The Watson & Gabb design and craft is driven by a deep passion to articulate a unique story and experience, built on alchemy of tradition and innovation. We believe story is something that is worth to be told, narrated, lived. Each hand-crafted surface and has a story which blends seamlessly to create an unpretentious luxury, which is as refined as it is masterfully designed.

THE DESIGN

2

British design is famous the world over. Our collections of panels use the finest materials manufactured right here at our purpose-built workshop in the heart of Wiltshire. It is in this unique environment that Watson & Gabb was born, inspired by an ever-evolving masterful craftsmanship; combining traditional, heritage artistry with state-of-the-art technology to uphold the true sense of “Made in England.” From the functional to the decorative, the panels shape and illuminate the interiors and exteriors of residential homes, super-yachts, offices and studios, fashion stores, restaurants and hotels via a select roster of private clients, high-end interior designers and architects across the globe.

THE CRAFT

5

Re-inventing and elevating traditional methods, materials and techniques to create tactile surfaces and rarefied beauty.

Watson & Gabb constantly push and test the boundaries of design with an expert understanding of form, colour and materiality emulating brutality and grace; beautiful and uniquely tactile. As hands-on designers and makers, we are fascinated by process, whether that be with traditional tools or the latest computer-controlled router. This, combined with in-depth knowledge of historical techniques and aesthetics, gives all of our design’s rich narratives and contextual reference points, while continually testing the limits of craft and design. Watson & Gabb have an innate ability to spot unique materials, along with a vision to forge innovative techniques.

THE SURFACES

6

An Exploration in texture. Founded on material and metaphysical exploration, Watson & Gabb manipulate organic and synthetic materials, experimenting with the harmony of opposing forces to maximise the physical and emotional potential of each form and surface. Watson & Gabb have long been obsessed with textures in all their forms. Water, fire, earth, metal and wood; paying homage to the five elements and capturing nature’s most sacred moments. Brutality and grace; beautiful and uniquely tactile. The surfaces create sophisticated, materially sensuous environments that exude depth and artistic cool, from furniture façades, wall panelling and external doors, to entirely bespoke dressing rooms, store fronts and beyond.

7

Good design elevates and defines the aesthetic and personality of a space. Watson & Gabb are innovators of hand-applied liquid metal, timber, plaster, limestone and resin surface panels. We redefine sculptural surfaces and textures inspired by natural forms to illuminate spaces whilst embracing transience and imperfections. From the functional to the decorative, the panels shape and illuminate the interiors and exteriors of residential homes, super-yachts, offices and studios, fashion stores, restaurants and hotels via a select roster of private clients, high-end interior designers and architects across the globe. ORGANIC

13

The Watson & Gabb Organic Collection is built on an artist-led process; never dictated by commerce or fashion – we only make surfaces that really interest us as artists. Using a hands-on process combined with the alchemic nature of the liquid metals – turning elemental materials into something tactile and sculptural – our panels reveal references to nature, landscapes, art history, architecture and ancient techniques.

The Watson & Gabb Poured Collection uses an ancient technique designed to imitate marble and precious stones. Based on the idea of creating surfaces that have the delicacy of fired glazes. The tactile appeal of the surfaces is designed to draw you in as you try to determine how the material has been created - and closer inspection shows that the depth of the design is not a paint effect but a solid surface.Â

Watson & Gabb surfaces and panels are composed of layers. The edges come as trimmed and un-sanded, unless otherwise specified. The edge is cut to allow for a square panel.

EDGES Edges can be cut, sanded, and finished to match the surface, or alternatively they can be edged according to the design intent and carried out by a project contractor. Watson & Gabb offer a CNC cutting service allowing all shapes and sizes to be accommodated and shipped as finished items. Surcharges will apply.

We value objects that patina with age, surfaces that grow rich with the signs of daily use are part of the joy of living with great design. Our surfaces are designed and crafted to last a lifetime, so to help them age gracefully we recommend you read our ‘Care Guide.’
