LCA TEJAS FLIES HIGH
A 44-member contingent of Indian Air Force participated in the Singapore Air Show 2022, held from February 15-18, 2022. Every two years, high-level government and military delegations, as well as senior corporate executives around the world attend the Singapore Air Show to forge partnerships and seal deals in this region. As Asia’s largest Air Show, this is the place to be for leading and upcoming aerospace companies to make their mark in the international aerospace and defence market.
IAF pitched the indigenous Tejas MK-I alongside participants from across the world with flying displays on all the days of the show. The Tejas aircraft enthralled the audience with its display of low-level aerobatics displaying its superior handling characteristics and manoeuvrability. This was the first time LCA Tejas participated at the air show in Singapore and demon-
strated its superior flying manoeuvres and capability as part of efforts to position the platform for requirements in the region. IAF deployed three LCA Tejas at the show.
The participation of Indian Air Force in Air Shows around the world provides India with the opportunity to showcase the aircraft. LCA Tejas is an Indian multirole light fighter designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency in collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the IAF. This indigenous fighter is smallest and the lightest in its class of contemporary supersonic combat aircraft. With its state-of-the-art avionics and a unique double delta design, it has become one of the world’s most sought-after combat aircraft in its category. SP
