Sydney has enjoyed services at Janus for a while and recently started working with an Employment Consultant in January of this year! Sydney brought some great work experiences but was still unsure of what she wanted to do. The Employment Consultant and Sydney explored some options in the area and ruled out jobs with very loud environments and/or very large teams. The employment consultant worked with Sydney and her family to learn that she really enjoys consistency and works best with routine tasks. The Employment Consultant connected with the manager of Mellow Mushroom and learned they could use some help making pizza boxes! Sydney was able to meet the manager and job trial for a few days to see how she liked or disliked the tasks of folding pizza boxes and rolling silverware. She ended up LOVING the role and warmed up to the team quickly! Sydney has been working at Mellow Mushroom for almost 5 months and has become so much quicker at making the boxes than when she first started! She has built great relationships with the team, and one of the managers even baked Sydney special cupcakes for her birthday! She loves her job and is happy to be a part of the team at Mellow Mushroom!

Anna has received Employment Services through Janus for about 6 months and is coming up on her 5-month Anniversary of working at Wolfie’s Grill! Anna really enjoyed some volunteer opportunities that she participated in through high school, particularly working with guests at hotels or restaurants. So, when she started working with the Employment Consultant at Janus, she knew that she was interested in serving others and working with people in a dynamic setting. Anna and her Employment Consultant spent a few days exploring opportunities like a nursing home, a restaurant, or a daycare! When Anna and the Employment Consultant went to meet with the manager of Wolfie’s and learn more about any needs that could be filled, the manager asked some questions and offered Anna a job on the spot! Anna was ecstatic and so excited to begin working with the team. Anna helps to greet guests, escort them to their seats, clean tables and windows, and wipe down the tables after guests leave. Anna has done a fantastic job at Wolfie’s and the whole team loves her.
