let alone run anywhere, until I started taking Motherland's Gold Moringa. I am such a true believer, that I advise everyone to try this gold mine of a product!! - T. Ministry Devoted To Developing And Strengthening Lives Today For A Richer Tomorrow

Telling it all from the heart Be still and know that I am God, Psalm 46 v. 10. When we come to understand this verse in the Bible we know that we have to put everything in God's hand and let God work. Know for certain that God is in the midst of your situation. Trusting in Him and leaving your situation in His hands. All things come to those who believe in His Word. God is always on time in all situations. We need to put all our issues into God's hand and Let Go and Let God work in our lives. God will not forsake us. Keep holding on to the Faith. God makes all things beautiful in His time.

How The Book Came About When I was going through my own issues, I was not sure what to do. Although, I spoke to a family member or friend about some of my issues, I was still going through my own pain, then I heard a still small voice inside of me said: My child, why don't you "Tell it all to me", I will never forsake you, I understand your pain, put your trust in me. That still small voice was "Jesus". He said to me, "be still and know that I am God". I started telling it all to Jesus. I cried out my heart to Him, I said, Jesus, Jesus, and in the midst of everything, my words developed into a manuscript. You see, God said, He would never leave us nor forsake us. Tell it all to Jesus.

This dispirited and sometimes depressing state of affairs defies all that bible tells us to believe and this conflict contributes to befouling the whole definition of the “Pillar of Truth,” (1 Tim.3:15 the church), the House of God. What so many people call “hypocrisy” in the church, in so many instances stem from this unconscious conflicting complex and is often the cause of a lack of performance or faithfulness. Editorial Vision and Faith....one in the same to me. Reality can mean so much and so many things. Energy to even be able to focus is given, along with some concepts along the way to help one to see a center point from which the "big picture' opens and reveals more of itself. But is all seeing really believing?

My experience up to this point tells me that this depends much on how I choose to focus every day's criteria.

It also tells me to develop a peripheral awareness of imagery outside of my focus. A shared energy lends itself to what we borrow from it.

Even so, a structured and sustained standing is fixed beyond ever being broken.

Visions have many stones of different colors once you find yours you’ll finally see what you been searching the world for.
