Little Green Bins Debut at North Creekside
COMMUNITY EVENTS
In April, neighbors at North Creekside Apartments were the first in the city to receive a Little Green Bin recycling bin. The bins are part of a pilot program intended to increase recycling at apartments in the city. The bins are designed to store recyclables until they can be transported to an on-site collection station near the North Creekside office. On April 24, North Creekside and Fayetteville’s Waste Management division hosted a kickoff event at North Creekside. City staff distributed bins door-todoor and provided information about recycling. North Creekside managers Kendra and Alicia treated residents to food and drinks, and the Recycle Something team gave away lots of goodies including water bottles and T-shirts. Thanks to everyone who participated—now let’s recycle something!
Emily Chase receives a Little Green Bin and discusses Fayetteville’s recycling program with Environmental Educator Elizabeth Hill at the Little Green Bin event at North Creekside Apartments. The bins are designed to collect metals, plastics, paper, and cardboard with the intention of increasing the amount of waste diverted from our landfill.
