Who is Number 1………… • In Brief – NUMBER 1 Logistic Group is an Italian Logistic operator, leader in the Grocery world and specialized in the FMGC (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector – Turnover over 300 Million Euro – 6 HUB, 19 Transit Point (500.000 square meters), 2.300 Trucks – 3.360 operators (360 direct, 3000 indirect ) – Over 100.000 client served (Retail DC, Stores, Ho.Re.Ca, pharmacies, pet food shops) – 1.600.000 deliveries, 13.000 items (over 3 Mil. Tons handled)

Number 1 THE CHALLENGE – Looking at the numbers, Number 1 has 6 HUB , equivalent of 500.000 square meters of warehouse, where they receive goods from their clients production facilities (Barilla, Averna and many others) for storage and consolidation in crossdocking mode. From here the goods go to the Transit Point , peripherals depots , from where the products are delivered to Large-scale distribution points, Ho.Re.Ca points, Pharmacies, stores, retailers and Pet Food shops. 3 Million tonnes handled, over 13000 articles with 1.6 million deliveries per year are figures that speak for themselves. an optimized management of logistics processes is essential for this type of business. – In 2006 Number 1 , to innovate all the warehouse handling operation, chose the Click Reply WMS from @logistics Reply using more than 1000 RF terminal supplied from his historic partner KFI. – The need for continuous improvement has brought NUMBER 1 to search a technological solution that can carry an additional impetus to the productivity of its workers in the preparation of orders.

Number 1 THE SOLUTION Benefits of voice for picking loose and layered packages – To meet this need NUMBER 1 has contacted its partners KFI and @ logistics Reply to study different solutions incl uding the use of voice technology. – As a result of a specific analysis of the needs, KFI, acting as Vocollect Voice Total Solution Provider ®, Vocollect Voice has been identified in the best choice to complement the RF System and achieve the results desired by the client – The pilot project started in 2009 has quickly proved the possibility to achieve with the Vocollect voice a substantial increase in productivity and a simultaneous reduction in the error rate. – This is how began the real implementation of Vocollect Voice solution in all 6 HUB, completed in September 2011. – There are 250 operator using Talkman T5with SR-20 Headset for picking of loose and layered packages

Number 1 THE RESULT Benefits of voice for picking loose and layered packages – Immediate increase in productivity of up to 15 %. – This massive implementation of Vocollect Voice and the great experiences of KFI and @logistics Reply , have comforted Number 1 during the adoption of voice technology and have enabled more than 230 mobile operators equipped with terminal and microphone to be more productive, well-focused and more accurate through the use of portable hands and eyes free solutions. – The accuracy in order preparation, whose point of departure already high in NUMBER 1 , has recorded a further improvement, and through the modification of some logistic processes in combination of the voice technology has made possible a significant saving on checking and verification. All this data give Number one an increment of productivity between 30% and 40% and improve the order precision of greater than 99.995% – Is important to underline that, as all news also this new way of doing things has been initially accepted by the workers with diffidence, operators have adopted positively the dialogue with the system and have become operationally independent after the first day of use, all with significant reductions in training and time costs..
