LloydMartin is one of the area’s most talked-about restaurants. Headed up by Chef Sam Crannell, it’s popular with locals but word-of-mouth kudos continues to spread to those seeking something different from the standard tourists restaurants. They’re now flocking to this Upper Queen Anne gem! Crannell opened LloydMartin, in October of 2011 with one mission: Simplicity. Dishes are conceptualized with the fresh ingredients that are received daily and prepared in a very understated kitchen. Sam is conscious of every detail at his restaurant, including the plates that his food is served on. Each unique dish is hand chosen while antique shopping, one of his favorite hobbies. With his culmination of vintage finds, inspirations from childhood memories, and appreciation for the freshest, local ingredients, Sam impresses his audience time and time again. LloydMartin is also very involved in local nonprofit organizations, such as the Queen Anne Helpline, and makes various donations to local schools and charities. Make no mistake about it, Chef Sam is thrilled his restaurant is such a hit with people looking for an exceptional dining experience, but he is equally proud of his contributions to helping the local community. Ready for an evening you won’t forget? Look no further than LloydMartin! The menu has two tastings available; one for pescetarian and one for meat eaters. There is also an à la carte menu and nightly specials. Enjoy! By: Debbie Girard Photo By: Kayako Mae Sareen

Defining what is important to you and your family is the first step toward achieving your financial goals. I can help you define your goals and prioritize your needs. Funding education is often an investment goal. My wife and I have invested with Edward Jones since the mid-1990s. That early involvement with Edward Jones has prepared us to pay for our children’s college dreams. I’d like to help your family get prepared as well. My wife and I have long-term roots on Queen Anne. We live in the house in which she grew up. Both of our children started at John Hay and attended local public schools. I completed my MBA from the University of Washington in 2001. Serving our community is important to us. I am an active member of our community, serving as Assistant Scout Master for BSA Troop 72 and singing with the Seattle SeaChordsmen. We assist with feeding homeless teens in the U-District and are active members of the Ballard High School Performing Arts Booster Club. Just recently, I’ve become a board member of the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce. My role is to understand what is important to you, answer your questions, and work with you to develop a plan to meet your goals. Please contact me to discuss your situation and explore your options.

Queen Anne & Magnolia News: Neighbors In Business
Meet The Toledo, Queen Anne’s newest swanky neighborhood Bar and Restaurant. Excited new business owners Eric Jensen and Brandi Krauzer have been local bartenders in the Seattle area for years. Eric who came from the Boxcar in Magnolia wanted an easy going neighborhood spot, that locals could call their own. Brandi came from a charming Irish pub in Ballard called Molly Maguires and sought a warm atmosphere with a mid-west twist. Doing the build-out themselves with help from some close friends the work took just under a year, turning a dark empty basement into a relaxed yet sophisticated pub with an intimate backyard patio. From the vintage decor and plush leather chairs to the house craft cocktails this place has it all. They have done an amazing job with this space which was much needed after the beloved Dexter & Hayes Public House closed after being open for 20 + years. They have an excellent selection of Washington beer & wine. The food is creative and comforting ranging from chowder and salads, pickles from the famous Tony Pacos in Toledo Ohio, fresh baked cookies, chicken and waffles, and a signature sloppy joe grilled cheese. Try the barrel aged Old Fashioned you won’t be disappointed.

ANTIQUES ART APPRAISALS
Come visit this cozy speakeasy gem! Definitely great vibes!
After graduating Arizona State University in 1979, I decided to move to Seattle. As soon as I arrived, I instantly fell in love with Queen Anne. The architecture, the beautiful walking routes and views, community, and the small neighborhood feeling drew me in and I have lived on Queen Anne ever since. In 1981 I opened my antique store on Queen Anne Ave. N. In 1995 I moved my store to its current location at 4th Ave. W. and W. Galer St. After 36 years on the hill, I have watched the neighborhood change and grow. I still love being part of this community. Our neighborhood is constantly evolving and we love to meet our neighbors. We are always buying and selling antiques and art and are here to help with downsizing or appraising. Stop in and say hi.

I began my career as a Farmers Agent after graduating from the UW Foster School of Business in 1989. I received my BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance. I was fortunate to work with my father, who had been a Farmers Agent since 1969, for many years until his retirement. My agency started in Woodinville relocating to Lynnwood and Wallingford before landing in my own beautiful neighborhood of Magnolia. I’ve been a resident of Magnolia since 1990.

FIT BY TAHYS HEALTHY LIVING FOR THE BUSY PROFESSIONAL
Tahys
In 2001 my parents left Peru to escape a crumbling economy, bringing my brothers and I, we had to start over from scratch. They started a business and it thrived to the point that they were able to put my brothers through college. I however, learned from watching my entrepreneurial family grow and prosper, I took a different path. Fitness has always been at the forefront of my life, one notable achievement was competing at the state championship level in swimming. This drive to compete and maintain a healthy lifestyle led me to pursue personal training, but that wasn’t enough. Though my clients were putting in the work with me, they weren’t getting the results I was expecting. I determined that diet was the culprit and wanted to make sure that if my clients were going to put in the work, I could provide them with a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle.
From this my tailored meal business was born and the results have been fantastic! By providing tailored meals that are tasty, healthy, and convenient my clients have more time to do the things they love without having to worry about what to eat and where. The gratification of making an impact on a person’s quality of life is immeasurable. My goal is to pay it forward by guiding people in the right direction by showing them the gift of living a healthy lifestyle. At the end of the day every new client of mine is not just one more client to me. They are a reflection of my work so I go above and beyond to give them the best results. With my custom workout programs and tailored meals I am confident that all of my clients will achieve the goals that drive them.

I realize how lucky I am because I have a career that I stumbled in to about 30 years ago and I still love it! I enjoy how gratifying it can be to help people navigate buying and selling homes. I never know what the day will bring; mornings might be spent counseling a first-time buyer in a multiple offer situation, while the afternoon will find me sharing a cup of tea with a senior who is contemplating selling the family home. It is the people part of the business that keeps me coming back every day. I thank you.
