GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

A. Overview

Spectrum Specialty Builders (SSB) is a specialty builder that concentrates on a narrow scope of specialty items in commercial construction.

Those items are: 1) Seismic/Expansion joint covers 2) Wall protection 3) Cubicle curtain tracks 4) Photo-luminescent marking 5) Sunshades and louvers

SSB operates as a subcontractor to a general contractor who is under contract with the building owner. SSB will always adhere to the safety guidelines and rules as administered by the general contractor. The general contractor safety rules and guidelines take precedent over SSB’s safety program.

1) SSB does not weld in its construction activities, and all welding related safety guidelines are not within this program.

2) SSB does not produce dust or airborne particulate in its construction activities, and all respiratory protection guidelines are not within this program.

B. Dissemination

A copy of this statement will be issued to the project foreman.

C. Regulations

A copy of the following documents will be maintained on each job site:

1. Chapter 155, Construction Safety Standards from the Division of Industrial Safety and Health, Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

2. Our customized copy of this Accident Prevention Program sample outline.

3. The WISHA Poster, form F416-081-000, which tells employees and employers their rights under the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act.
