Attleborough Jubilee Partnership Celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with us! 2nd to 5th June 2012

Saturday 2nd June Flower festival - St Mary’s Church - 10am - 4pm. Craft Fair - Connaught Hall. Macmillan Cancer Group - 10am �������- ����� 3pm.� Vintage Tractors - Connaught Hall car park - 10am – 3pm. Art Displays - Town Hall - Attleborough Artists - 10am - 5pm. Children’s story telling - Library. Coffee morning – St Mary’s Hall - Attleborough Heritage Group. ��������� raffle, Tombola, �������� quiz, ������ homemade ������������������������������ cakes and much more. Static displays of local photographs and Coronation Jubilee memorabilia will be on display - 10am - 11.30am. Over 60’s Afternoon Tea Party - St Mary’s Hall - WI. Party In the Park - evening - Carnival Committee (Queen Tribute Band, Local youth bands & Hog Roast).

Sunday 3rd June Flower Festival - St Mary’s Church - 12 noon - 4pm. Carnival (including Procession & Recreation field events) - Carnival Committee - 12noon Heritage display at the Jubilee Carnival on the Recreation Ground. Enter the Jubilee Quiz and have a chat. Fancy Wheels - Queens Square - 12.30pm to take part in the Carnival procession. Art Displays - Town Hall - Attleborough Artists - 10am - 5pm. Open Gardens - Starts 11am Attleborough Horticultural Society. Play - Connaught Hall - Attleborough Players, tickets available from the flower box - 7.30pm. ������� Evening Church Service - St Mary’s Church 6.30pm.


Monday 4th June Flower festival - St Mary’s Church 10am - 4pm, Teas served from 2pm - 4pm in Church Hall. Art Displays - Town Hall - Attleborough Artists - 10am - 5pm. Fire Station Open Day - 10am - 2pm. Car Treasure Hunt - Rotary Club. Open Gardens - Starts 11am Attleborough Horticultural Society. Play - Connaught Hall - Attleborough Players 7.30pm. Bell Ringing - St Mary’s Church. Evening picnic and Beacon lighting - Recreation Ground.

Events will include: Mr Alexander Children’s Entertainer - 4pm onwards. Old fashioned Sports Day - 5 pm. Jubilee Beacon Lighting - 10pm.

Tuesday 5th June Flower festival - St Mary’s Church 10am - 4pm, Teas served from 2pm - 4pm in Church Hall. Art Displays - Town Hall - Attleborough Artists - 10am - 5pm. Burying a time capsule - Queen’s Square - 12 noon. The Attleborough Heritage Group presents: ‘2012 Jubilee Evening’ at St Mary’s Church Hall. Doors open at 7pm. An illustrated talk is produced using images of celebrations in our town and local areas of both National and local events.Tickets £5.00 members and £6.00 non-members, including light refreshments are available from the Attleborough Heritage Centre on a Thursday or ring 01953 452750 to book your tickets. Tickets are limited so get your tickets early. Attleborough Writers’ will be running a short story competition; the Probus Club have provided a Town Crier who will be at several events during the celebrations; the Lions Club and the Conservative Association will be giving assistance at some of the events. Later this year a monument to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will be placed in Queen’s Square. The monument was designed by local High School Pupil Oliver Grantham aged 12 years (see image on back page). The information contained within this programme is correct at time of going to print.
