New Owners, Familiar Faces, Same Values Nate and Lesha Simmons recently became the new name behind Queen Anne’s oldest and most beloved automotive shop, Marqueen Garage. Both born and raised in a small town just outside Bellingham, Washington, Lesha moved to Seattle in 2005 with Nate close behind in 2008. Nate took a job with the previous owner of the garage, Queen Anne local boy, Curt Arnold. Curt’s presence can still be felt in the Marqueen today and with some luck that will never change. His teachings and traditions as well as his friendship, albeit cut too short, will carry through a lifetime. Beginning May of 2016, Nate has taken on the business with his family and is devoted to upholding its core values and mission: Quality work, honesty, and the hometown atmosphere that has always been the Marqueen. Arlo, son of Nate and Lesha, is the littlest member of the Marqueen team, joining us this past November. He has been the driving force since, managing to keep everyone on their toes at all times. The rest of the staff is a diverse group representing all that Seattle has to offer. Keinan DePrizio is the newest addition hailing from Oahu, Hawaii. Spirited, eager to learn, with a whole coconut full of style. Taha Al Jamali, our silent workhorse, is a recent acquisition joining us from the city of Homs, Syria. Still a refugee with his family, Taha is continuing to build a life here in Seattle and we are proud to call him one of our own. Scott Frame is our Service Advisor and Coordinator. He sets ‘em up and the techs knock ‘em down. The most local of us all, Scott calls Snoqualmie Ridge his home with his wife. Last but not least, now with over three years time on the hill is Bronson Dingeman. His passion for tuning is ever present and can be viewed on display outside on the Ave, any given weekday in the form of one of many go-fast vehicles. Swing by for service or just to say hello and feel at home in the garage.

Neighbors In Business

Fall 2017 | www.QueenAnneNews.com

I began my career as a Farmers Agent after graduating from the UW Foster School of Business in 1989. I received my BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance. I was fortunate to work with my father, who had been a Farmers Agent since 1969, for many years until his retirement. My agency started in Woodinville relocating to Lynnwood and Wallingford before landing in my own beautiful neighborhood of Magnolia. I’ve been a resident of Magnolia since 1990.
