With Nicola Arcedeckne-Butler, MW Qualifying as a Master of Wine in 1996 and picking up a Villa Maria Viticulture Award along the way, Nicola has become a specialist not only in South African wine, but the classic French regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, too. It was her time in Italy during her twenties that ignited her passion for their wine (and language), resulting in her broad knowledge of both subjects. Having started her wine career in 1987 with Majestic Wine Warehouses, she then moved on to Corney & Barrow, moving up from helping to set up the broking department to becoming the company’s wine buyer. She has most recently set up Private Cellar, where she buys wine; a true specialist and asset to the Arblaster & Clarke brand.

CRUISING THE ARBLASTER & CLARKE WAY...

Expert-selected wines All of the wines on board your private yacht have been carefully hand-selected by our experts, ensuring that you’ll taste the very best produce from the destinations visited along the way. If you treat yourself to a place on our Tyrrhenian Sea cruise next summer, every bottle of wine will have been specially chosen for the tour, ensuring that the meals you enjoy are perfectly complemented by what’s in your glass.

Visit hidden spots Travelling by sea will allow us to take you to places that are a little harder to reach by land. Hop aboard Le Ponant in 2019 and we’ll take you to the beautiful Ponza beach - accessible only by boat. After swimming in its gorgeous waters, we will continue to cruise around Palmarola, where a bizarre geological formation known as La Cattedrale can be seen - its volcanic rock rising dramatically from the sea.

Your own private yacht The biggest highlight of taking a cruise with Arblaster & Clarke is the fact that we have privately chartered the luxury yacht, Le Ponant, for the duration of the tour. Enjoy a cruise in splendid isolation, with just the crew, your fellow travellers and guides for company. With the yacht to yourself, it’s easy to take full advantage of its facilities, to dive from the swim deck into the sea and to revel in this decadent experience.
