SPECTRA, Aberdeen’s stunning Festival of Light, returns to Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen, from 11th – 14th February 2016. Celebrating the 2016 Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design through this year’s theme “Spark of Inspiration”, Aberdeen City Council, in conjunction with Curated Place, will deliver a 4 day light festival, bringing together leading international artists with Scottish collaborators. Growing from its home in Union Terrace Gardens to incorporate additional city centre sites including St Nicholas Kirkyard, Marischal College and Seventeen, the festival will feature major public realm and gallery installations alongside new experimental works from the creative community. Inviting audiences to engage with playful, accessible and high quality performances, spaces and works of art that marry light, sound and interactive experiences, SPECTRA 2016 will be an exciting family event bringing light to the depths of winter and celebrate Aberdeen’s creative past, present and future.

Wheelchair access to the event site is through the Denburn Viaduct north gate which can be accessed via His Majesty’s Theatre loading area behind the Bus theatre.
