Recycling is Thriving at Willow Park

Willow Park has joined the Little Green Bin program. All Specialized Real Estate Group properties in Fayetteville now offer recycling—a rarity for apartments. We’ve heard from several devoted recyclers at Willow Park who are glad that they don’t have to drive materials to recycling centers. We’re pleased to bring you this convenience, and to help our community and planet together!

Don’t be ‘That Guy’

Did you know that when you don’t sort recyclables properly, you can ruin it for everyone? If even 3% of a truckload is contaminated with junk, the whole load may be rejected and sent to a landfill. So please think twice before you throw a banana peel in with the aluminum cans. Bottom line: Don’t be That Guy—make sure that you sort your recyclables!

This market is within walking distance from North Creekside, Willow Park, and the Razorback Greenway.

Farmers’ Market Recipe

BASIL PARMESAN DIP This recipe, adapted from Cooking Light, is a great use for a bounty of basil, whether from one of our community gardens or the farmer’s market. INGREDIENTS 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1 cup lightly packed basil leaves (about 1/2 ounce) 3/4 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese 3/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice 1 garlic clove, minced Basil sprigs (optional) Combine pepper, basil, and next 4 ingredients (through garlic) in a blender or food processor; process until smooth. Scrape into a serving bowl using a rubber spatula. Garnish with basil sprigs, if desired. Serve with pita chips or fresh veggies.

Summer Poolside Reads

OUR MANAGERS SHARE THEIR FAVORITES There’s one thing our property mangers have in common: they are all voracious readers. The NotePad caught up with Gabe, Alicia, and Kendra to talk summer reading. Here are their recommendations for those lazy summer afternoons. Never Never by Paula Hawkins “Kendra, Gabe, and I have all gotten caught up in this series of novellas. The characters have to figure out what is making them forget every 48 hrs and why. The first book was a very quick read, perfect for the pool, and it keeps you on the edge. The second in the series was just released, and I’m addicted!” —Alicia Morales ECO Modern Flats

You know what your problem is, it’s that you haven’t seen enough movies - all of life’s riddles are answered in the movies.” —Steve Martin

SUMMER MOVIES The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins “OMG what a great British murder/ mystery book! The intricate details the writer inserted into this book were amazing…and for once I did not see the end coming until it happened. I love not being able to figure it out!” —Kendra Butterfield North Creekside Apartments

The False Prince by Jennifer Neilsen “What I like most about this adventure series is that there are surprises at every turn. When you think things can’t get worse, they do, but the hero always makes it through. This is the first of a trilogy, so you may get hooked and end up reading all three!” —Gabriel Soto Willow Park and Rogers Properties
