SPITSBERGEN TRAVEL PRODUCT MANUAL Welcome to the Spitsbergen Travel product manual for 2016. In this manual we hope that you will find all the information you will need to market and sell Spitsbergen Travel’s products. In addition to the manual, agents working with individual/FIT bookings will also receive a contract from Spitsbergen Travel with their commission rates. The manual is divided into different sections: • General information • Day trips • Expeditions • Accommodation • Food & Beverage • Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) and other group bookings GENERAL INFORMATION This section will provide you with information that is important to know for all visitors to Svalbard, as well as agents who sell tours to Svalbard. DAY TRIPS Spitsbergen Travel offers day trips all year, and these tours can be between two and eleven hours. The day trip section is divided into the type of activity, with an information sheet for the type of tour (e.g. Snowmobile tours) followed by individual pages for each activity. EXPEDITIONS Spitsbergen Travel classifies expeditions as tours where guests spend at least 1 night away from Longyearbyen. Our expeditions in 2016 range from 2 to 18 days, and vary widely in the level of physical fitness and previous experience participants must have. For each expedition you will find an introduction page and an information page with details on the tour. ACCOMMODATION The accommodation pages will provide you with information on each of our hotels and guesthouse. For each place you will find an introduction page, and then an information page with rates. Generally, our agents are offered rack rates minus commission for FIT bookings (9 or less participants), whilst all group bookings are tailor-made and must be quoted. You will also find the special net rates for pre- and post-nights in connection to our expeditions. FOOD & BEVERAGE Many visitors to Svalbard are often positively surprised by the quality of the dining options in Svalbard. We have therefore added a section with information on selected restaurants and bars in Longyearbyen for your information. MEETINGS, INCENTIVES, CONFERENCES AND EVENTS (MICE) AND OTHER GROUP BOOKINGS This section is to assist event planners and agents looking for group programs. We have included information on group activities, sample programs and the extra services that are available for groups.

6

GENERAL INFORMATION Here you will find useful information for both agents and guests. This information is based on the questions that we often receive, and will be kept updated. SVALBARD & SPITSBERGEN We are often asked what the difference is between Svalbard and Spitsbergen. Svalbard is the official name for the entire Archipelago, of which Spitsbergen is the largest island. The name Svalbard was taken into official use following the signing of the Svalbard Treaty in 1920, and originates from the Icelandic texts which relate to a possible discovery of the archipelago in the early 1100s. Svalbard means ‘the cold coasts’ in old Scandinavian. The name Spitsbergen was given to the area by Willem Barentz, the first person proven to have discovered the islands. Spitsbergen means ‘pointy mountains’ in reference to the geography Barentz met when he first sighted land in the north-west of the island. SETTLEMENTS Longyearbyen is the administrative centre of Svalbard, and is centrally located on Spitsbergen. There are approximately 2100 people living in Longyearbyen. Barentsburg is the Russian mining town located to the south-west of Longyearbyen. Approximately 400 people live in the town. Pyramiden is an abandoned Russian mining town located north of Longyearbyen. A few people currently live in Pyramiden. Ny-Ålesund is a scientific community to the north-west of Longyearbyen. TRAVEL TO SVALBARD With the exception of cruise passengers, today’s tourists generally arrive in Longyearbyen by flights from either Tromsø or Oslo. Currently both SAS and Norwegian offer scheduled flights to Longyearbyen. The airport also allows some charter flights when the capacity on the scheduled flights is too low, but due to the strict environmental policies in place on Svalbard small private planes are generally not accepted. SERVICES IN LONGYEARBYEN There are a wide range of services and shops in Longyearbyen. Amongst these are: bank with ATM, bars, library, car hire, camping grounds, hair dresser, art gallery, sports hall, swimming pool, accommodation facilities, cafés, cinema, church, museum, post office, restaurants, hospital, dentist, taxi and tourist information. CURRENCY The Norwegian Krone is used throughout Svalbard, including the Russian settlements. Common credit cards are accepted at hotels, tour operators and shops. Remember to take cash if visiting Pyramiden. An ATM is located in the bank building. The bank does not offer a currency exchange service, and visitors should check exchange rates before paying with foreign currency. BOOKING OF ACTIVITIES We recommend that visitors book their activities in advance to avoid disappointment. Should visitors wish to book tours once they have arrived they can do so at Spitsbergen Travel’s offices in the ‘Polarsenter’ between 9:00am and 4:00pm, or all day long from the receptions of the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen and Spitsbergen Hotel. You may also book these at the Coal Miners’ Cabins during opening hours. EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING All trips out of the settlements must be planned with respect for possible extreme weather conditions and delays. On organised tours the required extra clothing and specialised equipment are often provided. If you are uncertain, ask your tour operator what type of clothing and equipment you need. LOCAL GUIDES Every year there are accidents involving visitors to Svalbard who have headed into the wilderness on their own. For the safety of visitors, and to ensure they get more from their experiences, we recommend that visitors book tours with local guides. All of Spitsbergen Travel’s tours are led by experienced local guides. WEAPONS/SAFETY EQUIPMENT Due to the possible polar bear danger, it is recommended that visitors carry a weapon when travelling outside of Longyearbyen. A high calibre rifle is the best defensive weapon, and we recommend carrying a flare gun or signal pen as well to scare away bears. Visitors without weapon experience should join an organised trip with a guide. Documentation of weapon experience/licences must be carried and may be required to hire weapons.

7

BLOOD ALCOHOL LIMIT The laws for driving under the influence on Svalbard are the same as on the Norwegian mainland. For operation of a car or snowmobile the blood alcohol limit is 0.02% CLOTHING In winter you should use the warmest clothing you have. Several layers of wool with a windproof outer layer is a good start. If you are going snowmobiling you may find that this is not enough. On organised snowmobile trips or dogsledding tours the necessary extra clothing and equipment is usually included. You can also purchase or hire this equipment locally. During the summer we recommend clothing appropriate for an autumn hike in the Norwegian mountains – wool and fleece with a windproof layer. Windproof jackets and pants, warm headwear and mittens are recommended at all times. Always have some extra warm layers available in case of a change in the weather. FOOTWEAR A lot of the terrain on Svalbard is uneven, and we recommend solid shoes and hiking/mountain boots. In summer large amounts of snow and ice melt, which leads to swollen rivers and streams as well as large areas of wetland. During the winter it is important to use the warmest possible shoes. INDOOR SHOES On Svalbard we have a tradition of taking off our shoes when entering homes, hotels and other accommodation providers, offices and shops. This tradition stretches back to the time when the coal mines in Longyear Valley were in use. To help keep the coal dust out of buildings the locals would always take off their shoes. SHOPPING Svalbard is not subject to customs and VAT/GST regulations. This means many goods are cheaper here than in mainland Norway. Other items, such as fruit, vegetables and milk can be substantially more expensive due to high freight costs. In Longyearbyen you can find both large and small shops selling everything from groceries to sports and leisure equipment, clothing, gifts and souvenirs. TELEPHONE/MOBILE TELEPHONE Svalbard is connected to the telephone network on the mainland by a fibre optic cable. This ensures good coverage in Longyearbyen, Barentsburg, parts of the Ice Fjord (Isfjorden), Svea and Ny-Ålesund. Outside of these areas it can be difficult to find a signal. In Longyearbyen the rates are the same as the Norwegian mainland. In Barentsburg you may need to select the Norwegian provider in order to access these rates. INTERNET High speed internet is available in Longyearbyen. Guests of the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel Spitsbergen, Spitsbergen Hotel and Coal Miners' Cabins have complimentary WIFI at their hotels. PASSPORTS As of 1 February 2011, the identity of all travellers between Svalbard and the Norwegian mainland will be checked both upon arrival and departure. Before this, the Immigration Regulations have only permitted identity verification of foreign nationals upon entry from Svalbard. Pursuant to the Schengen Regulations, the identity of all travellers crossing any Schengen external border must be checked. As Svalbard is not a part of the Schengen area, the identity of all travellers between Svalbard and the Norwegian mainland must be verified. According to these changes, as of 1 February 2011 the identity of all travellers will be checked both upon entry and departure. This will apply to both Norwegian citizens and foreign nationals (i.e. both individuals covered by the EEA agreement or the EFTA convention and third country nationals). Passports or national identity cards should satisfy Schengen regulation requirements for identity verification. As national identity cards are not available in Norway as yet, and introducing a passport identification requirement for Norwegian citizens for travel within the realm is undesirable, an interim solution has been introduced, whereby Norwegian citizens can prove their identity by presenting driver’s licences issued after 1998, bank-issued identity cards, or the Norwegian Armed Forces’ identity card. This interim solution will remain in effect until such a time that national identity cards are introduced in Norway. In many cases, however, these types of documents will not be issued to individuals under the age of 18. The identity of a Norwegian minor will thus have to be verified by an adult escorting the minor to the flight or travelling with the minor. After the introduction of national identity cards, however, all Norwegian citizens (including minors) will have to prove their identities using a passport or national identity card.

This building has a wooden floor. The other building at Camp Barentz is called ‘Gammen’, and it is a traditional Northern Norwegian building. It is a circular construction with a fire in the centre. SPITSBERGEN SNOWMOBILE SAFARIS All of our snowmobile tours will showcase the amazing Arctic wilderness, snow-covered mountains and barren tundra, and our experienced tour leaders will ensure that each tour is more than just a drive. These guides are very familiar with Svalbard’s history, wildlife and geography. Stops will be made often throughout the tours, in order to marvel at the landscape, observe the wildlife, or perhaps just to turn off the motors and enjoy the deafening silence of the Polar Regions. Advance bookings are recommended for all tours, but particularly snowmobiling tours as these are the most popular winter activities. PROGRAM In the interest of the safety of the participants we reserve the right to change the planned routes due to weather, snow and ice conditions. These changes will not affect the tour price. Participants will be collected from the hotels and guesthouses in Longyearbyen. On arrival at the tour production headquarters, participants will be briefed on the tour and route, as well as regulations for the tour and be shown how the snowmobiles work. Participants will be required to show their drivers licences in order to drive, and all participants must sign a document showing that they accept that they must follow the guide’s instructions, and that they are liable for the excess of NOK 6000 if they damage a snowmobile due to negligence. After completion of tour participants will be driven back to their hotel/guesthouse. 2016 SEASON SNOWMOBILE TOUR TOUR END TOUR START Camp Barentz 17 May 11 February Northern lights safari 14 February 27 November Elveneset 17 May 15 February Tempelfjorden 17 May 13 February Barentsburg 17 May 13 February East Coast 17 May 19 February Pyramiden 17 May 12 March *Snowmobile season is always dependent on snow and ice conditions

DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY FOR SNOWMOBILE TOURS: The degree of difficulty for snowmobile tours is not only related to physical fitness, but also experience with snowmobiles. Spitsbergen Travel recommends that those with no previous snowmobile experience begin with shorter tours in easy terrain. The grading for these tours is as follows: 2. Suitable for most without any snowmobile experience, very easy and flat terrain, up to 40km 3. Suitable for most without any snowmobile experience, through some rugged terrain, up to 160km 4. Previous snowmobile experience recommended, long day trip up to 180km 5. For those with previous snowmobile experience, very long day trip more than 180km THE PRICES INCLUDE Briefing, snowmobile, fuel, snowmobile suit, snowmobile boots, facemask or balaclava, outer mittens, helmet with visor, experienced tour leader with all necessary safety equipment, hot drinks and biscuits and search and rescue insurance. THE PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE Personal travel insurance, clothing other than that mentioned above, backpack for personal equipment. CLOTHING Participants on snowmobile tours will be equipped with snowmobile suits, snowmobile boots, mittens, balaclavas and helmets. We recommend wearing long woollen underwear, a good woollen jumper/fleece jacket and warm, lined pants or fleece pants, thick woollen socks, thin woollen gloves and a scarf or buff beneath the provided outerwear. We recommend you take a small backpack with extra woollen layers, headwear and mittens.

FURTHER INFORMATION Before setting out, the tour leader will provide an introduction to the driving techniques. We start at a moderate speed so that everybody can become accustomed to snowmobile driving. All of our snowmobiles can carry two persons. Driving a snowmobile is relatively easy and a great way to explore Svalbard’s landscape. On trips over 5 hours we strongly recommend that each member of the party drives their own snowmobile. It is harder to manoeuvre the snowmobile with a passenger, and due to inactivity passengers may become cold, especially on longer trips. Passenger place is only available when driver is in same booking. It is not possible to make a booking with only passengers. Maximum 1 passenger per driver. Please note that a current driver’s licence is required in order to drive a snowmobile. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be tolerated. Note that the police often hold controls in the field, and fines can be very high. FACILITIES Many of our tours take place in areas far from settlements. As such there are generally no toilets available during the tours. Toilets are provided at the tour production headquarters and guests may use these before and after. The exceptions are the tours to Barentsburg and Pyramiden, where there will be toilets available during the lunch stop. TAILOR-MADE TOURS Our tour production group can put together special private snowmobile tours on request. These can include accommodation at, for example, the Spitsbergen Expedition Lodge or at other outlying accommodation places, like the hotel in Barentsburg. These tours are made to order, and will be quoted based on availability, dates, length of tour and number of guests.

Starry skies, moon light on the snow or the aurora lighting up the magical landscape. Join us for an atmospheric experience in the Polar Night!

Driver: NOK 1895 Passenger: NOK 895

In the period between November 14 and January 29 each year, a remarkable phenomenon occurs on Svalbard - The Polar Night. During these weeks the sun is at le ast 6 degrees under the horizon and therefore never shines on Spitsbergen. While the sun is hidden under the horiz on, Longyearbyen becomes a magical place lit only by streetlamps, the northern lights and the moon which glitters in the snow. The atmosphere is completely unique, and as you experience this mystical darkness you will know you are a long way from the beaten track. Don’t forget to look up when we stop - during the Polar Night you have double the chance of seeing the Northern Lights! The reindeer kick in the snow to find their fodder, and the foxes slink around in the dark. We will stop and enjoy the scenery, and the guide will ser ve hot drinks and biscuits. During the stop we may be able to see the impressive Northern Lights, which, due to the Polar Night, are often visible during the daytime hours. SPITSBERGEN SNOWCAT TOURS Snow-cats are purpose built all-terrain vehicles for getting off the beaten track and given that there is just 46km of beaten track in Longyearbyen it is well worth getting off the roads! The Spitsbergen Travel snow-cats have two sections. In the front section with the driver there are seats for 5 participants. In the back section there are bench-style seats with space for about 12 people. During the darkest months of the year we use the snow-cats to head out away from the lights of town where the aurora will be at its clearest. We do offer both snowmobile safaris and dog sledding tours at this time of year as well, but by joining a snowcat tour you don’t need to worry about driving yourself, and even small children can join in the hunt for the northern lights. From February we use the snow-cats to take participants up onto the Longyear glacier, where they can then descend into the ice cave on foot. The guide will drive the first sled, with space for two guests in his sled. The other participants follow in small wagons for 3 people. We will make several stops along the way to give the dogs a drink. The tour takes us along the track into Endalen, past the cableway turning station and towards the old Gruve 5 mine. This trip starts with transport to the dog yard near Bolterdalen, where we will meet our fourlegged friends before begin our hike. We will head into Bolterdalen, and along the meandering riverbed. The river is formed by meltwater from the glaciers further inland, and has moved rocks and gravel into a large moraine. It is in these types of rocks you can find 40 - 60 million year old fossils of ancient flora and fauna, and our experienced guides know just where to look! The guides will also offer delicious waffles and hot drinks and the dog yards, and if you are lucky you might get to meet the husky puppies!

Everything is intact but the streets are deserted. A magical place. During the cruise our guide will be a fount of information, and will explain the local geography, history and wildlife as we head through the Isfjord. We will head north, into the Billefjord, and towards the majestic Nordenskiöld Glacier. This fantastic wall of ice will be the backdrop for our lunch, before we head into the ghost town, Pyramiden. A Russian guide will show us some of the fascinating Soviet era buildings, and Russian souvenirs will be available at Hotel Tulipan. Early in the season (generally until late May-early June), the fjord ice may prvent us from visiting Pyramiden itself. However, the presence of sea ice means that we will be on the lookout for wildlife otherwise not often spotted, like bearded seals, ring seals, Arctic foxes, and perhaps even polar bears, who need the ice to hunt.

The glow of the sun is always a little warmer in the evening as MS Langøysund sets a westerly course towards Borebukta. Before us lies Oscar II Land which with its alpine peaks creates a white frame around the glittering Isfjord. This is where we will find the Bore Glacier. Over millennia it has glided slowly down the wide valley – a hard mass of ancient ice. The glacier rips itself from the land with a resounding boom and meets the sea with an impressive splash. There the ice pitches slowly in the waves before making its way out of the bay. By the ice we will serve a late supper from the barbecue. A more spectacular backdrop to a meal would be nigh on impossible to find. We enjoy our meal while the sun continues to smile down upon us. The summers on Svalbard beg to be enjoyed. In the Arctic we sleep in the winter!

The guides will look at the weather and snow conditions when planning this excursion, but commonly head towards the glaciers in the inner part of Grønfjorden. DAY 2 After breakfast we pack our sleds and set off south, towards the spectacular Fridtjov Glacier and Van Mijenfjorden. We drive along the fjord to the wide valley Reindalen and then onwards to the cosy Spitsbergen Expedition Lodge in Brentskaret. The tour leader will serve lunch en route, and dinner will be prepared in the evening when we arrive at the lodge. Guests are also welcome to make use of the fantastic new sauna located adjacent to the lodge. Do you want to see more of Spitsbergen? Join us on an amazing three day adventure, on this very special expedition. Spend a night in Russian Barentsburg and one in our cosy lodge, marvel at the spectacular Fridtjov Glacier in Van Mijenfjord and explore the fabled Kingdom of the Polar Bear! SPITSBERGEN WINTER SAFARI We set out on a 3 day tour across glaciers and frozen fjords, between mountains and icebergs, taking us miles away from civilisation. Svalbard is one and a half times the size of Denmark but has just 45 km of paved road. The region is so large that the only practical way of getting around in winter is by snowmobile. Enjoy a rare sense of freedom as you drive across one gigantic, white glacier after another. Marvel at the enormous icebergs on the east coast – but keep your eyes open – with a bit of luck you may spot a polar bear out on the ice!

Driving a snowmobile is relatively easy, but heading out on a long snowmobile tour in the Arctic requires a great deal of planning and experience, familiarity with the Svalbard landscape, climate and fauna, as well as mechanical expertise. Our tour leaders are amongst the most experienced on Svalbard, and participate in local training courses each year. They take responsibility for every practical detail of the tour, and ensure that it is conducted safely, so that you can enjoy your trip without worrying about the logistics.

SPITSBERGEN LODGE BACKCOUNTRY SKIING PROGRAM Subject to change. Adjustments will be made to route should weather conditions deem it necessary. DAY 1 10:00am: The guide will meet you at your accommodation, and you will have a briefing to ensure your final preparations are in place. There will be time for last minute shopping before our departure from Longyearbyen. We plan for an afternoon tour to familiarise ourselves with the area we will be exploring. We will stay at Spitsbergen Travel’s comfortable Expedition Lodge, where we will be able to enjoy some modern comforts in the midst of the wilderness. DAY 2 The day starts with a solid breakfast before we head out to experience the local mountains. We will explore the mountains in the inner parts of Adventdalen and the side valleys. The area offers peaks of up to 1100 metres (Skolten), with the majority at around 700 - 900m. The peaks are easily accessible and varied - from alpine descents to slower open flanks that are perfect for big swings! In the evening we will return to the lodge for the night, and the weather, snow and our sense of adventure will help us choose the next day's slopes. DAY 3 We spend the whole day exploring the backcountry possibilities of the area, looking for the most untouched areas and the very best snow. We return to Longyearbyen at around 6:00pm. 2016 DEPARTURES On request 2016 PRICE PER PARTICIPANT CATEGORY DESCRIPTION K1 Shared snowmobile *Single snowmobile available for an extra fee. FURTHER INFORMATION Skiing in isolated areas requires a certain level of skill from the participants to ensure the expedition is conducted in a safe and secure way. All participants must be used to skiing outside of prepared slopes. The participants must only ski to their own limits and follow the guide's instructions at all times. Participants must bring, carry and know how to operate an avalanche beacon, spade and search probe, in addition to their skiing equipment. The daily stages will vary, and will be adjusted to the snow and weather conditions, as well as the participants’ desires and requests. We will generally be up at 700 - 1000 metres above sea level each day. We can set up round trips, and/or master several peaks during the same stage. The climbs will be at a relatively easy tempo to enjoy the surroundings and save energy for the descents. All participants must be familiar with climbing peaks with skiing and safety equipment. Three days in the lodge with like-minded people gives you a fantastic opportunity for adventure. The guide will ensure that the participants experience great skiing in safety. The goal for the expedition is safe skiing which will show you Svalbard at its best. Plus, we will always be hunting for the best snow!

58990 Our longest tour ever: Svalbard North & South! Over two expeditions this trip takes you from one end of Spitsbergen to the other. SPITSBERGEN NORTH IN 2016 This is the longest and most demanding expedition we have, where you will ski to the north and south tips of Spitsbergen. As many of our guests have busy schedules, making it difficult to find the time for a long expedition, we have chosen to stage this adventure over two years. We will go north the first year, and then south the following year. If you take both trips then we can promise you that you will be able to draw a line from the tips of Spitsbergen, and say that you skied it! This is an achievement you will remember for the rest of your life!

A skiing expedition during the Svalbard winter presents some of the most demanding conditions you can find in the Polar Regions. The variations in terrain, temperature and wind make this the complete Polar experience. Head over sea ice and glaciers, through wide valleys and over moraines - with the added excitement of the presence of Polar bears.

On this kayak expedition we focus on the northern parts of Isfjorden. There is less boat

traffic in this area, and we can paddle undisturbed past huge glaciers such as the spectacular Sveabreen. The area teems with birdlife, and we can see rare Polar flora whilst soaking up the fascinating local history on land.

Dates 2016: 20 - 25 June

Our aim for the expedition is to reach Dicksonfjorden and Kapp Smith. From here we will be brought back to Longyearbyen and civilisation by Polarcirkel boats on Saturday afternoon.

Adjustments will be made to the route should weather conditions deem it necessary.

For those without previous kayaking experience we recommend the Spitsbergen Isfjorden Kayak Expedition. You must be aware that the weather can change quickly, and that the sea might be relative rough due to the wind and waves. Temperature in the water is around 2-4 °C. Each of the houses has a communal kitchen, and guests are able to self-cater. Guests can also use the lounge room and laundry facilities.

The Arctic landscape provides a stunning backdrop for teambuilding and inspires new ideas and thought. The exhilarating wilderness experiences will make pulses race. Your group will be excited, stimulated and focussed, and the inspiration and team feeling will follow them home! LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE With more than 25 years of experience in tailor-made programs for groups of all sizes, our team are the local experts. We are based in Longyearbyen and know Svalbard well. We know what is available when, which activities suit which seasons and what each group can fit into their time on Svalbard. Let us help you find the perfect program for your next group. TAILOR-MADE We can put together complete packages with flights, accommodation, transport, meeting rooms, meals and activities, based on your group’s wishes. We can combine different activities, or offer a variety of activities at the same time so there is something to suit everyone. We also offer a range of activities specifically for the group market, and can add special touches to trips to ensure your guests get the most out of their visit. GROUP COORDINATOR Spitsbergen Travel is pleased to offer a coordinator service, which allows you to hire a knowledgeable member of our team to be your own personal contact point during the stay. This person will be the group’s liaison to all the activity providers, transport services and more. The coordinator will meet the group on landing, provide programs for the stay (if desired), and explain important safety information and general information on the group’s stay during the trip to the hotel. During the stay the coordinator can assist you with program adjustments and local issues. The coordinator will be available at the start of every activity to ensure that everything runs to schedule, and will be contactable via a duty telephone between 7:00am and10:00pm. MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES Should your clients hold their next meeting on Svalbard? This is a completely unique destination, where the environment is demanding and the weather effects everyday life, but where modern hotels and meeting facilities act as a counterpoint to the wild outdoors. The largest conference room in Longyearbyen can seat 300 people, but there are also comfortable board rooms for groups of 10. A meeting or conference on Svalbard gives the participants the possibility of combining once in a life-time Arctic experiences with their work, meaning that the event in Longyearbyen will never be forgotten. They can help you create the perfect program to suit your group, and can combine meetings, activities, meals and more into one well-organised program. SO FAR, YET SO NEAR Svalbard is exotic. It is completely different to any other place you have ever visited. This once unreachable place is now relativelyaccessible, with many flights each week.

LONGYEARBYEN

TROMSØ

OSLO Svalbard is an archipelago surroundedby the Arctic Ocean, Barentz Sea, Greenland Sea and Norwegian Sea, and is the northernmost part of Norway. There are just over 2600 people living on the islands, and each year 38000 touristsfly up to marvel at the Arcticwonders.
