Up until just before then Post Office Counters LTD had failed to find an alternative location and it seemed the post office would be lost, forever. Across the road plans to relaunch the old ‘Londis News Extra’ as a vibrant modern ‘One Stop’ convenience store and ‘Subway’ Restaurant, were well in hand. On learning of the dilemma, the owner and developers worked hard to accommodate a new style post office unit into the design. Fortunately, it was possible to remodel the new store and when the fabulous new ‘One Stop’ and ‘Subway’ opened on December 1st, a modern, bright post office could be found inside. Just like the main post office, the new one offers a full range of services including driving license, passport check and send, and SIA Licence Application. The Bureau De Change, which like the post office is open 6 full days a week, holds 14 currencies which can be purchased on demand, with the remaining currencies being available to order. A full range of banking services are available to commercial and personal customers, including free cash withdrawals. Customers are also able to collect their pensions, as many have for years. For travellers the post office also sells National Express Coach tickets.

There will be carols round the Christmas Tree at 3.45pm followed by the blessing of the tree by Rev. Matthew Jackson. The lights will be switched on by Barbara Ellis and Gill Hastie in memory of both their husbands who were involved with the Lights and Carnival for over 20 years. This event would not take place without the support of Attleborough Town’s folk who attend the event each year.

Don’t forget South Norfolk’s Forget Me Not grants
rants to help people living with dementia to keep their independence and prevent or delay the need for their admission to residential care continue to be promoted by South Norfolk Council. Councillor Yvonne Bendle, Cabinet member for Wellbeing and Early Intervention said: “We have had a lot of interest in our Forget Me Not Grants and we have seen many applications from family members. This is really positive as it allows the Forget Me Not grants to be a gateway to other services that may be available. “Forget Me Not grants are funded by the County Council and help pay
for adaptations to homes making the environment more dementia friendly so if you think a grant could help you or someone you know please get in touch with our Independent Living Team.” So far the Council has completed over 100 applications for grants to cover work including changes to lighting, changes to flooring and wall colours, changes to facilities, such as contrasting toilet seats, to fixtures and fittings and for putting in safety equipment, including the replacement of old appliance with modern ones containing safety features. To be eligible for a grant the customer must have: a diagnosis of dementia, be undergoing assessment for diagnosis of
dementia or be receiving dementia related support from a recognised service provider. Applications for the grants can come from either: customers and carers, who can apply directly, from health and social care professionals, housing and support services or family and friends. Customers must be residents of the South Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group area and the home the grant is requested for must be the customer’s main residence Referrals are made by contacting the Early Help Hub and a short referral form is completed for each case. Green Dragon wins South Norfolk Council’s battle of the pubs he Green Dragon in Wymondham has been crowned South Norfolk Council’s Community Pub of the Year 2017.

The announcement was made at an award ceremony at the Burston Crown on Monday 9 October. This is the second year the pub has won the competition, which aims to support the local licensed trade.
Since Justin became Landlord 8 years ago, the pub’s raised over £11,000 for charity Star Throwers and worked closely with Appleseed Care Farm raising over £500 and donating tools and gardening equipment. Recently it helped an aspiring young athlete compete in wheelchair football by raising £700 towards her chair.
South Norfolk Council’s Deputy Leader Councillor Michael Edney said: “The Green Dragon just keeps getting better. They are passionate about putting the pub at the heart of the community and they keep coming up with new and innovative ways of getting the community involved.” The judges were impressed with the medieval pub’s hearty food, local ales, and friendly service. The pub’s also home to the local running and cycling club, runs quizzes for Nelsons Journey, hosts a ukulele club, holds comedy nights and gets involved in community events where it can. Almost 1,000 people voted in the Council’s competition, which is now in its ninth year. The Green Dragon will receive £500 to put towards a community event.
At the ceremony three other pubs also received awards coming top in their category. Terry Stork from Pub is the Hub, who helped judge the competition said: “All the winning pubs are making a big contribution to their communities, so we had a tough job picking a winner. DISS M USE U M Evacuees during the war By Basil Abbott he museum often gets inquiries about evacuees during the war; but we find that there is little recorded information about them. We tend to think that a trickle of children arrived by train and were billeted with local families. But, in August 1939, 382 children arrived at Diss railway station to be dispersed around the area. The records of Raglan School, in Bush Hill Park, north of London, describe the mass exodus to the country. “28.8.39 to 31.8.39: Full staff on evacuation registration. All gas masks were fitted and replaced if necessary. Every member of evacuation party labelled and given iron rations. Party assembled at 9am. State of party – 173 boys, 143 girls, 66 infants. Total 382. Teaching staff 36. Voluntary helper escorts 36. Roll called. Prayers said by the Vicar of St. Mark’s Church. 10.30am

Lasting Powers of Attorney are a sensible precaution
enzil Lush, the former Senior Judge of the Court of Protection, who retired in 2016 recently said, in a interview on the Radio 4 “Today” programme, that people should be more aware of the risks of Powers of Attorney and vowed never to sign one himself. Mr Lush explained that there is more scrutiny when the Court of Protection appoints a Deputy to manage the affairs of a person who lacks capacity to make decisions. A Deputy is appointed when a person has not completed an Enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney and no longer has the capacity to do so. Notice of the application has to be given to other interested parties and the Deputy

More than two million LPA registrations have been filed in the last ten years with the number of applications trebling between 2010 and 2015. Although the number of investigations into Attorneys has risen by nearly 50% in the last year, the vast majority of appointments are not problematic. LPAs were introduced by the Mental Capacity Act 2005, which was designed to protect and empower individuals who lack the mental capacity to make their own decisions. There is a code of practice that tells people how to make sure they are following the Act and Attorneys should also act in the best interests of the Donor. Moving the ball wide at every opportunity, Colchester intended to stretch the Diss defence with a brand of pace and slick handling skills.
The visitors then responded magnificently with a series of close quarter drives that sent John Laurie over the line to bring Diss back into the game. Diss immediately attacked on the stroke of half time with Todd Wishart seemingly scoring close to the Colchester posts. The try was unfortunately disallowed. Colchester then seized possession and moved the ball swiftly through their back division to score on the half time whistle. Diss entered half time 19-7 down rather than being all square at the interval.
Diss responded superbly to this threat and soon settled into a solid pattern of defence and resolution. Diss began to drive the ball deeper into the Colchester half establishing a foot hold in the game. The Diss forwards were certainly more than a match for the Colchester eight 24
Colchester attacked from the restart and yet again Diss were forced to defend very much on the back foot. An admirable level of composure and leadership from
the Diss senior players thwarted the Colchester onslaught. An interception from Kieran Pask at last allowed Diss to attack from within the Colchester half. Chris Beaird, now moved to scrum half was instrumental in driving close to the Colchester line. Support from John Laurie, Stephen Hipwell and Matt Richards eventually sent Todd Wishart over the line. Kieran Pask converted to give Diss the opportunity to not only secure a bonus point but also challenge for victory. The most defining difference between the sides was without doubt pace. Colchester were able in the last ten minutes to release their back division who scored three absolutely outstanding tries to seal a deserved home win. Diss will have taken a huge amount from the game that will benefit the side for future battles.

W YM OND HA M LI GHT U P 18th November s another November arrives, it is time for the Wymondham Light Up to keep Wymondham shining for Christmas. Wymondham Light up is a volunteer run group set up to fix the standards of the town’s previous Christmas lights. The project was started back in 2015 and is funded by donations from the community and some of its local businesses such as The Wymondham Business group, the Ex Servicemans Club, Waitrose, the Green Dragon and the Town Council. This year they will be extending the lights to include Fairland Street, Church Street and further down Town Green. This has come at a cost of £6,000, which is being half funded, on a grant from Wymondham Town Council. They have also been nominated for consideration of the Aviva Community Fund. Phil Beck looks at how we ensure that clients are comfortable with the element of risk associated with their investment portfolio. There are two basic types of savings and investments, as far as risk is concerned. Cash savings include accounts with banks, building societies and credit unions as well as certain savings bond products such as those from NS&I. With savings deposits, your returns take the form of interest on the money you have deposited. Importantly, you will not normally get back less than the capital you originally put in, even if interest

rates change. Provided your money is held in an institution that is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme’s deposit guarantee and you have no more than £85,000 saved with any single institution then, even if the institution fails, your deposit will be secure. The FSCS scheme covers most banks, building societies and credit unions but if you are unsure if your savings are covered, you can do a check on the FSCS website at https://protected.fscs.org.uk/. Investments include a range of solutions such as equity, bonds, property, gilts and derivatives. Equity investments are held in stocks and shares: you buy shares in a company at a certain price, for example, and investment gains occur when they are subsequently sold at a higher price.
Holding shares can also bring the investor dividend income, depending on the performance of the company involved. The thing to remember is that investments generally carry an element of risk and you could potentially get back less than you put in or – in the very worst scenario – lose it altogether. However, different types of investment and holdings in different companies and funds carry different levels of risk. N ORW ICH THEATR E ROYA L How The Other Half Loves – Nov 27-Dec 2 rom London’s West End to the beautiful rural Suffolk settings of TV favourite Lovejoy, Caroline Langrishe has taken on a host of roles and appeared in a wide range of productions. Now she is set to return to East Anglia in a comedy classic from one of Britain’s best-loved playwrights and opposite an all-star cast, as she tells John Bultitude. Flashback to the Sixties when your social standing often depended on your ability to entertain the right people the right way at a dinner party whether you wanted to or not. Add in your guests complicated lovelives, lashings of humour around the do’s and don’ts of etiquette and socialising 32
generally, and you have a comedy of manners from that master of observing us Brits at work and play, Alan Ayckbourn, which is coming to Norwich Theatre Royal. How The Other Half Loves is one of his earliest plays and follows three couples who find their social lives and love lives inextricably intertwined. For Caroline Langrishe, it is a challenging but fun role playing Fiona Foster who has been getting rather too friendly with Bob Philips, played by Leon Ockenden aka Coronation Street hunk Will Chatterton. The pair are struggling to keep their canoodlings from their spouses played by The Royal’s Robert Daws and Charlie Brooks, best known for her role as nasty Janine Butcher in EastEnders.
But add in the complication that each couple are inviting a third couple to dinner, played by Game On’s Matt Cottle and the comedy actress Sara Crowe who you may remember from the Philadelphia ads, and the stage is set for an evening of laughter. Caroline said: “It is a quite extraordinary play as both households are on stage at the same time. In fact, at one point, you see two dinner parties happening on stage at the same time. Sara and Matt’s characters come to both so they actually swivel from one party to the other on stage at the same time too. The stage directions we have to follow are a play in themselves. “Having said that, it is terribly funny. Ayckbourn has a knack for writing Sales@DispatchMagazine.co.uk
domestic chat that I don’t think any other playwright encapsulates so well. Just reading it is like being in my house to a degree as he captures the absolute trivia of domesticity.” It also works well as a period piece of comedy, as Caroline explains. “As it is set in the Sixties, it uses the words of that era. Needless to say I am playing the posh one so no surprises there but I have lines like everything is jolly good or super so it is very quaint in that way.” And she is delighted to be part of such a great cast. “We have got really classy actors. Funnily enough Robert Daws and I played husband and wife in an episode of Midsummer Murders which we made at the end of last year. laughed Caroline. It is not just the on-stage team that helped persuade Caroline to be involved as it is directed by Alan Strachan, who worked with Ayckbourn for many years and was also artistic director of the Greenwich Theatre in London for over a decade working with the likes of Sir Michael Gambon, Sir Alec Guinness and Dame Penelope Keith. Caroline said: “Very often, when plays go on tour, you often don’t get to work with the director who worked on it in the West End but Alan did and this is one of his firm favourites so he has a vested interest in it.” The production runs from November 27 to December 2 and marks the second time Caroline has appeared in a comedy in East Anglia this year, as she starred in the Feydeau farce Bang Bang earlier this year at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester, which was
adapted by John Cleese. “It went down an absolute storm in Colchester. They completely loved it. Unfortunately John was having a hip operation in LA while we were rehearsing but we had some video link communication. “Having said that, I am still in the farce frame of mind. I am perfectly used to quick changes, tearing around back stage and coming in through different doors. With farce it is all about timing. There are no thoughts of glasses of white wine and lying around in your dressing room reading the Evening Standard until the evening is over. You need to be on high alert.” She is also no stranger to East Anglia and is probably most associated with her role as the auctioneer Charlotte Cavendish in www.DispatchMagazine.co.uk 33
the much-loved and much-missed BBC comedy-drama Lovejoy which was filmed in and around East Anglia. Charlotte recalled: “The joy of Lovejoy was that it filmed from April to September. We were based in Long Melford and it was just like joining a brilliant party that went on all summer. It was great and really, really good fun. It was so utterly beautiful.” Flashback even further and she also starred in a 1981 episode of arguably Anglia TV’s best-known home-produced drama Tales Of The Unexpected entitled Shatterproof where a husband discovers his young wife has commissioned an assassin to kill him. Caroline laughed: “That was an incredibly long time ago. Eli Wallach, the American actor, played my husband in it. I just couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t really been further north than Kent at that time. I have got to know Norfolk a lot better since as I have some great friends up

there but there does need to be another television series based there, sharpish.” When it comes to visiting Norfolk, Burnham Market and its celebrated Hoste Arms will be a must to visit for her to relax and take a break from the rigours of touring. “Touring is tough. I haven’t actually toured for 5 years although I think it takes that long recover. We are going to some wonderful places likes Cheltenham and Bath, and Norwich is always a treat. Hopefully the week there will be a bit of a holiday.” And with the frenetic pace of a farce to bring to the stage, it sounds like Caroline will need a slower pace of life for the Norwich week of the show.

N ORW ICH THEATR E ROYA L Sleeping Beauty – Dec 13th - Jan14th orfolk-based comedy actor Ben Langley returns to Norwich Theatre Royal for the new Christmas season to resume his successful festive partnership on stage with much-loved panto dame Richard Gauntlett.
As he tells Judy Foster, he is delighted at the prospect of another Christmas on home turf and feels he has built a real connection with Norwich audiences who caught on to his catchphrase of ‘Greta, Greta, Greta!’
The pair struck comedy gold four years ago when they teamed up in Ben’s first Norwich panto Peter Pan in 201415. Snow White followed in 2015-16, in which Ben’s character Muddles captivated children with his search to find his pet goat, Greta.
“The Theatre Royal has absolutely become a bit of a home for me at Christmas,” Ben said. “It became a home on the second year because everyone is so welcoming on every level - in the restaurant, the crew are great, front-of-house are brilliant, everybody. You walk around the building and everybody knows you and you try your best to know them.
Now, after last year’s most successful Norwich panto ever, Jack and the Beanstalk, Ben is back to tread the boards again in Sleeping Beauty from December 13 through to January 14.
“The audience is now familiar as well, especially from my third year. Snow White was great going into Jack and The Beanstalk because I’d had some great scenes with the gag about Greta the goat. Then bringing it

back last year in Jack, just the mention of Greta made me realise ‘oh yes, they do know me and they do remember things’. I hadn’t really had that connection before, so it was a real sign of the audience knowing me.” He’s also looking forward to working with Richard Gauntlett again “who I love and adore”. The two had known each other for a number of years before pairing up in panto and the mother-son relationship on-stage translates into one of easy banter and camaraderie off-stage. Richard is once again writing and directing the panto and has lined up some challenges for Ben: “I can’t say too much, but it is going to be a little bit wet, something on the height front, my vertigo will be challenged. And I don’t like snakes much, Sales@DispatchMagazine.co.uk
so I am hoping there won’t be any snakes in the panto!” So, what has he been up to since the curtain came down on Jack and The Beanstalk in January? “I have been very busy – a very busy daddy to Elwood and Loxley. I have been doing my own variety show up and down the country and abroad – that’s the Ben Langley Show, lots of juggling and blowing rubber gloves up on my head. I’ve been to all the holiday parks in Devon and Cornwall, a few around Norfolk, a couple up north, a couple of Thomson Holiday Villages, Ibiza and Cyprus, so that has been very nice and very busy.” He has also had writing commitments and two big television jobs. “I did a lovely episode in The Detectorists which is written by and stars Mackenzie Crook. I did Season One and then he emailed me and asked if I would be in Season Three, so I did a day’s filming in a scene he had written – and that is coming out in October-November. I play a solar guy - a small but significant role – in a very funny scene and I got to work with Mackenzie and the actor Toby Jones.” Ben is also involved as a presenter and performer with the CBeebies series Treasure Champs. “It’s a CBeebies preschool programme about values. We were given 30 episodes straight away by the commissioner and I am in five – so that is coming out January 1st. So that’s all very exciting.” Having two young boys keeps him busy too, especially as his wife, Sarah, is also in the business and this year is once again choregraphing for the Sheffield Lyceum panto, as well as directing Aladdin at Diss Corn Hall.

The boys get very excited about panto season. “They love all that and they are lucky boys because they get to come backstage. Everyone knows them and they get to go on the stage and have a look. Everything about the building is like Aladdin’s Cave to them. They always see the show about three or four times every year. I’m particularly excited this year because Dickleburgh Primary are coming and that is where Loxley and Elwood are, so that’s a big thing for me. I am going to be ever so nervous.”

His eldest son is rapidly becoming a mini expert in the art of performance and is happy to offer up his own critique. “Elwood will say to me ‘you know when you do the knife chop, I don’t know why you show them how it is done after’. He says ‘you shouldn’t do that Daddy. Just throw it away, keep them thinking Daddy’. Then the other day he said I say something too much in my show – something like ‘that’s nice’.”

No doubt ‘that’s nice’ will be heard quite a few times from Ben’s character in this year’s panto. Muddles Midges the under-gardener, is son to Richard’s Mrs Midges, the housekeeper in a grand turn-of-the-century country house, and Ben does have a little gardening experience to fall back on. “I did grass cutting for my father-in-law because he used to run South Norfolk Gardening Agency, so I used to do Bunwell Church and lots of other places. I’ve got myself a Hayter mower. Although I think in the show it might be called a Gre-ay-ter! I think that might work!” Joining Ben on stage for Sleeping Beauty will be Derek Griffiths, of Play School and more recently Coronation Street fame (Chortwood the butler), EastEnders’ ‘Jean Slater’ actress Gillian Wright (Dowager Aunt Vipera), Elizabeth Carter (as Sleeping Beauty/ Patience Midges), Glenn Adamson (the Hon. Timothy Norbridge), Stephen Godward (Lord Teddy Norbridge) and Richard Gauntlett (Mrs Midges).
“Loxley has just started reception so that’s all new and exciting and daunting for him all at the same time. Elwood has just gone up to Class 2 and is doing well. So it’s very busy in our house. Sarah will be back up in Sheffield doing the choreography for the Sheffield Lyceum show, and she is also very happy to be directing the pantomime in Diss – so I get her very far away and then very close. N ORW ICH A S S EMB LY H OU SE A new lunchtime concert series for Norwich is on the cards for the New Year - Tony Cooper reports. n initiative of the Assembly House Trust, a series of monthly lunchtime concerts (all starting at one o’clock) are set for the New Year and will take place in the splendid and opulent surroundings of the lovely and inviting Music Room of the Assembly House, a fine and wellkept building which is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture and situated right at the heart of the Fine City of Norwich opposite The Forum and next door to the Theatre Royal. Incidentally, Richard Wagner’s father-inlaw, the pianist Franz Liszt, performed here in September 1840 in the very same room where these lunchtime concerts are being held as part of his Grand Tour of England, Ireland and Scotland. Such is the illustrious history of 40
the Assembly House. However, there’ll be no concert activity during the month of May thereby avoiding any clash with the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and also the holiday month of August. But all the same, ten concerts added to the city’s music calendar (as well as the international concert series recently inaugurated at the Theatre Royal) is to be more than welcomed. The recitals - curated by Roger Rowe who has just retired as programme director of the Norfolk & Norwich Music Club after enjoying an immensely-successful 20-year tenure - will be largely given by prize-winning musicians at the start of their careers. However, the opening concert on Thursday 11th January is different as it features a piano recital by one of this country’s most talented
and respected musicians, Joanna MacGregor. Nowadays, a globe-trotting musician, Ms MacGregor - who’s Head of Piano at the Royal Academy of Music - will be returning to her roots inasmuch as at the beginning of her career she was one of the first artists to be selected for the Young Concert Artists’ Trust and gave one of her very first recitals in the Assembly House’s Music Room. As so often is the case, history repeats itself. Ms MacGregor’s programme is varied, interesting and challenging opening with Alberto Ginastera’s Three Argentine Dances (Danzas argentinas) constituting, perhaps, the most popular work in the piano literature of Argentina. old composer’s early nationalistic period. However, unlike many of his colleagues, Ginastera used folkloristic rhythms and melodic cells in a dissonant and virtuosic context akin to Bartók’s compositional world with its imaginary folklore. The first dance - Danza del viejo boyero (Dance of the Old Oxen-Keeper) - is based on the rhythm of the malambo, a gaucho dance for a solo male that allows him to show off his tap-dancing skills. The second dance - Danza de la moza donosa (Dance of the Graceful Maiden) - begins in a relaxing mood then turns into a rousing and intense piece before returning to its unhurried and relaxing state. while making use of recognisable melodic tunes from Argentine folk music. Concluding the programme is Chopin’s Mazurkas, Op 6, which contains four of the first mazurkas that the composer published and Beethoven’s Sonata in F minor commonly known as the ‘Appassionata’ one of his greatest and most technically-challenging piano sonatas. It was considered by Beethoven to be his most tempestuous piano sonata until he wrote his 29th piano sonata, known as the ‘Hammerklavier’, in 1803. The series continues on Thursday 15th February with the Alauda String Quartet, founded at the Royal Academy of Music, comprising Cristina Prats-Costa (1st violin), Milan Berginc (2nd violin), Mari Adachi (viola) and Elena Cappelletti (cello). An ensemble in the ascendancy, the quartet had the
privilege of being selected to join the prestigious Park Lane Artists’ Group and made their South Bank début in 2015. The programme for their Norwich début comprises Mendelssohn’s Quartet, No 3, Op 44 and Beethoven’s Quartet, No 3, Op 59 - the ‘Razumovsky’. Another young and enterprising string quartet follows on Thursday 22nd March with the Albion String Quartet - Tamsin Waley-Cohen (1st violin), Emma Parker (2nd violin), Rosalind Ventris (viola) and Nathaniel Boyd (cello). They have established themselves with a residency at King’s Place, London and recently made their début at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. comprising Dvořák’s lyrical and entertaining ‘American’ Quartet and Schubert’s sublime and totally-absorbing ‘Rosamunde’ Quartet. A guitar duo is always a refreshing ensemble to hear and none comes better than the Hungarian (Budapest born) guitar duo, The Katona Twins, comprising Péter and Zoltán Katona Thursday 19th April. They have performed at prestigious venues and at major music festivals round the world and, indeed, made their Carnegie Hall début in 1998. They’ve also played London’s Royal Festival Hall and the Wigmore Hall and appeared at the Cheltenham International Music Festival in 2004 in which the English-born composer and broadcaster, Michael Berkeley, presenter of BBC Radio 3’s ‘Private Passions’, composed for them a double concerto which they premièred with the London Sinfonietta. Their performances and recordings have been critically received by the world’s music press and one critic described them as ‘the classical world’s best-known guitar duo’. Their repertoire is extensive ranging from classical music to Tango and they have adapted and arranged classical works for guitar duo and released five albums to date which include works by Handel, Scarlatti, Albéniz and Piazzolla. The Tyburn Trio - Milly Forrest (soprano), Henry Kennedy (clarinet) and Andrei Illushkin (piano) - will include in their programme on Thursday 21st June a rendering of Schubert’s well-loved work written for soprano, clarinet and piano, The Shepherd on the Rock, composed in 1828 during the final months of his short life. Incidentally, Ms Forest (who hails from Chiswick in west London) achieved instant fame recently when stepping in for Welsh-born soprano, Ruby Hughes, at a Wigmore Hall recital. The 23-yearold, a graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, who works as a cloakroom attendant at the Wigmore to offset the costs of her studies, performed a solo

version of Purcell’s ‘If Music be the Food of Love’ to public and critical acclaim. The Zorá String Quartet - Dechopol Kowintaweewat (1st violin), Hsuan-Hao Hsu (2nd violin), Pablo Muñoz Salido (viola), Zizai Ning (cello) - were one of six artists and ensembles to be named a First Prize Winner of the 2015 Young Concert Artists’ International Auditions in New York. And that’s some accolade. In a popular programme (Thursday 19th July) they’ll be performing Haydn’s Quartet in F minor, No 5, Op 20 and Mendelssohn’s Quartet No 2, Op 13. And within a few days of their Norwich concert they’ll be making their Wigmore Hall début. The UK-based Piatti String Quartet - Nathaniel Anderson-Frank (1st violin), Michael Trainor (2nd violin), Tetsuumi Nagata (viola), Jessie Ann Richardson (cello) - were the prize-winners of the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition. They’ve lined up what promises a marvellous concert on Thursday 13th September featuring Bridge’s Three Idylls for String Quartet written in 1906 and Beethoven’s Quartet No 2, Op 59. And on Thursday 5th October the pianist Tom Poster - who has been described as ‘a marvel who can play anything in any style’ (The Herald), a ‘young lion’ (The Guardian) and as possessing ‘great authority and astounding virtuosity’ (L’Est Républicain) - will treat the audience to a very interesting programme made up by Grieg’s Lyric Pieces, Janáček’s ‘Intimate Sketches’ and Schubert’s Sonata in B flat major, D.960, his last sonata and by common consent his greatest achievement in the form and one of the finest contributions to the long series of classical sonatas. It has a feeling of tranquillity and ease - the ease of a master who has all the technical facility at his fingertips with which to express his ideas and emotions. And the second piano trio engaged for the series, The Prodanova Trio - Mihai Ritivoiu (piano), Samuel Staples (viola) and Yoanna Prodanova (cello) - will include in their programme on Thursday 22nd November a performance of Fauré’s Trio, Op 120, his last composition which is a masterpiece of graceful lyricism and an unmistakable personal language. A masterful and sensitive composer, Fauré was a central figure in 19th- and 20th-century
French music and his life spanned an astonishing timeline of musical history from 1865 when he left college to his death in November 1924. The season ends on a high note (Thursday 13th December) with a piano recital by Ben Comeau who in 2014 graduated from Cambridge University (Girton College) with a Starred First in Music. His wide-ranging programme will include works by J S Bach and Chopin. As a composer Mr Comeau has written and performed two piano concerti and has performed in venues ranging from Birmingham Symphony Hall to St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. He has written, too, for the Britten Sinfonia who premièred his piece, ‘Unseen Colours’, written for a full string orchestra, at the Wigmore Hall. He has also written works for the choirs of St John’s College Cambridge and Truro Cathedral as well as for the King’s Lynn Festival Chorus. As a pianist, he has performed concerti by Mozart and Gershwin as well as Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. Highlights of his solo repertoire include much of J S Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier and Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit as well as numerous contemporary works by such leading composers as Thomas Adès, Robin Holloway, György Ligeti and Kaija Saariaho. The hours are long, at least 70 hours each week, which means many late nights, early starts and weekends in the office. In addition to my publishing company and being worked into the ‘nooks & grannies’ of my already busy day, I have also been building an additional business in the little know World of Network Marketing, where I spend just a few hours a week investing in my future. In the traditional World of work the ‘Boss’ may ask you to work the occasional overtime, which nine times

out of ten we agree to do, and they pay you the average hourly rate of around £12.00 per hour, whereas in the World of Network Marketing you work that hour now and get paid for it but then the following month you get paid again, and again, and again and again for that one hours work you did months or even years ago.
In the fullness of time time-freedom will click in as the residual income reaches a point where the average UK salary is being earned but you are still just investing your 5 hours each week.
This is called Residual Income and I really like this concept!

It may not be for you, but at least you will have seen what I am doing and you can make that decision, rather than me denying you the opportunity. I just need 10 minutes to show you, plus the time to answer any questions you may have.
In addition to the money I receive, which incidentally is around £200.00 per hour currently and rising to £300.00 per hour, I was also recently presented with the Mini, shown below, because I invested approximately 5 hours a week for the past few years and reached a criteria which I could choose how quickly or slowly I achieved.
