Wymondham Carnival 2014 Resurrected Carnival set to wow the crowds this year Wymondham Carnival Update With the semi -finals of Wymondham’s Got Talent about to begin at the Wymondham High Academy, it’s a timely reminder that the Carnival on July 26th is just around the corner. The standard of performance the judges have witnessed at the
auditions and quarter finals of the talent show has been much better than any of the Carnival Committee could have predicted. The satisfaction of seeing the development of some previously unheard of acts from audition through to live performances has made us feel the idea of engaging the towns people in the Carnival by encouraging home grown talent
was the right one. The remaining ten or twelve acts after the semi-final will provide the main attraction on the Carnival day itself, by performing to the general public as part of the finale on stage in the Market Place from late afternoon onwards. The theme of Wymondham-on-Sea, brings a slightly off the wall idea to Middleton St, Market St and of course the Market Place itself. We’re trying to recreate a seaside pier, with stalls, attractions and sideshows leading to the end of pier show which will see the presentation of the cheque for £500 to the winner of Wymondham’s Got Talent, and also the presentation to the town of our winning Carnival Queen. There will be a walking procession to kick things off at approximately 2pm from Back Lane, through Town Green and through the streets
leading up to the Market Place, and we hope that even more local groups, clubs, associations and companies will make contact and join in the procession to ensure a colourful and musical spectacle for all the family to enjoy. Market St will see the start of the stalls and so far we have a hog roast, a barbecue, a pizza oven, candy floss and ice cream, a Pimms tent and Coffee tent, charity stalls, general traders and even a Punch and Judy and fairground attractions for the little ones. We’re hoping as more people come on board, these stalls will stretch past the Priory Gardens where there will be a selection of picture boards produced by the Wymondham High Academy for local company sponsors. These boards once a common sight on the coast, mimic the seaside postcards with a cut out for the

many years, and are proud to have been involved in it’s planning. We hope everyone has a day to remember and enjoys the show.
So it goes without saying that if JP’s did a cooked breakfast then it would be wholesome and good value.
Oh and don’t forget to come along to our BBQ near the market cross after all no carnival is complete without a burger.
Well here’s some good news – not only do JP’s now serve breakfast but there are 3 to choose from including a Vegetarian option for just £4.50, the popular all day breakfast for £4.95 and the star of the show, the Big Breakfast at £6.95. In fact due to the popularity of our breakfast menu we have had to increase the number of tables we have available, but don’t worry we still have room for our famous sofa. We are very excited about Wymondham’s first carnival for

faces of the young and not so young to pose for pictures, and we hope to see the very best on every Facebook and Twitter page in East Anglia! This area will also see the Donkey rides, giving some of our little ones the chance to take a step back in time with a seaside favourite of a now bygone age with
a ride to the war memorial and back on a donkey saved by the Scratby Donkey Sanctuary. The day will be drawn to a conclusion with a Grand Fireworks display at 10pm and we hope that local people will come out and support the Wymondham Business Group and all those taking part and make this the first of many
successful Carnivals for years to come.

Do You Think You Paid Too Much Tax Last year? Let Kerry check to see if you are entitled to a rebate Or do you think that “it must be right because no one told me any different”? If you have more than two different types of income – whatever they may be – it really is a good idea to check that you have paid the right amount of tax. You can do this yourself or of course come and see someone like us here at KBA. If you have savings accounts that generate interest (not ISA’s) then you might be paying tax on this interest. But what if you don’t need to? This is another of the ways that you can end up paying too much tax. Surely this income is better in your pocket? So if you think you might have paid too much tax, or maybe could ask to receive your interest on savings accounts gross, then why not come and talk to us here at KBA. We still offer a free initial consultation of up to an hour so the good news is that it’s a win win situation! (Please note we cannot give financial advice but know some lovely people that can!)
We can also help you check your national insurance contributions. Again if you have more than one income on which you pay national insurance contributions, you could be over paying.Unlike the tax system there is no straight forward return for overpaid NIC – but if you have overpaid we here at KBA can help you sort this out. Why not call us – 01953 457173. We are now heading into July and the long summer holidays. Most of us are thinking about how many weeks until we can get to that long awaited break from reality. Unfortunately 31 July is also the final day for confirming your tax credits to HMRC. We all know that calling the tax credits office can be a long and frustrating process, but did you know that with authority, we here at KBA can ring the tax credits office for you and confirm your annual information or earnings. If you are employed with just one job and the hours never change, then hopefully
your tax credits are nice and straight forward, but if you are one of the many self employed people out there or have varying details, tax credits can become a big nightmare. If you are not yet aware of your profit from your business then you need to estimate your profit before 31 July 2014. As long as you call back with the actual figure before 31 January 2015 all will be well, so don’t hang around – and definitely don’t miss that deadline! We are happy to call the tax credits office to confirm your profit as part of your accounts and tax preparation process – so it really can be made much simpler. The 31st July is also a red letter day as if you are a self assessment tax payer; you need to make sure that you have paid all second payments on account by 31 July 2014. If you are a client here at KBA, don’t panic we will be writing to you in the next couple of weeks to remind you what you need to pay. If you are unsure or need help with your
tax affairs, why not give us a call or email: kerry@kerrybutcher.co.uk. The penalty and interest charged by HMRC is much higher now and they definitely mean business so make sure you don’t get caught out. Finally it’s time for a big thank you. Thank you to all those of you who choose to come and see us here at KBA. I started my business because (sad though it is) I love what I do, I love figures and I love meeting new people and most of all I love to be able to save my clients money or even find a tax refund. I love every day that I am working and without my lovely clients – I wouldn’t be able to do this. So thank you to all of you and to my lovely colleagues at KBA. I hope we are a friendly bunch, so if you have anything you think that we could help you with, please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrate Prince George’s 1st birthday with EACH East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is inviting the people of East Anglia to join them in celebrating the first birthday of HRH Prince George of Cambridge by holding a birthday party in his honour on Tuesday 22nd July. The charity, which has HRH The Duchess of Cambridge as its Royal
Patron, is encouraging as many schools, groups, companies and individuals as possible to hold a Royal birthday party on or around Tuesday 22nd July. Party organisers will be encouraged to invite friends and colleagues to attend parties and make a donation to EACH.
Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, became Royal Patron of EACH in January 2012 and has provided the charity with many great benefits including raising awareness and understanding of services, boosting the media profile and inspiring people to raise funds. Camilla Haycock, EACH Fundraising Development Manager, said: “We’re hoping as many people as possible across East Anglia will hold a birthday party on this special day, or as near to the day as they can, to help us celebrate the first birthday of the Prince. It’s a great excuse to have a bit of fun with party games and cake while raising funds for an important local charity.
Prince George receives a gift!

Beds fit for a Queen At Sound Sleep we are forever evolving and working to ensure that our customers have the latest bed technology to chose from Years ago, we were the first bed company to be offering high quality memory foam mattresses. Then we promoted the benefits of sleeping on natural products like latex. Just last year, Sound Sleep were the first to introduce Geltex; the newest mattress technology since memory foam. But July 2014 sees the introduction of Staples Beds to our range, with the iconic Slumberland Gold Seal and Bronze Seal in their new specifications joining them. Staples Beds are hand made in Cambridgeshire. The pocket springs used are of the highest quality, the fillings are created from the finest quality natural materials; some of which are hand teased to give these mattresses a truly sumptuous feel. The tickings used to finish the mattresses are the finest luxury Belgian damasks. But the ultimate hand made element is the hand side stitching; the border of the mattresses are stitched by hand into the pocket springs to give added side support and ultimate luxury. Staples Beds were awarded a Royal Warrant in 1932 by King George V and this has been graciously renewed by each successive monarch since; including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our new Staples and Slumberland range are arriving with us early July and to promote these fantastic brand new models, we are offering an extra 10% off sale prices on those models plus some of
our existing models from other manufacturers. If you need comfort and luxury in your life, come down to Sound Sleep and have a chat with one of our friendly Mattress Specialists. All of our mattresses and divans carry the National Bed Federation’s ‘NBF Approved’ large tick logo, which means the manufacturer who made that bed has been independently audited to ensure they follow all the required procedures to produce safe, clean and hygienic mattresses. In short, that they are what they say they are. Currently there is an increasing mistrust among consumers about the products they are buying – particularly those where the contents are unseen and taken on trust, like beds and mattresses. The NBF is the UK trade association for British bed manufacturers, and to meet its new Code of Practice, member companies have had to go through rigorous and independent audits. “We wanted to ensure that our mark of approval really meant something,” said Jessica Alexander, executive director of the NBF. Particularly important to anyone buying a new bed is its safety and the reassurance that the mattress meets strict British flammability regulations. If it doesn’t - and recent publicity on BBC’s ‘Fake Britain’ programme which aired in January 2014, and again in May 2014, has highlighted the growing number of illegal mattresses being
sold with counterfeit fire labels – then it could prove fatal if ignited. Silentnight Beds have released a video of flammability tests on mattresses undertaken in their laboratory, the results are shocking.
Spokesperson for the Sleep Council Lisa Artis said, “This is great news for consumers and we would urge anyone buying a bed to look out for the NBF’s new mark of approval – it’s designed to keep people sleeping safe as well as sound.”
A non-compliant mattress, which was purchased online, therefore on sale to the public, was on fire within two minutes and releasing significant amounts of toxic fumes within three minutes, by this time the fully compliant mattress had fully extinguished itself.
NBF’s Jessica Alexander stated “For reputable manufacturers, the NBF Approved logo is merely confirmation that they are – and always have been - following all the right procedures.
Within six minutes, the room is fully consumed with smoke and fire; the average response time for fire fighters in the UK is nine minutes. See it for yourself on our TV in store or on our YouTube page, search for Sound Sleep Beds.
Unfortunately there are less scrupulous traders out there who are now selling products that can’t be trusted – and with a mattress it’s hard to know what you are buying. The new NBF Approved logo means people can buy a mattress in the certain knowledge that it is safe, clean and honest.”
Less dramatic but still concerning are health and hygiene issues. We all want to think the nice new bed we are getting in to is clean and hygienic – and the NBF Approved logo means consumers can be sure that the bed they are buying comes from a manufacturer with all the right procedures in place to be sure it is just that. Lastly, we want to know that the mattress we are buying contains exactly what it says it does. Not to do so contravenes the Trades Descriptions Act – and again, the big tick logo means you can be assured the product you are buying is as described. It’s an initiative that The Sleep Council both supports and endorses.
Sound Sleep backs the National Bed Federation’s new code of practice and are committed to supplying clean and safe products, so you can have a sound sleep knowing that your bed is fully compliant to UK laws and regulations. Feel free to visit us in store for more information. When you buy your next bed, make sure you look for the big tick! Sleep Safe. Sleep Sound. Sound Sleep. Suffolk & Norfolk Youth Action Attleborough’s Got Talent, 2014 Suffolk and Norfolk Youth Action (SNYA) assisted Attleborough Players at the finals of Attleborough’s Got Talent, 2014 with the interviews being played out on SNYA Radio the following Saturday. You could tell that this year’s performances were of a very high standard because the judges, Vera Dale, Tony Perkins and Hugh Lynch spent a great deal of time deliberating before eventually choosing ‘Harry Hilarious’ as the winner and ‘Long Time Dead’ as this year’s runners up. Attleborough’s performing community proved that once again, that we really do have talent and it was most pleasing to see that this was an intergenerational evening with acts ranging from children to mature folk. The audience was treated to the delights of a novelty act playing the cup, fantastic magicians, sensational singers, as well as wonderful dancers. The winner of Attleborough’s Got Talent 2014, eleven year old Harry, told me that he entered the competition to challenge himself and really, really, didn’t expect to win. Harry is no stranger to fame as you may recognise him from the CBBC TV show ‘Turbo Boost’. He has filmed at the Harry Potter Studios and performed at Covent Garden and, as if that wasn’t enough, Harry has performed at a kids festival in front of 800 people. When asked what the future holds, the modest young man simply said, ‘I have no idea but I am delighted to receive the £100 prize money to spend on even more magic tricks.’ This year’s runners up ‘Long Time Dead,’ have only been performing together as a three man acoustic guitar singing combo for the last couple of years. They told me that they came together to raise money to combat Multiple Sclerosis. They enjoy supporting the community and performing the music of Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Christy Moore amongst others. At the auditions, the band told me that they didn’t expect to win as this was the first talent competition that they have ever entered.
July 2014
Runners up of Attleborough’s Got Talent, 2014: Barry Chamberlin -singer and guitarist Soloist Adam Hurn who covered ‘Cult of Personality’ by Living Colour Magicians, Thomas and Lydia Vocalist - Erin Anderson who performed ‘Vienna’ by Billy Joel Victoria and Louise- performed a mash-up of songs, accompanied by a cup Grace Anderson who performed a dance. Magician -Magical Katherine Singer and acoustic guitar player Alex Good who covered Imagine Dragons Radio Active Charlie who performed a dance Joseph Rosales singer and ukulele player covered ‘Santeria’ by Sublime Owen (last year’s winner) performed a dance Singer and ukulele player – Ellis Rosales performed ‘Let It Go’ from the Walt Disney film ‘Frozen’. Jack, Lilly and Danielle performed’ I want you back’ by Michael Jackson. The half term school holidays continued to be very active for members of Suffolk and Norfolk Youth Action Radio, with five members of the team broadcasting live from the Family Fun Day at the White Lodge public house in Attleborough. The annual event raises much needed funds for charities and this year we supported Parkinson’s UK. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects one person in every 500. That’s about 127,000 people in the UK. Someone forgot to tell the weather that it was a bank holiday as the sun shone without a cloud in the sky. The event was officially opened with Attleborough players Robert Thomas and Sam Woodrow performing their Blues Brothers routine. The event was truly fantastic with hundreds of visitors enjoying live music from guitarist Phil Robinson followed
by the Dust Bowl Blues Band. The event included art and craft, bouncy castles, traditional fete games, cakes, and of course, the traditional BBQ. The highlight of the event was the auction experience; this saw members of the public bidding ferociously against each other to secure signed England and Norwich City Football shirts, golf and fishing experiences, swimming passes, a Harley Davison bike ride, as well as tickets for an England Football match. None was so funny though as the battle to secure Philip Dingle to personally valet your car. The Family Fun Day was a fantastic success with the event raising £4,550 for Parkinson’s UK. This month SNYA gratefully received two -CDJ-900’s, a mixing desk, and amplifier donated by Richard Coates from Fullpotential. CDJ’s are digital turntables used to play CDs; they can accurately emulate a vinyl turntable, including the ability to scratch and are used by disc jockeys. Thanks Richard, they are being used daily and we are having fantastic fun! Fullpotential is a team of some of the UK’s leading coaches and industry experts that have the knowledge and experience together with a proven track record to offer you the best guidance, motivation and inspiration. They are passionate about running and triathlon and want to help others to believe, run or try and achieve their full potential. Also this month, thank you to anon of Norfolk for the donation of an electric Bass Guitar and Amp. This has made a fantastic addition to our stock of studio instruments. If you are de-cluttering, moving house or your kids have left home then please think of us before throwing away any un-wanted musical instruments. We will always use them and treat them with the care that they deserve. (We would particularly welcome a donation of a drum kit). As a 360° Beacon for the Media Trust, eight members of SNYA experienced a two day video training course provided by Roy Heath from the production team
of BBC’s Country File. Roy showed the group of eight young people how to plan outdoor filming, position cameras, interview techniques and audio recording. After first practicing in the studio, the team was ready to take to the streets of Attleborough and interview our residents. They asked ‘should the UK stay in or leave Europe’. Thank you to all the participants who stopped to support the young people of Attleborough. Back at the studio the footage was edited to make our first ‘SNYA Snapshot’ video; hopefully the first of many. (Stop and have your say next time you see us in Attleborough) The Media Trust has financially supported SNYA throughout 2013/14 with our members visiting BBC Radio Leicester, meeting editors and journalists from ‘Inside and Out’ and ‘Down but not Out’ publications, as well as providing us with £200 of editing equipment. Finally, this month, Matthew Dowse and Jamie Debenham, young presenters on SNYA Radio, are representing Suffolk and Norfolk Youth Action at the new European Youth Alcohol Awareness Forum in Newcastle. More on the outcome of the SNYA Ambassadors ‘all expenses paid trip’ next month! A Jewel In The Centre Of Norwich The Maddermarket Theatre ‘The first building in England since the Commonwealth definitely constructed with an Apron and a Gallery so that Shakespeare can be given upon the stage for which he wrote’ – Nugent Monck, 26th September 1921 The words spoken by the founder of The Norwich Players before their inaugural performance of As You Like It at the iconic Maddermarket Theatre in the heart of Norwich. Monck left a successful theatrical career in London and set up home in Norwich to return to more simplistic production values. Using minimal scenery, period costume and full, uncut texts Monck and his players performed various plays and pageants in locations around Norwich including the Assembly House, the Theatre Royal, the Old Music House
on King Street and even Monck’s own home. Further afield the Players performed at Blickling Hall (The Masque of Anne Boleyn, written by Monck), as well as the Kings Hall in Covent Garden and the Memorial Theatre, Stratford-uponAvon. After ten years of having no permanent ‘home’ for his Norwich Players, Monck bought an old, disused Roman Catholic chapel with near perfect acoustics and he and the Players set about transforming the building into a theatre. In roughly six weeks the derelict chapel was converted into England’s first permanent recreation of an Elizabethan stage. As You Like It opened the new theatre and by 1936, The Norwich Players
were the first company to perform all of Shakespeare’s plays under one producer. In 2011, in the centenary year of the founding of the Norwich Players, they completed the Shakespeare cannon once again with the newly attributed ‘Double Falsehood’, three weeks ahead of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Although grounded in Shakespearean roots, the Norwich Players set about producing professional quality ‘plays of merit’ for the local community. That principle still holds today, over ninety years later, with each yearly season of twelve plays varying from the time honoured classics of Wilde and Shaw to contemporary dramas by new writers such as Charlotte Jones (Humble Boy) and Terry Johnson (Hitchcock Blonde). In between producing it’s own shows the theatre plays host to visiting companies and bands, both local and

international. After a much praised start to the 2014 season, the rest of the year continues with Alan Ayckbourne’s ‘Life and Beth’, stage adaptations of the classic TV series ‘Allo ‘Allo and ‘Last of The Summer Wine’, Shaw’s ‘Arms and The Man’, Wilde’s ever popular ‘Importance of Being Earnest’ and rounds off with a Norfolk premiere of the family favourite, ‘The Borrowers’. Tucked away in the middle of the Norwich Lanes, close to a wide choice of restaurants and bars, and with nearby parking, the Maddermarket is a ‘quirky’, intimate little theatre with a big heart full of love: for it’s audiences and the dedicated army of volunteers who help keep the venue running smoothly. To find out more about this hidden gem, take a look at their website, www.maddermarket.co.uk, or visit them during national Heritage Open Days for backstage tours and a look at the largest amateur theatre wardrobe in the region.

The Norfolk Plover By Ed Parnell of Norfolk Wildlife Trust The Breckland area is home to the stone curlew, one of the county’s most distinctive birds, fittingly also known as the Norfolk plover. Stone curlews are a type of wading bird, but they are not (as their name might suggest) related to the Eurasian curlew, which is a familiar bird found mainly around our coasts.
In fact, the stone curlew is the only European representative of the Thickknee family and, yes, it does have rather knobbly knees – though you’ll need a very good view to actually notice this! Stone curlews are very much an inland bird, finding one of their national strongholds among the grassy heathlands and neighbouring arable fields of the Brecks. They are a migratory species, arriving back in Norfolk in March and April each year, having spent their winter around the Mediterranean and even south of the Sahara. A few birds now do seem to be staying put in Norfolk over the winter, perhaps a trend that will increase with climate change? Plumage-wise Norfolk plovers are brown and streaked above, with a pale belly and a noticeable white wing-bar. They have a stubby, strong-looking bill and long yellowish-green legs.

However, their most distinctive features are their large yellow eyes, which led to another of their historical Norfolk names – the goggle-eyed plover! Arguably the best site to see stone curlews in the UK is NWT Weeting Heath, near Brandon. Two special viewing hides have been constructed here which give excellent views over the grassy heath where the birds feed and nest. The turf is kept short by large numbers of rabbits, something which is actively encouraged by Norfolk Wildlife Trust,as they keep the grass at just the right height for these rare birds, as well as numerous scarce Breckland plants and invertebrates. Despite the shortness of the grass, the stone curlews are not always easy to spot as their brown-streaked plumage can look remarkably like a rabbit froma distance. Often, too, the birds sit motionless for long periods (particularly when they are on the nest) and it is not until they move across the ground
in short, running bursts that they become obvious. Towards dusk though their activity levels rise and they start making their rather eerie, wailing calls. NWT Weeting Heath is located just west of Brandon on the NorfolkSuffolk border. Leave Brandon on the A1065 towards Mundford. Cross the railway line on the outskirts of the town, then turn left to Weeting village. In the village itself take the left turn to Hockwold cum Wilton. The reserve car park and visitor centre are 2.5km west of Weeting village and well, well-signed from the road. The reserve is open from 7am to dusk and the visitor centre from 10am to 4pm daily between April and August (September opening is dependent upon the stone curlews). A small entrance charge applies for adult non-NWT members.

MOTORING Review REVIEW 31
Audi R8 Coupe AUDI’S R8, the emperor of the Germanic brand’s line‐up stirs up a heady soup of emotions when you slip behind its wheel Not only does the dazzling supercar look good enough to eat, it almost flirts with you, tempting you to throw away your worries and immerse yourself in its company.
behind the two front seats keeps you respectful of the Audi’s capabilities at all times. A car’s ability to accelerate quickly and reach a blistering top speed is, naturally, desirable. However it’s the handling dynamics, and talent to drive rapidly through the bends, that make for a spine-tingling driving experience. And that’s where the R8 V10 delivers.
Flushed cheeks, a racing heart and clammy hands are all the sensations you’ll experience when you first start up the Audi. And inside your body there’ll be changes that signal Cupid has fired his arrow. In all honestly the R8, especially in V10 guise as tested here with a Lamborghini-derived 5.2-litre engine, will get your dopamine and serotonin chemicals bubbling. Yes, what I’m saying is that you’ll fall in love, or certainly lust, with the two door coupe.
On the road, the R8 V10 completes the zero to 62mph sprint in 3.6 seconds and has an autobahn focused top speed of 195mph. The 10 cylinder engine produces 518bhp and churns out 390.91 lb‐ft of turning force (torque) to the crankshaft at 6,500 rpm.
It’s a true beauty; a work of automotive art and the model has recently become even more stunning to look at, let alone drive.
The seven‐speed S tronic gearbox, which replaces the R tronic used previously, is standard in all V10 models.
Aesthetically, the R8 now comes with all‐light-emitting diode (LED) headlights, and a single-frame grille. A redesigned diffuser and huge, round tailpipes are the most eye‐catching new features. The rear lights include dynamic indicators, a global first from Audi. Produced by LEDs, the turn signal runs from the inside out in the direction in which you want to go.
The fast shifting dual‐clutch transmission features an ingenious launch control function that provides the best possible traction when the car flexes its muscles and takes off. The might of the engine’s output momentarily thumps you back into your seat when the Audi’s clout is unleashed via the Quattro
permanent all‐wheel drive system. And the sound of the car is almost as seductive as its looks. Even at moderate speed there’s a deep, multi-layered, glorious rumble. But hit the R8’s ‘Sport’ button and you get a gratifying crackling and popping on the downshifts. The snarl is animalistic, and deeply nourishing for any petrol head’s ears. Inside, the high‐performance sports car is now even more sophisticated. You and your passenger sit in bucket seats with folding backrests, and the seat covers and inserts in the door liners are quilted. Getting comfortable behind the wheel is easy and it’s surprisingly straightforward to drive. That said; the grunting, visceral tone emitting from the powertrain assembled

Is Your Car Road Ready For Summer? Don’t get caught out once on the road - prepare your car for that long road trip! If your summer vacation plans include a road trip, the last thing you want is to have unexpected car trouble to leave you stranded at the side of the road, ruining all the fun.

A pre-trip vehicle check is the best way to be car care aware and ensure that your car is ready to get you to your destination, says the non-profit Car Care Council.
Check the tires, including tire pressure and tread. Underinflated tires reduce a vehicle’s fuel economy and uneven wear indicates a need for wheel alignment. Tires should also be checked for bulges and bald spots.

The Car Care Council recommends the following pre-trip checklist before hitting the road this summer: Check the brake system and make sure the battery connection is clean, tight and corrosion-free.
Check that the gas cap is not damaged, loose or missing to prevent gas from spilling or evaporating.
